I lost my husband at an early age and when I am not absolutely absorbed with grandchildren it gives me something to do. Pam is such a great teacher and funny to.
Hi Love!
Sorry to hear about your husband. Grandchildren are the best. Pam is my all time favorite to watch. I listen to her podcasts on Spotify as well. She is so funny and not afraid to carry on when she messes up. Just love her bunches.
Yes she is funny and she saves face quiet well. I love to watch her to. Thank you so much. I find it is rewarding to craft around seeing my grandchildren
Sorry for your loss. I find crafting/ Journaling very relaxing and comforting.
I am so happy that your CZcams Channel was the first I found when I started junk journaling (or rather making them instead of using them😂) in January, because you are one of the few who actually for the most part use “junk” to make new and exciting things🎉instead of just printning more paper. I do occasionally use digitals but do enjoy replicating your great ideas using already excisting paper, instead of adding to the paper printning pile of the world😊
Oh gosh I completely agree! I love Pam's digital images and I use them a lot to tuck into envelopes and pockets because the images are so beautiful, and I use her signature page digitals to collage for tags and journal cards. HOWEVER, I love that Pam doesn't use "journal making kits" like so so so many people out there do all the time. That's why her journals are so unique and interesting, and not one of them looks like a Tim Holtz workshop challenge. I love that about Natasha at Treasure Books too. Natasha goes even further and uses no digital images whatsoever, and only uses pictures she cuts out from books and magazines. I'm glad I found them when I first started my junk journal journey too. 😂
Ooh I’m definitely piling in on this comment. There is so much junk out there, so l love to watch Pam because she finds stuff and turns it into treasures.
@@annwestcott3752 and I'm obsessed with the ephemera she makes, especially her little star clusters made out of tiny scrap paper strips. 🥰🥰 She can turn any little piece of paper into a jewel with her nuvo drops and stickles. 😂
I feel same. Great teacher paml
I’ve been contemplating how I might use paper from other things like old statements and especially the privacy notices that come from the doctor or the insurance company and printing digikits over the top. I’ve had great success printing digikits over the top of one another to make interesting signature pages. Especially French script over the top of the vintage botanical images! I wonder if my printer would complain since they aren’t “crunchy” from dyeing yet.
Pam, I love this. You are the influencer that has me saving clothing tags, lace from old clothes and boxes that have any resemblance to a book. Then there is my paperclip and ribbon addiction. Goodness. Must go shopping for storage bins. 😜💗
If I could, I would give you @deborahbovee9468 99👍 more 🙂 Jacqueline
Just made me literally 😂 giggle. By saying “haha Pam can’t find her paper scissors.” You are a great crafter/artist; amazing transformation of junk mail magazine into very pretty journal! Have I told you already that you bring me joy when in the most difficult times? And Sonny “talking” is sooooooo adorable 🥰 Thank you and God bless.
The buckling happens because the feed dogs are pulling the bottom layer, and the presser foot is pushing the top layer, in opposite directions. To avoid bucking, start at the center fold and sew to the outside edge while clamping the layers together to avoid the pull-push effect, removing the clamps just before the paper goes under the presser foot, holding the piece firmly with fingers. Keep in mind that while the two outer layers are glued, inside the package there are loose pages that can and do shift. Once one side is stitched from the center to the outside point, either stop stitching and stitch the long side in the same way, or turn the corner. To turn a corner with a zig zag, stop sewing with the needle to the outside edge of the item, and with the needle down, lift the presser foot and pivot the item to position it for sewing down the next side. To sew the long edge from the center down. To the edge, start in the center. And sew downward, and then when starting again, just match the needle to a previous hole, matching the swing to the right direction, and so to the corner. When sewing the remaining side, it isn’t necessary to turn the item over. Just make a mark with masking tape and/or use a seam guide and roll the other half of the item gently so that it will fit under the arm of the machine without getting folded.
Love It, I have been making my little Junk Journals out of magazine for a year or so..............I just cut the magazing in half, and FOLD EACH page onto itself!! which toughens the page, and i most time glue a coffee stained paper on each......time consuming, but makes the cutest little journal!!! Perfect Size!!! I have also cut the magazine in length half, fold the pages into itself and have a LONG JOURNAL, which seem to be as cute as can be!!!!! Thank You for sharing!! Love Your Work, and watching you has given me SO MUCH INSPIRATION!!!!
