@@rifatrahmanbony7423 after all, modern ships arent really properly equiped to either damage an armored ship or even handle a salvo, like the vid shows. The best thing for that modern ship to do is to target it's guns. If it cant shoot you, then it cant hurt you.

It doesn’t have to penetrate the armor it just has to start a fire and then get to the mag and set off a chain reaction that splits the ship in half that what sank it you know

The weapons of a modern destroyer doesn't have the capability to peirce the armour of that if Yamato, and also the Yamato's armour was later out in a way that is very odd but effective, so there really no chance the destroyer would be able to damage the battleship

@@chaoslegend83 Harpoons couldn't penetrate the armor but they wouldn't need to. 96 vls cells against such a large and slow target, you are going to basically guarantee every hit. That's a lot of primary and secondary fires set.

Anti ship missiles would make that “pesky little gnat” a extremely dangerous adversary. If the Yamato did not have any recon planes overhead to spot the destroyer, the destroyer would have easily taken it down

in reality that ddg would have wiped the yamato out, at least operationally, from beyond the horizon before it knew there was an enemy there. Harpoons won't penetrate the belt or turret face, but they don't need to when a ddg has 96 vls cells full of them.

i figured if the DD engaged from 100+ miles away it would make for a very long and boring video in which the destroyer expends it whole missile load on yamato and damages it severely without sinking it, then goes back home to get more missiles while yamato limps back into port
also yeah, i feel like most people go for the 1945 yamato when building it, so i tried to make the 1941 version (i think it worked out nicely)

@@bismarck8327 not really, harpoon anti ship missiles carry a 480lb explosive charge, which is nothing compared to the 3,200 lb shells fired by Yamato. To be fair though, i definitely could have added more missile impacts, as there was no way a destroyer or cruiser would only fire 2 or 3 missiles.
