🤩 I have been using my cuttlebug mat for embossing with the Gemini since I got it 😂 when AG came out with the Empress, I bought the big mat. It's perfect every time! The flimsy one that CC gave us cut clean through with the correct sandwich. My machine just has so much pressure. Luckily I have a BigKick for my Sizzix 3D impression folders. My Gemini shoots them out of every sandwich I've tried. It doesn't reject them, they just slip out the front and the plate & shim go through the machine 😂🤣
Definitely will try this on a recent purchase of Sizzix Winter Snowflakes embossing folder. Hoping it will work as it's a beautiful folder. Thanks for your video.
Thanks so much for the wonderful tutorial! I have several of the embossing folders and didn't use because they are so thick. I'll be using my embossing folders moving forward. Of course I'll also test as I know each machine is different. Take care! 💖

I did the metal shim alone to use embossing folders (other than hers) with the AG Empress ...just like that, and the metal shim curled so badly, it popped the front flap thing off from the front of the Anna Griffin Emress! I used the Anna Griffin embossing folder like they said to for the Gemini II, but had to use the magnetic mat to get the full impression. I am loving it so far. Now I will try the dies. Thank you for the tips! I do not want to ruin the magnetic mat.
Hello! 🤗 I hope it helps! Those Sizzix ones were a pain to figure out . The AG, easy once you have the correct mat. I do prefer the easiness of putting my regular 3D folders thru, with just the plate,folder, magnetic and plastic shim I have always gotten such great results. 🙂 Pop me a comment if you have any difficulties at all. 👍💕

Try it according to the instructions first. The Gemini folders (3D) work great without the magnetic mat, however, my one and only Anna G 3D folder needed the magnetic mat. It was lovely! The mats and plastic plates are going to warp and mark up. That is life. But on other machines, rotating them helps them last. I have to read the GemII instructions yet about that. I saw the video about fixing the plastic plates with boiling water. I hope that works on my BIG kick sheets! They are so bad because i wasn't paying attention. Anna used a steamer thing on her magnetic mat that fixed it! I will try wet towels. Those gizmos are pricey.

Hello Pam! 🤗 You can try doing a spritx of water (both sides) or wipe both sides with a baby wipe and then run it thru. It does work, I am just too lazy to bother most times 😂 Also, make the paper just slightly smaller than the folder. Maybe one of those ideas will help. I love embossing folders, make such pretty backgrounds. 😍
Thank you I had one sizzix 3D embossing folder I could not get to work in my OG but this worked I did have to use 2 cardstock shims thank you so much. I also have some Anna dies I struggle with also. So I am going to try your way for those also thanks so much

Hi Emma! 🤗 You may want to try to switch up the layers a bit? Maybe use extra card stock instead of the metal? Also, I have seen people lay the metal shims under heavy books, curring machines...to get them to flatten out. Mine is only a little warped so I just keep using it as is. My sandwich of.plates may look silly but as long as it keeps working...👍😅💕

It's a cutting plate then the folder then the magnetic shim then the frosty plastic shim for a 3D folder no need for metal

Can you get the metal to make your own metal shims at a hardware store. They have various thicknesses.