For changing height, if keeping the staples or at least the binding placement you might want to take away equally from both top and bottom to achieve your desired height. As to changing width, another option would be to fold each page in half and glue-this would yield same number of pages, just thicker
You are a scream! The zigzag stitches are a little wacky and you don't care a bit. I think this is why we all love your channel and your work - you are having fun and rolling with the punches! I love that watching you makes me feel relaxed and happy and want to get with the fun of journal-making. Thanks so much. Oh, I love that you use the word "mayhem" so often. Such a useful word! Love to Sunshine!
Good morning Pam and everyone I hope you all have a fabulous day!
“It looks like an EKG” 😂😂 I am crying and going to replay the sew machine part! Reminds me of my own sewing. Thanks Pam! 🤣
That is so awesome that you can make a journal out of anything.
If the corners of the pictures were rounded, I think they would fit under the lace easier. I like this journal. The pictures are awesome.
I love using magazines for this. Nice thickness and somewhat crinkly!!
All I’ve got to say is…”Can I be your friend?” 😂😂😂
And, here I was thinking that I was the only crazy one, talking to objects around me…anímate and inanimate. I mean, does it really matter??? 🤣
I will add that I believe we have the same exact sewing machine, so I bear a bit of hesitancy for when I brave the paper meets machine world. But, nay, I shall not let it keep me from journeying forward!
But, seriously…not that I wasn’t earlier…I want you to know that you brought me such joy today. I am new to this wonderful “journal making” world, and recently found you! Then, I lost you! But, here you are again! And, I am blessed! ❤
Sincerely, thank you!
Jacqui
❤️
Pam, I just come to your channel for any little thing. Sometimes I want to get ideas. Sometimes I want to see what you've been up to. And sometimes I just need background crafting while I work on work. Thank you!
You and Sunny just made my day, crack me up with the shower. Busted out laughing! 😂 Love the journal with all the lace, such a pretty combo. Have a fabulous day! 💕🤗
I love your inexpensive ideas and ways to fix mistakes.
I think I love the texture and feeliness of this cover and yes, I'd also say that your cover pretty much flatlined towards the end there - definitely time to call it. Love ya girl, MK ❤️🤗🌵
Oh I love that puppy! Journal was nice too! But the puppy had had to watch over & over again! I had to share this one with ALL my friends that talk for their puppy like I do too! Absolutely great Journal idea seriously! Love it!
Love the color of your nails Pam. I've been admiring your nail colors alot lately. And of course your fabulous creations.
Red fingernail polish!!!!! Love your channel and have purchased some of your downloads. Really enjoy everything you do and like the Irish accent. JH
Loved this little Undine book!
You are a ‘bookie’ for sure and that Sonny is the cutest dog ever!👍
I like the character the Mis-sew gave! Looked cool
I too have a loving relationship with paper! 💕 Love your journal! Love 💗 Kare StClair
Love your style! In crafting and chatting to yourself, your crafty bits and of course us lol xxx
Good evening Outposters! Love the upcycling and repurposing! 💕 Have a happy day SP!
Good morning dear Pam and family. Thank you again for inspiration.
What a creative idea and fun to make. Sunshine it is fun to shower, enjoy it.
Pam, I absolutely love watching you craft! I'm a super anal, OCD crafter, and so you're crafting style should drive me absolutely nuts...but it doesn't 🤣!! I absolutely love your quirkiness/go with the flow personality. It must be just what I need so I can loosen up a bit and just enjoy crafting ❤️
As always, thank you! You always provide do-able ideas, with great instructions!!
I also am so glad that your channel was my first for junk journaling.Whenever I need to know how to do something zi can always find one of your videos to help me.Not to mention that cutie Sun Bun to make me smile. Thanks Pam
Your puppy is adorable
Ireland has been on my bucket list for about 40 years. Someday…thank you for being who you are. You are so much fun to learn from. (Terrible grammar).
Love making something out of "nothing". I'm such a scrounge and this video just fires up my scroungyness. Love it!
sweet, sweet puppy!! love your little junk journal too!!
I love soft cover journals, so I've been using my bubble wrap envelopes to make journals for my Xmas presents. As you've shown, magazines seem to be a wonderful resource for journal covers and this one turned out gorgeous! I will definitely be giving the magazine cover a try. PSA FOR MY PAPER OUTPOST FELLOW FANS AND FRIENDS: JoAnn Fabrics is having a 50% off sale on the Crop-a-dile Big Mouth; with an extra 25% off coupon for store pick up, I finally just got mine today for an obscenely low price.
