    Never run a portable generator when your boat is in motion. A formula for disaster.

    Missing that genny today. Lol. It’s on our list to have. Main gen, inverter, portable gen.

    I have the Harbor Freight Predator model. Same thing, about half the price. No problems.

    I have the same generator boss. Love it man….but it does not run my AC(18,000 bcu, but then again I did not turn off all the other draws I will flip the switches and check it out this year!)
    Great video!

      Thank you so much. I don’t think a lot of people understand what they can do with a small generator like that our new system we run it we run our AC unit with it brother thank you so much and I appreciate the support on CZcams.❤️👍🏻🙏😉☝️

    I always wondered if you plug a portable solar generator and plug it into shore power would you be able to run your electronics. looks like it would work

    How long will that Honda generator run on a full tank? And how much fuel does the tank hold?

    • @NoRegretsLifestyle
      @NoRegretsLifestyle  Před 2 lety +1

      one quart running only the refrigerator 8hr running A/C and ref about 5 hrs

    Would have been nice had you stated the BTU of the AC. OK! Would have been nice had you stated the draw of the hot water heater too. But,,,,you state you could not run the battery charger(s) and again no draw or discharge rate on those as well. Rather deft presentation here man. No talk of the how much fuel the thing is using either. My estimates of a Honda 2000/2200 (now) is that they produce 5.3 KWH on a single gallon of gasoline tops. That is about 40% or more LESS than a small diesel generator. Yes, I have learned to use WATT HOURS as a definitive. It makes the math somewhat easier when plotting this sort of thing. IF you want to run a 14000 BTU AC for sleeping for 8 hours you will most likely need an external tank and one of those nifty things that allow you to suck fuel from a 5 gallon or whatever fuel cans. Otherwise you will be going topside to re-fill the 1 gallon (whatever) tank of that generator in the middle of the night. This of course depends on the AC compressor cycling percentage. It makes the math somewhat easier when plotting this sort of thing by using WATTS/KW,,,,whatever. IF you want to run a 14000 BTU AC for sleeping for 8 hours even on 50% compressor duty cycle you will need an external tank. They call that compressor run time a DUTY CYCLE BTW. In this situation on a 50' vessel that will most likely be a 100% duty cycle unless it is zoned to smaller quadrant of the vessel. You ain't running any 14000 BTU AC (If that can even be done on these units) with a 100% duty cycling of the compressor over night on any .9 gallons of fuel. IF you have sectioned off the climate control systems so that ONLY the V-berth is being cooled then things get a whole lot better than to try to cool an entire 50' vessel. Otherwise you will be going topside to re-fill the 1 gallon (whatever) tank of that generator in the middle of the night and probably TWICE a night. I have another report of a 7k BTU AC running on one of those and it had to be linked to an external tank to provide a full night's sleep in 90 degree FLA nights on a like a 27' vessel. Just because it can run something for a bit does not make it alright for any and all applications of similar appliances. There is just so much missing here. I once ran a 454 Chevy engine on a single cup of gasoline and that worked too! This posting is as bad as it gets.

      The point of the video was to talk about why you might want to have one and what we were able to run. these Genarators come in handy and I use them when a boat or RV to save money and time on my big genarator.

      Wow. You know I actually found this video pretty helpful.
      Instead of dogging the guy by writing an entire book on why you don't like his video, why don't you come up with a better video then? Or alternatively just move on? Geesh man... Cut him some slack.
