The dude with the crazy eyebrows is in it LMAOO
That's enough for me to watch this
Will Poulter lol
Will Poulter started off doing a kids comedy programme in the UK. He was brilliant back then and stood out from all the others.
He was also the best thing in that third Narnia film as well IMO.
He's one funny looking man, he'll probably make a good Detroit Pig!
I don't think John Boyega will ever be able to use his natural British accent in a movie.
Oh look it's Bridger from The Revenant.
Jeje The Human the world isn't ready for his roadman lifestyle
Majidul Gwuaa he was in attack the block tho
lool. imagine john boyega with a ski mask, oyster card, a bag of weed and and a blackberry.XD
Matthias Bider So you're trying to say that all of us brits are rich and they don't need acting roles? no. It's not about the money and our market and film industry here is very small, also when an actor goes for an audition, they audition with an American accent, they are judged on their performance, not where they're from. Americans aren't THAT interested in hearing our accents anyway and that's just facts.
So this is what Finn did before he became a stormtrooper
agree
Earl Akers Its all coming together LOL
woooow 1k likes! Thanks
okkk
I like African american smiles
For those that did not get the trailer.
This movie is about The 1967 Detroit riot, also known as the 12th Street riot, was a violent public disorder that turned into a civil disturbance in Detroit, Michigan. It began in the early morning hours of Sunday, July 23, 1967. The precipitating event was a police raid of an unlicensed, after-hours bar then known as a blind pig, just north of the corner of 12th Street (today Rosa Parks Boulevard) and Clairmount Avenue on the city's Near West Side. Police confrontations with patrons and observers on the street evolved into one of the deadliest and most destructive riots in the history of the United States, lasting five days and surpassing the violence and property destruction of Detroit's 1943 race riot.
Tanks and machine guns were used in the effort to keep the peace. Film footage and photos that were viewed internationally showed a city on fire, with tanks and combat troops in firefights in the streets.
43 people died 1967 Detroit riot: 33 were black and 10 were white. 24 of the black victims were shot by police officers and National Guardsmen; 6 were shot by store owners or security guards; 1 was killed after stepping on a downed power line, and 2 were killed by asphyxiation from a building fire. Among the whites that died were 1 Detroit police officer, 2 Detroit firefighters, and 1 Michigan Army National Guardsman. The police officer was shot by another officer while struggling with a group of looters; one firefighter died after stepping on a downed power line while attempting to extinguish a fire started by looters; the second firefighter was shot by a black male while organizing fire units at Mack and St. Jean streets; and the guardsman was shot in crossfire between the National Guard and looters.
Of the white civilians killed, 1 was shot as she and her husband fled a group of black males beating a white man; 1 was shot by National Guardsmen; 1 was shot while in her hotel room by a civilian sniper; and 1 was beaten to death by a black male after confronting looters in his store.
2,509 stores were looted or burned, 388 families rendered homeless or displaced and 412 buildings burned or damaged enough to be demolished. Dollar losses from property damage ranged from $40 million to $45 million.
Hope that this helps with people questions about this movie.
Htf did u omit rhe police murdering and brutalizing .national guard allowed it turned a blind eye .allowing a host of civilians including 2 young caucaisan women..the audacity of you to omit and or admit the fking wrong doing on the part of every caucasian except the 2 young women. YOUR A PIECE OF TRASH
John boyega is going to be so much more than his star wars role. He is really going to be huge
Yh, he has charisma ... like Will Smith does, but he is a better actor than Smith.
I thought he was the heart of TFA.
well, Star Wars was his big score. the movie he did before that was Attack The Block, and that one was a good film
He reminds me of a young Denzel Washington. I hope he goes far. He's really talented.
Jupiter Cooper I do smell an Oscar nomination for his role in this movie. if Andrew Garfield can get one, so can he.
Episode VIII looks good so far.
ino's feet the Return of the G
ino's feet lol
That would actually be a reason to watch it. Maybe it's a reverse advertisement to trick people.
ino's feet
Sakura>
haku
This storm trooper is now getting an acting career
Brook Rundle Because he's a good actor
Brook Rundle Well he wasn't a stormtrooper at the start,he was a british guy who beated up black alien monster things that looks like extra terrestrial pubes.
Watch attack the block. good London movie lol
He's been in movies before StarWars lol
he is good though so...
Offer them some pepsi instead of coffee
Gabriel X where's kendell when you need her
That will do!
Gabriel X boy lmao!
