A year later and this video is still useful. Thanks again!
bro came here to say this, this helped so much
Super happy to hear this!
Thanks for the education. I'm recently back in the hobby. An trying to get as educated as I can. Like I said I've pulled 2 gold waves. One was a Bones Hyland rated rookie that I've at least seen on ebay. The other was a Zion Williamson express lane that I've never seen it that parallel. Thanks so much!!
Very cool. That Bones is a great pull, imo. Zion solid too, but as a 4th insert parallel, wouldn't be for me.
Great video, I always wanted to know the parallel tiers, I was so confused. This video explains it so simple and direct. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
@@Gravydog316 what I would recommend doing is signing up for a free account on comc.com. Look up prizm purple or pink or whatever parallel it is from the year of your card and compare the different variations on that website. That's what I do if I'm not sure.
I’m so happy I collected before the hobby turned into a Cracker Jack prize hobby.
I hear ya. The number of these parallels has gotten completely out of hand.
Awesome video! Please do NFL Prizm and Optic as well. Appreciate your knowledge and thoroughness.
Alright, I've put it on the list.
Doesn’t Panini make a guide . How the hell do they expect us to be able to figure it out?
On the boxes for each product, they do list things. And they probably have that same resource on their website somewhere (I don't know though). But it's not presented well anywhere I know of. And finding actual pictures of all the parallels anywhere is not something I've seen them do anywhere.
I always come back to this video as it really helps me. Thank you!
Is there a video/page that tells you where each of the different parallels can be found?
For a given product-configuration, sure, I can look at the box. But I want to go the other way. Given a certain color parallel, which configurations can possibly contain it.
Also, is there a video on basketball: Select, Optic, Mosaic, etc?
I'm glad this is a helpful resource for you! I was hoping this video would be useful in just the way your describing.
For the kinda website your asking about, I think tcdb.com may be the closest to what your looking for, though I don't know if they say specifically what is in like retail vs hobby or anything like that. I'm not actually sure of anything that specifies that sort of thing very well. If you ever do find anything like that, let me know and I can share it with others through my channel here. What your asking for sounds like a useful resource that I've never seen anywhere.
I also like to use COMC to see what the different parallels look like, since they've pretty much hosted every kind of variation at some point or another.
I don't actually have any other video like this for Select, Optic or anything else. I think that's a good idea for a couple future videos though. Sounds like it could be useful for quite a number of people.
2021 WNBA Prizm also has a Mosaic parallel to /3. I think its /149 in some versions of Nascar Prizm (I know this is basketball and football based, just throwing out some ideas for a future prizm color update).
Appreciate that. I haven't thought about branching out too much further with the parallel guide, but if people watching this channel collected in those areas, I'd be more than willing to put something together.
If u collect wnba i have a few 1/1 /5 /25 /50 that i want to rid of lmk
I just opened 2022 Illusions football and it’s impossible to tell which variations i have. I even tried looking up cards for sale on ebay and even people selling them have different colors listed for the same cards🤯
If I can't figure out a specific color variation, I find COMC to be helpful. I'll pull up tabs with the two or three I think it might be and compare the picture to try to figure it out. It is annoying to have to do that though.
So basically any numbered refractor is good
They can have different 'demand' a bit, and with too many parallels people get more picky about 'demand'.
NFL 💯
Is red wave or ruby wave more sought after? What are the differences between them?
They definitely look very similar. There's a bit of a different tint to the color in each, but it can be hard to tell the different right away. The red waves come from the Tmall Asia exclusive products. So while I'm not sure what the print run is on them compared to something like the ruby wave, the fact that they're an Asia exclusive means a large percentage of them end up in China and in other Asian markets. That often times means they have a bit less supply on eBay and in other US based markets, which can sometimes mean they end up going for a bit higher prices in non-Asia markets than some other unnumbered parallels that may have similar print runs.
