It won’t happen though slipknot is more of a business then a band the closest we’d ever get to reunions would be like how their old guitarist Donnie Steele filled in on bass for Paul for a couple years but that was just touring and they were kinda desperate at the time
I love slipknot, but they did Joey and Chris so wrong. They were part of the reason why they grew into what they are today.
Corny did them both wrong.

@Julian Garcia you are lucky. I got to see them on .5 the Gray Chapter tour in 2015
Its sad that most people dont know that Paul wrote 90% of the riffs for their best album ever made, their Self Titled album... joey and Paul were the main song writers for the band up until pauls death. Cory has taken over and every album has sounded the same for years.... i miss the uniqueness they brought to this world 😢
90 Percent?!? that’s cap mick wrote a lot of riffs too give him his credit, and for the record corey didn’t take over the music writing process that’s Jim, the gray chapter sounds more like old slipknot then ahig did
@Romare Taylor my guy, youtube it mick did some writing on Iowa and vol 3 but Paul and Joey were the soul writers of the first two albums.
@Romare Taylor james* doesn't even like the most recent album. His input was nonexistent. And everything recent sounds exactly the same. Nothing unique about it anymore. That's just my opinion. I could be 100% wrong, but to me they lost that unique sound after Paul's death and Joey's departure
Slipknot sucks now

@@Duma2011 good. Theyve run their course and its sad to see them try to continue what they did 20 years ago
Although jay and tortilla man are great, they can never replace what chris and joey brought to the stage spectacle.
Yes, totally agreeable....but Joey wasn't just a "stage spectacle", he was an artist, a musician, and the driving force of Slipknot along with Paul. Had that band had any other person in that spot: music would not have stood out and some of those famous lyrics/songs/riffs we know and love wouldn't have even existed, along with the iconic percussive grooves that inspired countless other drummers.
Joey is the one who suggested changing the name to Slipknot; who drew the famous tribal S logo; who wrote guitar riffs and lyrics to some of their greatest songs; who brought the band together to make music when they all wanted to f*ck off elsewhere with their egos; and who teamed up with Paul to write a majority of the heaviest album they ever made.
No one could ever replace Joey, or Paul, or Chris....and all of the albums after them have proven that they will always be missing something soulful.
Not trying to be disrespectful to you in anyway, but am rather highlighting how anyone can fill a position but never actually fill in the position.
Bad enough they never visited him in the hospital when he was going through that horrible bacterial disease...but then to fire him after he recovered is just grotesquely self-centered and a grave injustice to him and all of the fans, especially to go on and lie about to everyone in order to keep the corporate entity alive.
They are not great at all they suck. They are not slipknot. Jay is a wannabe Joey and Tortilla is weak too. The new bass play sounds nothing like Paul. So yeah they sucked ever since the gray chapter
@@joshdraken1 that’s what upset me the most about them. Corey wasn’t even an initial member, and yet he fires or kicks them out and the rest of the band doesn’t budge on saying anything. When Joey died, they didn’t do all the things they did for Paul. Corey didn’t go out and get a tattoo, have a benefit concert, or have his uniform and set on stage.. you know he should be thankful that even Jim still wants to play in the group. Considering he already left Stone Sour.
Corey And Shawn Are like the Gene and paul of slipknot.

