Yean it's been very expensive for a decades now. And for VERY small chickens compared to, say, Popeyes last time I ate there, whose breasts were huge in comparison. And their sides are possibly even more overpriced. I used to really like their coleslaw, but no way I'm paying that kind of insane price for a little dollop of some sauced cabbage.
I haven't been to the local KFC for years because the employees had a bad attitude.
There are probably different employees now. Rare for anyone to stay for more than a year or two unless you are management.
I haven't been to KFC in years because the chicken is better virtually everywhere else.

I have nothing against KFC's food, or staff, except that one time they didn't provide napkins or utensils with a drive-thru pickup order -- we drove to a park where we planned on eating at a picnic table. Uh, hey, KFC, how were we supposed to eat mashed potatoes and gravy without any utensils? Etc. That was a long time ago and I'm still ticked about it today. 😆
KFC is overpriced.. Small pieces of chicken 🐔 for a lot of money 💰.. And KFC lost it years ago.
Used to love KFC years ago. Now you get small chicken at a higher price. That's if you're lucky if they have chicken available.
I have been in the store, ordered at the counter, paid. Then the employee turns around in place and says I’m sorry, we don’t have any chicken. Well then give me my money back, and then they say oh no I can’t do that. I recently went on yelp, and the same scam is still being played at all the different locations in town.

I am a quality control trainer for a government agency and I always use the comparison of the consistency of products being sold between McDonalds and KFC as an example. I have worked from the east coast to the west coast and can expect the exact same, consistent product at McDonalds whereas KFC will vary at the different restaurants; consistency is the key. McDonald's a more sustainable business model.

Being that spice prices are very high, it stands to reason that the owners would want to slowly reduce the spice content to cut costs and maximize their profits - especially after the Colonel had passed away. KFC back in the 50's and 60's really did have a unique wonderful flavor - I'm 77 now and still remember it well .

Bought in bulk, they get a heck of a lot cheaper. And losing customers because you can't deliver on your promise of taste that your customers have gotten used to is extremely expensive. But I guess if the typical corporate zombie has to choose between crashing the company or increasing quarterly profits so he can profit more off his stock options and enable more stock buy-backs, we might as well throw quality out the window and assume customers are too dumb to care. I've seen a number of even bought-out mom and pop restaurants tank according to similar logic -- customers be damned, let's increase profits!

Honestly…who goes to a fast food restaurant and expects to eat healthy? It’s about the flavor and the price - if it doesn’t have good flavor or costs too much, it’s just not going to sell. At KFC, product quality has gone down while price has gone up. That’s just not a successful - or sustainable - business model.
They briefly had a white gravy that was much better...I started ordering with no gravy.
KFC's biggest draw is their tender chewy original recipe that other fried chicken restaurants just dont do. Everyone wants theirs to be some hard crispy thing that can't leave the bone
Everyone just wants the salty hard crust...and spicy if possible. I saw customers get angry in Popeyes b/c all the spicy chicken was sold out (so they said....I bet a lot leaves with workers at closing)....and customer service is about same. Service with an attitude. I stay away from those grease traps. Anyone ever wonder why Chik-Fil-A draws more customers...By Far?.
I knew two people who worked at a KFC in my iowa town... I also knew the county health inspector. All 3 commented to me about the... very unsanitary and unhealthy practices and lack of routine cleaning. I stopped eating there and actually won't visit my local KFC in Michigan.

Grilled chicken was great until it was discontinued.
As a kid I loved KFC original recipe, because that's all they had. Then in my teens I tried Church's, with a jalapeño. Delicious! Then in my 40s I tried Popeye's. WOWEEEEE! That place stole my chicken heart. I haven't been to any other chicken joint since, and I doubt I will, unless a Raising Cane's shows up nearby.
I was SOOOO impressed with Popeye's after KFC! Absolutely huge pieces in comparison, well-cooked, very decent price.

The last time I went to KFC was about a decade ago. There were 2 people on staff - one was trying to work both a massive line inside of the restaurant & a massive drive-thru line, and the other was just kinda... farting around in the kitchen, she wasn't even cooking or cleaning. The lady working the crowd kept asking the other one to help her, sounding more & more desperate, yet the other one didn't even budge. After that, I gave up on going there at all, and unsurprisingly, it closed years ago along with about 2/3rds of the KFCs in my area.

after years i went back to try a kfc. i waited around 40 minutes and finally an employee asked why i was sitting there. (not "can i help you"). i said i was waiting for an order and told them my code. he said they called it and would have to make a new order. i found that hard to believe because i was not looking at my phone or their tv. i was just sitting there waiting for them to call my name. not a very friendly place. so that was over a year ago and it's still pretty fresh in my mind. 😞 now i'm kinda curious about that sanders place the video mentioned that makes it the original way...
Ridiculous prices for the quality and quantity of the food. That's the biggest reason.