Gabriel X u racist asf
anybody who saw John Boyega's first film Attack The Block, if not go watch it
Seth Ryan i loved that movie because I've grown up in an area like that, there were no aliens tho
Gucci Cløne isn't it on Netflix
not on Netflix and I got it on red box along time ago I was getting some movies and needed to get one more for free took that one by chance loved it
That's an alien, bruv, believe!
Seth Ryan i did
This looks great but I couldn't understand I single thing happening in this trailer, looks like a bunch of random shots from the movie
Artcade the movie depicts a day in Detroit
Reborn What day you talking about then
everyday
Agree, this is a terribly edited trailer. Starts off strong, but then goes on far too long with a bunch of incoherent scenes. Hopefully the actual film doesn't suffer from the same problem.
Artcade Well that's what trailers are for. Give you a summary of the trailer and show you some shots from the movies. Now a days people get spoiled by trailers by having the whole movie played in the trailer. This is just to get people curious and it's also just the first trailer. With the controversy that is sure to surround the subject matter, and the publicity it will get, we will have more than just this trailer.
Only in America can people get triggered over a movie about racism.
James Burgess History about racism and segregation in the North. It was uglier back then. Ever since kindergardenn I have learned so much about MLK, Malcolm X, Shirley Chisholm, Mary McCloud Bethune, and countless others who fought so hard and dillegently to end this ravish beast of a cancer called racism and promote Civil Rights. To them, it was more about humanity coming together, despite tyranny. It is still taking place to this day but nothing like how it was in vintage times. Sin is what is making this country and world go completely out of proportion/control. Both needs Jesus Christ in order to cleanse all unrighteousness.
Ortum Lynx Exactly!............Then they want to pull stats on you when you actually do call them out. "Oh stop pulling the race card" We heard this mess before from these trolls. Never ceases to amaze me.
Ortum Lynx Neither do Black people.
James Burgess people are triggered already?
I hate today's society
MrWulfric1 -- You're not racist at all.
I love John Boyega, but why is he always so sweaty 😂
Gary Hernandez lmmaaoo
I read that as sweety That was weird
Miss Kobe Yoshi And fuck Yoshi.
And why is he always doing an american accent
hahahaha
"You think we're bluffing?! We don't bluff!" lmao I couldn't take him serious
I love the fact how you have two of the main roles being playing by brits rather than americans
They should have got ice cube
joeking88 Don't start this new wave of British vs American actors thing. It's just stupid
yeah but if I can't complain about all the black people in the movie what else do I complain about?
Samuel L. Jackson already did, He's mad that Hollywood is hiring UK Blacks to star in movies instead of American Blacks.
www.nytimes.com/2017/03/09/movies/samuel-jackson-black-british-african-american-actors.html?_r=0
The debate exists, and has existed for decades. Now it's blacks turn to have it.
**Cough** The Wire *cough*.
Who stops the microwave at 1 so it won't beep
mine beeps when i push pause
Aunt Samsonite lol
you just made my day
Joshua The master of squids Exactly man we can't risk it
I do it to annoy other people.
This movie looks like it's going to piss off me
Yeah idk why they didn't have an eminem song in it lol
Well these specific events happened before eminem was even born so you should just shut the fuck up.
He needs to work on some new music.
I don't know how it's gonna piss of Em, he wasn't alive when this went down. If anything, Eminem is gonna love this movie.
It wouldnt be the first time true history didn't piss off a rapper that wasn't even born then,
CZcams trending is like watching commercials. Unless you're actually viral, most slots are paid for.
Correct, it is curated throughout the day, they also have a blacklist to make sure certain users/topics never trend.
I wouldn't be surprised at all, but who's watching the watchers? ;-)
actually most of these commercials are trending for various reason
burger king - for people who have google voice commands this commercial would activate your phones search function this commercial was so hated that google deactivated all voice command features in a update
Detroit - it steers up racial tensions that still dawn on society to this day and if weather you agree or not if these films help or cause more tension
pepsi with kendall jenner - a lot of people are mad about this commercial since it is essentially a Caucasian over privileged teen girl fighting for equality
Emirates Airline - in this ad they call out united airlines for the whole guy getting brutily thrown of the airplane video and how united tried to say that nothing happened that day
Well... At least it's not back at Jakku.
"Why does everyone want to go back to Jakku???"
John Boyega is my guy! But why is my man always sweaty and glistening in every movie? My brotha stays moist.
meow bastard lol
Mr. Manly lmao
Mr. Manly. Lol
Because playing with an American accent takes a lot of energy. Just look at sweaty Tom Holland.