Everyone knows Corey and Clown own that band, literally!!
Clown is the only founder left and Corey’s been the frontman for 25 years
Dude, if they want to make living out of making, you gotta have a leader and on business side, do you really believe that everyone would be owners of the band? While in garage and you form band, you don’t really think about these things, but when machine starts rolling, you get big, you get tour dates all over the globe, you get a record deal, it has to be branded. I have group of friends who started making living out of making and performing music, they tried to be all owners of the band on paper and it was a mistake for them since they had to pay more taxes and it’s legally much more frustrating, so they made only a drummer an owner, and others are “hired guns”, literally on paper they are session musicians, yet they are all equal between each other
@6sic610 when they finally broke out, there were 9 members, not 2. Those two would never have made it without the whole band. Especially without Joey!
@jonazz48 According to Corey, he and clown own the band, and everyone else is a hired gun. Couldn't be less equal!! We know who's getting all the money clown and Corey
@@waltermiller249 dude did you even read what I said? It’s legally easier to have fewer members as owners of a band simply put.
Slipknot has become nothing more than a corporation. I've loved this band and these guys since 99 when I was 18. Its really sad to see them go from what they stood for back then to the typical generic Rockstar Hollywood types. When you find out that Corey and Shawn basically own the band and every other member is considered hired help it really makes respect for them dwindle. I still like them musically for the most part (TESF wasn't great imo especially since it had 4 Stone Sour songs at the end of it and I was never the guy who compared the two) but I don't love them like I did. Nowhere near. Its really sad when all your heros are dead.
At least Chris can sit back and collect those royalties.
I second this statement as someone who also followed the knot in the early years.
Hell yeah 🤘 couldnt of said it better myself
Clown nearly owns the band but I'm sorry his artistic visions are hot garbage. Not to mention his collaboration with Balenciaga? Like, wtf ? These were the guys who hated on Korn's drummer for being in an ADIDAS ad. I love the band I truly do but Corey's ego is getting out of hand & Shawn is honestly pretty worthless.
@@Knailz Well said! Not only is Corey's ego getting out of hand, his politics also ruined it for me.
"Stone Sour songs?" Bahahahhaha 😅😂
Chris was still in the slipknot I grew up listening to. You’re awesome Chris!
As a longtime maggot, I gotta say that I just wish everyone well. Both current and past members. Long live the 9. Also, RIP Joey and Paul.
Regardless of what Clown claims about why he calls his fans Maggots calling someone a Maggot is to call them a worthless person. His story is total BS.
With Corey saying recently that he basically just goes in and punch in and out, makes me think there is a lot going on behind the scene. Honestly unless things change, im sorta just indifferent to Slipknot now.. the latest album didnt do anything for me
Slipknot has changed a lot and I feel the same way.. the last album was nothing special I listened to it once and probably won’t again
Agreed. They've become a corporation instead of a band. When I learned that Corey and Shawn basically own the band and every other member is considered hired help i lost any remaining respect i had. I was a hardcore fan since 99 so it really sucks to see them go from the message they were about to the cliche rock star Hollywood types most have become. Basically anyone who isn't Corey or Shawn have to walk on eggshells and tow the company line or get released from their contract. It really is so sad to see. TESF to me seemed like they literally threw some isht together to get out of that 7 album contract with Roadrunner. Its got a handful of ok stuff but the last 4 songs belonged on Stone Sours House of Gold and Bone imo. I was never that guy who compared the two bands but those 4 songs weren't Slipknot songs imo. Really I think everything went wrong after they sold out on Vol 3 imo. Sure they were screwed up really bad for those first two albums but at least they had their integrity.
@@buddykaiser2380 I agree. I’m also a big time fan since 99 and I do remember Vol.3 was when the band gained huge success.. they had always done great but that album pushed them in a more mainstream direction. After that is when I think it really started to become more of a company or brand then a band.. and the original message they pushed and what they were all about had been lost by the time AHIG dropped… as far as TESF I’d say there’s 3 songs that are ok at best and yea I definitely felt then Stone Sour vibes in many of the tracks especially the last ones.
The Worst So Far

Ever since Joey got kicked out this band has fallen off HARD, I dont think Slipknot could a good song to save their lives at this point
Joey was busy doing his own thing and didn't want to make time for them. They wanted to get back in the studio. Joey had to go. Also jay is better artistically. Joey was just speed and the last they had played with him, he wasn't even able to play! He had to be helped on and off of the stage for fucks sakes. His body couldn't physically handle a tour again. Did you see how out of shape he was before he passed? He had to have gained at least 50 pounds. He refused to make time and physically he was questionable.
@Jarrad Bruessel I feel like this is fair, but he was artistically different, not inferior, and he contributed a lot more than drums as well.