When I was a kid KFC used to have the "keel" pieces, which I loved. I don't think they cut them that way any more.
The last 13 years fast food has had the worst customer service, quality and worth. I went into Popeyes and they got pissed I walked through the doors. I felt like I was interupting them. That being said, the customers are just as bad. I think the location on where you get your fast food matters more than ever. Don't get fast food in shitholes no matter the chain.
I grew up on KFC thanks to it being my grandma's favorite and that there were plenty of stores around in my hometown (St. Louis), but these days, KFCs are few and far between and Church's, Popeye's, and Lee's all kind of stepped up and filled the void. As a result, I haven't been to a KFC in nearly 20 years, and I'm not too inclined to fill up my gas tank drive all across town to my nearest one when there are multiple (and better) alternatives, .
Glad they showed sexy Japanese Colonel Sanders. Here in Japan they actually try harder at KFC. The food is a bit better and they regularly have really good special items. Strawberry white chocolate pie and black pepper spicy chicken are my favorites. It does suck that they don't have mashed potatoes and gravy or Mac and cheese (even if it is sub par). The service is, of course, LEAGUES BETTER. Your order is fast, accurate and the people are super nice. I rarely ate at KFC in the States but here I go there pretty regularly (when I wanna drive 45 minutes since I live in the middle of nowhere lol
I’m still fascinated how KFC became a Christmas tradition in Japan. At least you don’t have to spend all day cooking a turkey or ham.
Chicken is much smaller ... but the main thing is the oil change makes chicken oilier and bitter. I loved the mixed bean salad so they got rid of it too.
I only ate the honey bbq wings. when the took those off the menu it was a wrap for me.
The last time we dined in at a KFC was the last time! As I took a bite of my meal I saw a cockroach crawling on the bench behind my daughter! When I complained and demanded my money back, all they said was "what do you expect when you have an exterminator come in here?" Really?
I'll tell you my reason the KFC location near me isn't popular with me : unprofessional unmotivated employees who give attitudes when you order. Why are they even there if taking our orders bring them so much discomfort?
I ate at KFC recently. It was soggy, bland, and generally unpleasant. Was the last time I ate their too. I just avoid them now. They're nowhere near good enough to justify their prices anymore.
The chicken at KFC in Puerto Rico tastes and smells rotten. The coleslaw is always sour, and the locations are beyond nasty.
To me a piece of chicken is an identifiable one we all know -- breast, wing, thigh, drumstick, back. I'll even allow "tender," part of the breast, if I'm in an exceptionally good mood. KFC lost me when I started finding indecipherable "pieces" in their buckets and boxes. What the heck was that oddly shaped this-or-that? Not a piece I've ever seen anywhere before ...
I used to love KFC but they have been going steadily downhill where I live. They have gotten rid of everything healthy on the menu including grilled chicken, corn, green beans and other good sides. They are greasy and dirty inside and the food tastes awful with an extremely high price tag.
I tried their new Chicken Nuggets last night and ordered it extra crispy. When I got home 10 minutes later I had a bunch of soggy chicken. I won’t go back!
What happened to KFC is that they don't pressure cook their chicken anymore, they Straight fry the chicken.

They all reduced the size of the pieces and the prices, but there's no excuse for eliminating all the herbs and spices that gave KFC its distinctive taste. "Secret recipe" apparently is just tons of salt. Bojangles makes good fried chicken, but the quality varies so much from franchise to franchise that I don't trust them. I used to like the fried chicken made at the Stop 'n' Shop supermarket, but I no longer live in their region and can't vouch for the quality today.

I live a few miles away from 1st KFC. Have not been in years now. Last time I went I waited 30 min in drive Thur and got a meal I could not eat it was so bad. Even the drink was watered down and nasty. Have not been back. Can’t afford to pay so much for nasty food…..Used to be good price and good years ago.
KFC chicken is not that go anymore
KFC was awesome and unmatched in the 70's and 80's. A full, heaping bucket for $6 could not be held under the lid. They have a patented cut of their chicken, which many recognize by the "spine cut" on the bird. Sad they now have to cut up little, young, premature small chickens and let them sit to get cold and soggy under heat lamps because no one comes in to buy them as often. I would gladly spend $30 for a FULL bucket of the mixed original chicken, considering it was ONLY ONE BIRD, 2 of each part. Sadly 6 biscuits on the bottom, can no longer get the bucket full. Never been back, never will...
I miss old KFC, now I just look for "El Pollo Loco" for my chicken needs.
IMO the single worst chain for quality control. I’ve had chicken that’s inedible. When it’s mad just right, it’s great.

