An unlikely source of old transistors, NPN, PNP, JFETS both Si and Ge is _Antique Electronic Supply_ in Tempe AZ. I believe they stock them for the guys who like to restore old "stomp boxes" and solid state amps. They even have some matched pairs (2 in a can) for matched differential pair circuits. I did not see those transistors though. Cheers,
Divide and conquer! I forgot to say earlier in the series that "B+" and "B-" are actually B+1 and B-1, meaning, I think, whatever voltage B is plus 1V and minus 1V, respectively. I hope that helps.

This has been a very interesting series for me to watch. Such an ambitious repair given the dense construction, sealed cans, etc.

This is real progress now. I wonder if you can just isolate the levelling circuit and feed input from the actual input?