Just a question .... maybe two. 1) do those you make journals for appreciate them and use them? 2) when do you start making them? (I guess that would depend on size and amount of content!)
@@ruthannepayler6969 hi Ruth. I have gifted a few single signature journals, with lots of goodies and journaling cards and raggedy notebooks tucked in them, since I started my journey, to some of my friends who love to write and draw; so those little treasures have been well loved and used. I've also been getting requests from other friends and family because they just love the idea of having a chunky book of thoughts with so many fun things to add to them. I started making three large journals and an accountant folio back in August so that they are ready for Xmas. The folio is for my husband and I am having a blast with that one. 😂 I hope this answers your questions. Thank you for reaching out. Have a blessed day. ☺️🙏
WOW, Pam, you do so many wonderful, beautiful ideas with regards to journaling. Just ❤️ 😍 💖 ❣️ 💕 💘 lovely. Thank you so much for creating and sharing the process of making journals. I am just beginning, so all your inspiration and information is so helpful. Thank you again!!!
Thanks Pam. 💕 all your videos!! I have viewed the older and newest ones even from a couple years ago. I save my go to videos for reference.
A beautiful journal. Always love your videos Pam and Sunny 🌷
Sunny: "I already delivered some goods this morning." LOL
Oh Pam, I love your video’s and your great humor. As for your sewing machine stitches, if you don’t use the type of bobbin that the machine requires it will not stitch correctly and I think your machine uses a plastic bobbin.
You make me laugh every time I watch. Plus I look forward to 'Sun Bun's report each video.
Hi Pam, when you said undine I think that word in normal English means undead. It’s the spirits that are earth bound meaning they have left something they should have done before they passed and they seek out a loved one to complete the task so they can rest in peace. If I’m wrong I apologise. Love the journal idea. Sunny is as cute as a bug.🌹❤️🦋
Cool journal and sweet digikits..........😻
I just love your channel, you are so real and so funny! It's refreshing to see you try new things on the fly and that things don't have to be perfect to look great! Thanks 💜☺️. P.S. Sunny is adorable! My bearded dragon is named Sunny!
Question, why can't I watch someone who has a clean desk? Love watching. Thanks for all the ideas!
J'adore ❤️
You're amazing. Creativity, imagination,...so fast 😅👊
Action/ reaction 🔥🔥🔥 and the result is wonderful 🤷♀️❤️
Pam sunny is so cute;)I just love your style I get so many good ideas to use everyday material..
Late to the party as usual, but I love this one, cute and fun. Thank you Xx😁💜
Thank you for sharing your quick and easy way to use up the digikits. Great ideas. 😍👍 Sunshine, after your bath, you're going to be ready to snuggle up with. If I could, I could hold you and love you and call you my own 😀
Love this ~ im inked with pink ~ gurlkrush, the "quickie" this was, the bestest 😊
LOVE little sunshine :)
Thank you for all your wonderful ideas.
LOVED THIS VIDEO VERY MUCH-TFS-HUGS/BLESSINGS
I love how Sunny's eyes get so big when you said shower, lol.
Good morning Miss Pam. I love how you make the Simplist things so beautiful! And so quickly. I have a question which I have been scouring you tube for answers. I thought if anyone would have a good answer it would probably be you. I have amassed a great deal of paper which would cost me a fortune to take to a place that shreds them. Yes I know that I can burn it but I wonder if I can make journals with them. Any thoughts (please?)
Mornin' Pam. Kawinkidink (sp?) is a term I use quite often. I just don't know how to spell it.😆 Love that digi kit...great images. TFS Regards to the menagerie and Papa too. Hope you all have a great day. 🌞
Here’s an idea for the future: fold each page length wise; then glue the individual pages…each page starts out stronger!
Made my day starting with Pamisms. I love knowing what to do with magazines I buy. And it is true. Pam is actually one of the only junk journal crafter I watch who uses actual junk and old papers.
Love it. Thanks Pam blessings!
I was at the craft store and thought how cool it would be if you showed us how to make some jewelry display cards for our earring, bracelets and necklaces... just thinking!
Gotta love your organized chaos, only you know where things are.