KFC changed their recipe for the worst in the late 80's. It used to be succulent inside with a crunchy outer coating. Now it's slimy and you WILL feel ill if you eat more than one piece.
Around August 2022 the Australian restaurants changed recipe again. The burgers don't resemble the old kfc at all, they're smaller and cost 30% more.

I havnt had kfc in probably 15 years so I cant really have an opinion but I remember the chicken being wet like so greasy it was soggy so I never went back in my adult life, HOWEVER they are still one of the ONLY places with brown gravy for whatever reason and THAT stuff is magic I swear😂
KFC went to corn because of no more grilled chicken? NO! Too lazy to warm up cobbettes,small corn on the cob! They done away with corn on the cob,so now I don't go to KFC that much anymore.....
The taste may not be as good, but the portions (size of the chicken and mystery pieces) were smaller. Haven't been at the chain for 15 years. Better chicken everywhere else.
The KFC in Ephrata PA is always filthy. The one in Wyomissing has an Employee that gives you a death stare while your ordering. I haven't been in a KFC for over a decade because of this.
Taking away Nashville hot, the taste of the regular and xtra crispy, the mashed potatoes and gravy bring the only good side, but even that has way too much salt/sodium……they’ve got massive problems. Maybe listen to the maker instead of suing him would have been the better option.
Here in Ontario (Ottawa) KFC chicken is exceedingly greasy/fatty/slimy compared to Mary Brown's or Popeyes... don't know if its the supplier of the chicken or they way the cook it. In addition to echo many other KFC chicken parts are smaller in comparison

when the colonel was in charge he had a quality store with delicious chicken. I remember those days. I am 70 now and its crap. He sold out to franchises and it started to go down hill from there.
Not putting enough of the bagged secret recipe in which makes it diluted with flour= no zingy spicy taste. The chickern isnt pressure cooked any more it is deep fried which makes it greasy. The chicken is not grade A. its cheap fatty chicken. The colonel is rolling in his grave and would be discusted if he were alive today to see this.
Quality has gone way down. It's just not as good as it used to be. Plus the price is way to high. Used to be my go to fired chicken, but not any more. It's to bad.

The title of the video should specify KFC in the United States; in Asia, and particularly East Asia (e.g., Japan, China), KFC is actually doing acceptable there. Granted, KFC has a monopoly there, but overall, to say that KFC's days are numbered is inaccurate.
I recently went to my favorite KFC and was very disappointed. They use to have good chicken here , but it was very dry and extremely greasy I will give it one more chance in the future and if it hasn't changed, I will go to wingstop or canes in the future I prefer good food and am willing to pay for it, not junk.
Kentucky Fried Chicken is never on my radar when I want fried chicken.

The KFC in Lemon Grove (just outside San Diego proper) is not very impressive at all. Not overly clean, not very good. Last time I was there, I ordered some Nashville Hot chicken strips. The hot, instead of being cooked into the strips, was a packet of sauce that tasted like a severely reduced power Tabasco. However, the chicken was most disappointing. Dry, not at sll crispy, and stale. Month old open potato chips stale. I haven't been back for about 7 years now. Chick-fil-A ftfw everyday, and twice on Sunday if I could.

Well 1) the food sucks, the chicken is rarely done and is always super greasy. 2) the service sucks. Our location never has food ready, you cannot go inside and after you order and pay they tell you to pull around and they will bring your food out. 10-15 minutes later…. 3) their chicken (any of it) is just not any good any more period. 4) they no longer carry green or baked beans (I was like WTF???) and 4) they are way too expensive for the crap they serve.
It used to be good years ago but once they changed the recipe for their hot wings the rest went down hill.

I finally got the KFC sandwich a few days ago. It was so bland, it was my first time ordering KFC chicken since 2016 and it was bad had to wait like 15 minutes to receive my meal. I will never go to KFC ever again. Also why in the fuck would they change to soybean oil. If I am gonna eat fried chicken I’d rather not pretend to be healthy just use lard to fry the chicken because people are not eating fried fast food to be healthy just let us choose.

Well everything they have that worth going there they have gotten rid of. They got rid of spicy chicken which allowed Popeyes in the game. They got rid of the grilled chicken they next downfall.
KFC isn't that bad. If anything the cost is outrageous but the chicken is about what I expect for a fast food restaurant. Now maybe in the US it sucks but KFC actually does alright outside the UNITED STATES 😊
