She’s always had somewhat slurry speech tho, even when she’s sober. That’s just how she talks. I do think she looks veryyy thin, but lots of celebs are doing that rn. Tons of celebs get lip fillers, tons of celebs are on ozempic & dropping weight like crazy. I think her insta-g commenters & ppl like yourself are blowing these things way out of proportion.

I hated that show . It was obvious , it was heavily edited to make her look like a dumb blonde . Every other scene was her saying something out of character . But if you watch interviews before the show ever aired; you would see she’s pretty smart with that Texas humor !

I went thru a long stage of drinking. It was the only way I could get away from my overwhelming anxiety. I’ve been sober 2 years now and it’s quite amazing to have full control over yourself again! I never realized how similar Jessica’s life was from me. I wish her the best and happy she is in a healthy and happy place.
I love that she mentioned we have all said dumb things that we wish people didn’t hear. We all know less than there is to know so I always think about how much more I want to learn and think about how much I don’t know. We just all don’t have those moments on camera for millions. If anything that made her grow emotional strength that he still doesn’t seem to have. I love women sticking up for other women instead of putting them down. Men stand up for their toxicity why shouldn’t we stand up for what is healthier!?!?! Maybe if we do that we will win the fight of healthy and toxic? There is always strength in numbers which is why these people want us to fight each other instead of them.

Exactly. A lot of women are taught to dumb ourselves down & pretend we don’t know things to make a man feel smart & superior, or to not be seen as intimidating to men & women. It’s obvious Nick desperately needed to feel like the smarter one, so she *played* the role of the dumb blonde to make him feel secure, when in fact she was the smarter, more charismatic, more like-able/personable one.

So many people, including her own father, treated Jessica so awful. The media was just evil towards her and Nick was a piece of work. So many guys exposed so many private things about her that are no one’s fricking business. The paparazzi hounded her relentlessly and the media had no right to make comments about her weight.

I absolutely loved their show Newlyweds! I even bought the DVDs with bonus footage. When I see an episode now? I'm looking at it through a completely different lens and Nick seemed to be really jealous of her success, even resentful. He would punish her because of his own insecurities because his solo career just didn't work. He put her down a lot and imo, he treated her like a child and not an equal.
I loved her book too! I worry for Jessica though. It was that Pottery Barn commercial that made me question if she is okay? She is very thin and imo, she looked frail and her face is sunken in and hollow in appearance. Idk if it's because of her being underweight or did she have too many procedures? She also slurred her words and seemed to struggle and all of this made me sad and concerned for her. I don't know why would Pottery Barn put out a commercial if she wasn't at her best??

@Maude Gonne Yess, he did. I'm remembering that now that you mentioned it. He used to say, "Shuutt up" or "Shut it"! Really condescending. I remember one scene she talks about in her book and it's on the show where she came back home and Nick had been moving furniture and they had an argument outside. He called her a spoiled brat and mocked her and told her to "go away...blah blah blah". He actually said the blah part. It's strange watching it again now that I'm older and see how he spoke to her.

Easier said than done though because sometimes you stay with people because you it's a psychological thing you revert back to this especially women revert back to these little girls they were they want that Prince Charming they have low self-esteem and sometimes it's the straw that breaks the camel's back for the woman to go you know what I wash my hands of you I'm done with this or it might therapy that finally gets people strong enough to walk away and be like you know what I don't need this toxicity in my life anymore and I won't have it. I'm not just saying this I know this from experience I lived it I know it and I used to be one of those people that would be like if the person's treating you badly then why are you staying?