Thanks Pam, you brighten my day 😊 and I love your little journal 💕🌸💕
Hi, I love your video. All of a sudden I found this one, it's from a while back, but I really liked it. And I love your personality. You crack me up and I love that and your little sunshine is adorable. Thank you and I will subscribe for sure! ❤️
Update. The class I'm teaching to make junk journals is going swimmingly. One lady youtubed junk journal ahead of class and has made her cover so far. It's so fun and exciting sharing the joy of junk journal making. I am going to make a list of my favorite youtube channels for my class to study at home while I'm gone for surgery. Hugs to all
Love your creativity. Hi to Sunny
I just love your videos! I learn so much and I laugh alot!
Pam it's just lovely 🐞 I hope your Christmas was awesome 🎄☃️
Pam you're amazing
You really think outside the box. This is so cool. Easy to do. Thanks for sharing.
This is beautiful, just ordered and looking forward to Journaling. Great job, love your videos ❤
Hi Pam! I made a couple cereal box journals to use for ephemera. But in the process I found that I like soft journals better. So now I make them out of 9x12 or 10x13 envelopes (that I mail things in). They're sturdy & work great!! Thanks for the video!
Very cute little journal Pam and a great easy tutorial for beginners to see how you can make a junk journal with relived or recycled materials and very few supplies.
The Undines digi kit is beautiful! I love your Irish accent. You are always so funny!!! 😂😂😂 I love that you craft like me…we are lazy pants! It just can’t be helped, our brains are zooming with fun ideas! Basic lasagna is still yummy. Beautiful journal!!! Poor Sunny, it’s shower time! Love to Pam, Sunny and the crafting fam! ❤
Very cute it would make a great January daily Merry Christmas 🤶
Material scissors can be sharpened easily by folding 3-4 thicknesses of aluminum foil together and slice through it 4-5 times. Perfect to repurpose the scissors. Back to material cutting. Where there’s a will there’s a way!😅
Great way to use up those magazines too. I get at least one every day in the mail. I totally enjoyed the use of the digikit and will definitely be using these ideas. Best to you this week, take care and thank you so much for the ideas.
I looked up Undine on Wikipedia! Fascinating!
i love to save the junk mail brochures - i have an envelope full of them - all different sizes - they are wonderful to alter into any type of junk journal - i really love how you transformed this one Pam - thank you and be well xx
YESS!! Thank you for this video!! I love it, I recieve soo many of these junk mail magazines and always was wondering how I can use them, so now I'm super excited to try this:))
What a super journal.....he's so darncute.......!!!!💕
I’ve saved several magazines hoping to be using them for a junk journal 👍
Hi pm, love using magazines for making all kinds of goodness! Never thought to make a cover. Very nice , love the lace. Thanks so much for sharing take care 🙏❤️🤗 Hugs to you
I've been wanting to do this with the Costco coupon books...good slimline size 😉
That was great❤❤❤❤❤❤
I love the crazy stitching myself.I’d add to it😍
Great ideas!
Beautiful love this journal ♥️
Hello Pam & Sunshine, so cute his eyes got so big when you mentioned shower, so adorable. My cat Charlie had to go to the vet for claw trimming, he has been sulking under the bed since we got home. Love the journal, so pretty with all the lace. TFS
Fun creation , thanks . In my experience ,before you buy a new pair of quality fabric scissors, check if they can be professionally sharpened, some brands can be (not all) .
Hi Pam 😊
What a wonderful idea !!
Thank you ❤
I love those digitals. So very beautiful. You have so many great ideas Pam. Most of us have a magazine or two lying around. Thanks for all the wonderful inspiration. ❤
Love the Undine pics. I was in a school play (50yrs ago !) about Undine. Can't remember much about it, just lots of blue and green chiffon dangling about to represent water. I probably forgot my lines - I usually did :D
Pam..love all of your ideas and jokes. Have learned so much from your tutorials. I had wonder what to do with magz..but thier texture wonder me.
A great idea Pam, maybe the sewing machine would have been happier with a long straight stitch lol x
I love that !
OMG, I just found your channel! I love that junk journal that you made. I didn’t quite understand the concept of them, but you made it come to life. I love your narration of the project and the ending. 🐶Thank you so much for sharing.
❤ the video
Hello Pam I find my table clusters easy when crafting..
Thank you for showing the sewing part of sewing pages 😜. I have my mothers old (brand new in the box) Brother sewing machine, that I intend to thread up today and start using…..I’m scared…..😬😬😬😬
New subbie here! Fun haul Thanks so much for sharing.
