As someone who has worked in the service industry, having the back halls is actually really helpful. You can move your equipment/catering carts/laundry hampers quickly and easily without awkwardly bumping into any guests. If you get a break you can have your snacks/drinks/smoke safely out of sight without being pestered by guests. You can have ad hock meetings with other staff to co-ordinate catering and entertainment.
It might seem like the separation of class is socially mean, but the separate space is functionally useful.
Like working a job that doesn't have it, I've had to wait for a guests to finish their 20min cocktail conversation before they moved away so I could move my trolley 5 meters to the set up location.
...and if you are catering one of those roast pigs it's just weird dragging a dead hog right through the middle of a cocktail party.
Before anyone says but can't you do it earlier? You don't get paid for pre-prep time. No one else will be there to let you in the building earlier. Plus you don't want food sitting around for hours. You need to bring that stuff in fresh just before the dinner gets cooked which is usually just when guests are arriving and starting cocktails.
The back halls are very useful for staff. It means we can do our jobs quickly and easily without bumping into guests.
That first guy was DESPERATE to talk someone into buying that apartment
He 100% knows the house isn’t that great but it’s his job so
Imagine spending nearly 30 million $ and you have to crank the window open like in a 1990 Lada.
Most houses this expensive are literally only valuable for people who own and sell property, otherwise there’s barely anything about the space that makes it worth that price for an actual living space unless you’re completely fine wasting that money for some sort of “reputation” and bragging rights.
@@zsfekete5211 Fucking hand cranks
I kinda feel sorry for him. He seemed so excited about the building shape for knobs. More excited than one should be. He kinda reminds me of that guard from Mr. Robot who posts pictures with his cat :(
I liked how at the Dubai house they kept referring to everything as "private". Just incase people forget their home is not open to the public.
Wait, yours isn't?
Legit.....lol like is the bedroom public
Yeah that tour was terrible lol. They were really bad at selling the features as actually upscale so they just kept saying private 50 times.
8:00 ok so my job is to clean windows and I can tell you that they haven't cleaned that window in over a year if not 3. The other option is that NY is so poluted that it gets dirty like that pretty quick. In which case it's bad because they won't be cleaned often at that height.
Nah I live in nyc, our air pollution is relatively low, for a large city anyways
Something is just very wrong with that apartment. Everything about it is so wrong, idk who designed it.
well, they did say it was still under construction, so they might have just not gotten to it yet. Either that or it's like every other billionaire-tower in NYC, and just used as hotel room/investment property while the owner lives in Hampton
Surely that's a texture. That's way too uniform to be dirt.

23:10 The reason the snow room is much wanted is because Dubai is so close to the equator they do not get snow a lot and some would like too feel it if they do not like to travel or this isn't just an extra home.

23:22 As a person living in Dubai, the people here lose their head over snow for some reason. Therefore, it makes sense for a $22 mil house to have a snow maker thing. That is almost as big of a flex as owning a tiger.
I live in Abu Dhabi, was just thinking, why not just travel to your mansion in Switzerland to experience snow and come back if you have 30 mil

The one thing that unites rich and poor people is having to look at construction outside of your window
Nah I just live in a suburb of a small city of 12k, theres construction but not by me
I used to do yardwork for a millionaire, he had a massive house and so much land, it was so weird to see how he lived, a huge house, three pounds connected by a waterfall with coy fish in the bottom, a shooting range, it really was cool to tend to the property
8:17 gave me a heart attack, I thought someone was remote accessing my computer lmao
Ah yes let me just buy a house that costs millions of dollars with rooms I will never use
for the servants
Yes, but there are hallways for the peasants
The poor/ common folk will be satisfied with those rooms. I think, idk what goes through the poor's heads
the European homes that are that large is because 3 generations would live in the house
depends on the location or the owners original culture cause in some cultures people from multiple generations live together so sometimes you can easily end up with a lot of relatives in 1 house
About the view in the Dubai house: It looks cool now because you can see the skyline, but once construction is finished all you'll see is your neighbor's shisha lounge.
was thinking the samething
Fun fact:
Inverted Viking ship was the only Swedish thing about the last one, because the Vikings built buildings like that so when Ragnarok came they could flip the building and sail to the battlefield of doom
I know a a couple whom loved to play Sims, so they built their dream home in Sims (tested it worked and was all efficient) and handed the model to an archetect, who copied the model into properly dimentioned plans to build the the home exactly as they wanted.
Incidentally, that was the original intent of the Sims creators; to make a dev testing tool for archetects. it just turned out to also be really fun to play. 🤣
(Could build a welcome hall, with flashing signs that say "I'm a youtuber, please have doughnut and chill for a bit, I'll be down in a minute." and an automatic doughnut and coffee maker, and speakers that play calming elvator music.)
That entrance room to the Spanish house is bigger than my apartment.
I was gonna say the same thing
The cinema is bigger than my apartment lol
In the middle east, there's some malls that have "snow rooms" since it doesn't snow here. They tend to have ski areas, snowball fight areas, and basically anything fun that you can do with snow. In the case of the Sweden mansion in Dubai, I'd assume a rich person wouldn't want to enjoy snow with "the poor", so a private snow room does sort of make sense.
That's kinda dumb lmao
Also, In the Swedish/Finnish tradition you roll around naked in snow to cool off after the sauna. But here's the bad parts:
1. The dragon head on the boat is upside down. Plus you remove the scary head when not attacking an enemy town.
2. In Dubai, premarital and extramarital sex gets you thrown in prison. So no point having features for enjoying that.
I guess my thing is if you're so rich you can afford a private island for 22 million, just fly to fucking Sweden. I'd honestly rather have a $1,000,000 home and spend the other 29 million traveling and doing shit.
i cracked up laughing when I saw the snow room literally a room full of snow.
That snow room was absolutely pathetic though. I mean, c'mon...a tiny room with no space and a basic pile of machine made snow in the middle, clearly on floor, not even spread out and wall paper to imagine a snowy forest. Not even any room to put a lounge chair or anything to spend time in the room. Pathetic.
I NEED that second house it was just insane, especially the guide was having a good day, also looks like a sick place to do any activity like skateboarding and frisbee.
The Dubai one seems so uncomfortable, giant empty rooms, awful beds....as long as it's expensive and from a big brand.
All I want to know is if 30 mil can make us friends again

Yep, window should open at top, leaning into the room. Also needs a way to get picked up by firefighter tall vehicle in case of a 9/11 style disaster. Smashing the window and jumping didn't work so well in those towers.
@@johndododoe1411 tbh in those towers they knew they were gonna die and jumped anyways
@@yourmumschancla3953 Exactly, but they wouldn't if a fire fighter ladder had reached their floor. But somehow New York allows building higher than their fire department can reach.
@@johndododoe1411 Is it even possible to construct a portable ladder that will reach that high? One that would actually be structurally sound?
@@paisleesheppard5629 Yeah same. And even if they could make one like that or just any type that COULD go that high, I'm assuming it would take waaaay too long to get to the top. I dunno there's just no way I can think of to make it effective which is probably why one doesn't exist yet. The snow room is so you can cool off your skin after the sauna. In the alpines in Europe you have snow on the mointain where you are in the sauna so you can just walk outside and go right into the snow. This somehow helps your immune system and also tightens your skin I think. Thats why they have the snow room.
Guy showing the spanish mansion was really good, also another problem with 3rd one, you'd need to already own a yact/boat to get to and from it.