Need video on select
I put it on the to-do list. Might be awhile though to be honest.
Got a question, The Panini Prizm red cracked ice cards. If the player is wearing a red jersey, is that automatically considered a color match?
There isn't any official "color match" designation, but I think for people that value color match aesthetics, they'd probably consider a red ice with a red jersey a color match.
So I've recently pulled a couple of Gold Wave parallels out of 2021-2022 tmal optic basketball. I can't find any info regarding print runs etc.
No specific print runs have been shared, as far as I know, but they are quite rare. The red waves are less rare, the gold waves more rare. I notice though since not a lot of people are aware of their rarity, sometimes they seem to go for prices less than it seems they should, at least when auctioned. But I think that is mostly just lack of awareness about their SP or SSP print run.
I have seen people who have tried to estimate in past years, based on comparing PSA pop counts to other serial numbered parallels, and they usually estimate a 50-100 print run. But, those are just guess really, and a lot of the gold waves end up in the Chinese domestic market, where PSA is not used often. So it's hard to say exactly. But that gives a guesstimate at least.
Were you able to determine exactly how many parallels there are of the base set this year? Are there 60 already? 😯
For this video, the total count came out to 55. And I don't know, but I could be missing some things, or maybe different kinds of things will come later too. But, yeah, 55 as far as I can tell.
@@scoa And i thought last year's 40+ was already crazy LOL
@@stixhalibur I know, it's really crazy. I wouldn't be at all surprised if we hit that triple digit realm before Panini hands over the reigns of their licenses.
Can you help please, im new to NFL Prizm and opening up Blasters since no hobby shops here. Anyway i pulled 2 red prizm not numbered in one blaster box. I cant find a single Red Prizm information as far as rarity. its plain no pattern, its a normal Prizm just red. The box says Red/Blue are in set but no figures on how rare these are. cant find a single one on Ebay. Anyway thank you.
Here's a list of all the parallels from 2023 Prizm Football. If it's an unnumbered one from a blaster, it's gonna be one of the less valuable/more common of the parallels. There's a few unnumbered that are rare (snakeskin, white sparklet, etc), but the rest are pretty common:

@@scoa THANK YOU so much for this, my daughter and I have been looking everywhere but just not the right spot. I assumed since theyre retail cheapies they werent expensive but still good to have a idea if printing totals. Thanks again ill sub to say ty. ❤️
@@AtkinsAtelier very cool that you get to collect with your daughter. Glad the list was helpful. Just to let you know where I got in, on COMC.com, if I am looking for the parallels, I just search for the base card and then click on it. And then on the left side is a column with all the parallels listed. I just copy and pasted from there for the list in my comment.
Is the blue fast break prizm worth more than the blue prizm?
Each card has its own forces of 'supply and demand', so there is no blanket answer. But generally yes, because the blue fast break is serial numbered and the blue prizm isn't, it will usually be a decent amount more expensive.
Which color cracked ice unnumbered is rarest?
I'm not actually sure. I'm sure there is a different print run, but I suspect value wise the supply-demand dynamics will probably be similar between the different cracked ice variations. I totally could be wrong, but I think they are kinda lumped together in a lot of people's minds.
Yeah, no thanks... heh heh The only real new idea in all of this (if you can call it that) is the 75th anniversary logo, which actually does look pretty decent. Ramping up parallels is one thing, puttign next to no effort into it from year to year is quite another!
I'm with you on that. I don't expect anything different for awhile though to be honest. Even with Panini out the door relatively soon, doesn't seem like Topps is really much different when it comes to overuse of parallels.

Pls do NFL
Why don’t they just put the name of the parallel on the back of the card?
I really wish they would. I don't know why they don't, but it seems companies in the sports card world, generally, aren't so into the transparency and making things clear thing.
What’s the ranking of a premium factory set any value ?
It's worth more than base, usually, but it's still one of the common-er non numbered parallels, so not too sought generally