The problem with that is that Clown is right there with Corey.
When Paul Grey died that is when Slipknot fell apart far as it's core and unity I didn't like the way they (with Chris) did Joey long before he passed kicking him out of the band but they should have been honest about the reason and cause to the supporters who actually buy their music and shows
Legal tape.
Speaking from experience of over 30 years in the band world . This is the stuff that is hard to deal with but very common. I've never been on the end of getting kicked out, but i've involved in kicking out members. It sucks and It's usually never been about the music. That's what you say though. It's usually because they don't get along with the person. And yes sometimes it's the nice dude Who gets booted. It's not fair but it is what it is.
So he basically said nothing. Thanks.
He said Fck off!
I think they'll let come back when they do a farewell tour
Chris Fehn made Slipknot shows great. I will never go and see them again because of how they treated Chris.
The facts: We would have preferred Chris just do exactly as Clown and Corey tell him. Love the knot.
When Paul passed away, so did the *Nine*… Slipknot isn’t family anymore, it’s what’s best for business
funny to see the slipknot guys unmasked they all look like walmart greeters
I thought I was going to hear him talk
Honestly though he was lucky to be in slipknot for so long, at its peak, and then get out to live a normal life before its played out. Best of both worlds. Youre like a old wise veteran who was there through the coolest realest stuff, but also young again with a fresh clean slate on life. No burden of going through the motions dragging it out. Like its over, but not in a sad way cuz the mission was accomplished. It will always live on, they did it. Its basically a cover band at this point, alexa ads, and tacky song titles like 'adderall', give me a break. I respect jim and mick and sid for sure, but theyre the last cool people at a dying party. Self titled and iowa will never go away. Mission accomplished guys. Id understand why theyd wanna keep it going even in this down syndrome version, like just to do it, i get it. But there shouldnt really be any fear of missing out, basically since joey left, but absolutely at this point. And now its over...
slipknot are more than just their first 2 albums. i don’t get how you even love these albums when you now despise corey taylor even tho he wrote those lyrics that impacted you enough to still love those albums i guess
@@romaretaylor9953 I never said the lyrics are impactful. It's just the feel of the music. Plus the first two albums he didn't write all that. Once the message was 'all hope is gone', and they started literally dying, what's the point of being into that?
My guy is making bank with those slipknot royalties
I hate to say that Slipknot was never the same to me since Paul passed.
Slipknot sounds pretty much like Stone Sour now.
RESPECT GIVEN where RESPECT is DESERVED 👌
I bet you, Jim root would be the next one to go
Looks like you were wrong lol
I love how people say "Slipknot died when paul, chris and joey. They were the OGs!" Which isnt true. Jim wasnt an original member. Sid wasnt an original member. Chris wasnt an original member. If you wanna talk about originals, you got Clown, Mick, Josh, Cuddles, Anders, Joey, and Paul. Theres your OGs. But to make a long story short. Band evolution is important. I mean hell, if things didn't change and anders never left, they probably wouldve left small venues in iowa. Corey coming in saved them, and gave them a chance at stardom. Gave them a future. Joey leaving gave Jay a shot. Which hes done a phenomenal job. Paul passed which was sad, but gave Vman a chance to join and look at the last two albums hes been on he has KILLED it on bass. Would've made Paul proud. Then you got Micheal Pfaff. Chris left but, now you got a guy that has more energy and has great stage presence and adds new energy to the band. Evolution and bands changing members isnt always a bad thing. People saying "oh they arent the same after so and so left" just make me laugh. You still have Mick, you still have clown, you still have Craig, Sid and you still have Corey. You got the core members left. Theyre still going strong and if in a few years another member leaves, so be it. Theyre still gonna do well, theyre still gonna tour and make millions and their legacy will live on forever. After many of us are long gone..
Not to take away anything you just so eloquently said....but you made me think of Megadeth when you were talking about core members and going strong.