Imperial Dreams, The Circle, Detroit and The Last Jedi in one year? Boyega is working it! I'm seeing many award nominations and wins within the next year for the man! He's doing this while he's only 25!
Kurtis Galloway Imperial Dreams was a great film to watch
Imperial Dreams was like 2 years back
He's definitely on his grind
Charles Baylor Hopeful he'll be nominated for something
It was released on Netflix earlier this year.
I can't take that kid from Were The Miller's serious lmao so I probably won't watch this.
Anthony Barbati lmao
Yep same, he was the one thing that took me out of The Revenant too. I cant take his goofy face seriously.
Same lol
He's still a really good actor that the right people seem to not be blind to. He keeps getting good dramatic roles.
Characterror4D1 he was good in the revenant
Do not go down into the comment section. Racists, angry liberals and defensive republicans. It's scarier than this movie down there.
Gotta love seeing so many British Actors in American Films.
Because they're cheap
Because they can ACT ,wow I'm amazed at the numbers for this channel but mind u prob gap in market for very basic fun movie chat , dunno if I'd call it a review ,u need Kermode for an intelligent , informative review ,BUT saying that respect for the numbers bet the adverts and the jollies that go with that are good..
Daish...Brits playing Americans is not the only thing fake about this film.
British actors are well trained and give excellent performances, so it's no surprise that American producers and directors hire them.
Star Wars, Pacific Rim 2, working with Tom hanks and now a serious period drama? Mr. Boyega's made quite the name for himself in relatively little time.
he sucks
Wtf where's the lightsaber and why are they using real guns
PizzaWings one of life's greatest mysteries that were never solved
Puberty hit Eustace like a freight train driven by Mike Tyson.
Hey. It's that guy in the Maze Runner (I forgot his name).
Eyebrow dude (Actual name).
Watch son of Rambo
BeautifulRose Will Poulter
Don't you mean crazy eyebrows? hehehe..
Elias Kötz He looks like the horrible boy from toy story
kendell jenner......GIVE EM A PEPSI!!! PLS!!!
everyone know that if you give a cop a Pepsi, you can stop segregation
-dumb bitch, 2017
Valex Official she can't give them a Pepsi but she WISHES she could
That was fuckin corny
Hue hue
yeah make sure it's nice and cold too😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
It's a damn shame this isn't getting advertised more with this spectacular cast.
John Boyega, Anthony Mackie, Jason Mitchell, and John Krasinski in a KATHRYN BIGELOW MOVIE?????!!!! SIGN ME UP!!!
His American accent is AMAZING!!!
So weird seeing Will poulter play a bad guy when he’s one of the most (non black) pro black people I have seen
I remember the spirit spreading throughout the country. It was dark and ugly. John, Martin, and Bobby were dead. Love was gone and hate was trying to become the standard. 1967 I was 9 years old (just moved from Minneapolis to So Cal) I remember the radio and TV broadcasts. It seemed as though Armageddon was happening there and then in Detroit. My mom cried every day, for weeks. A hell-istic memory that is deep seated to this very day.
Two British leads in a film about American race relations... Good job Holywood, good job
John Boyega + Will Poulter doing it big for the UK!
wonder how many people clicked straight away thinking it was an ad for the next star wars movie
these days funny enough the new star wars trailer just came out
well, ironically this is new Star wars, just the one where everyone is black.
It is very interesting to see Bigelow move away from the sort of films that earned her Oscar nods in the past. While still in the same wheelhouse as Zero Dark Thirty, and even The Hurt Locker to an extent, it's very interesting to see that she's decided to jump into a topic that is much more sensitive, and in many cases far more vital, than her war oriented films.
I'm hoping that this film turns out to be really well done. As a Canadian, I had never heard of these Detroit Riots before, and I'm thinking I've got another area of history I need to take some time to research.
Also, I'm really glad to see John Boyega in films like this and Imperial Dreams. He's a really talented actor who deserves a chance to get his star up there as one of the greats.
This movie killed me I cried so hard
So glad to see John having an acting career outside of Star Wars. Doing us Brits proud.
so was that line about bringing sugar racist? or just a moment were it shows tension
He is a local and the feds are there to patrol the streets. no body wants them there. John Boyega's character doesnt want them there but he still needs to work with them. So he tries his best to work with them and provide them with services but he doesnt want to do that. so when the guy ask for "sugar" he gets upset and tells him not to push it. My bet is that the feds are treating him like shit.
like you have a shit boss and tells you to do shit but still treats you like shit or treats you like you are always fucking shit up. so you do something nice and then they want more from you, your response would be "dont push it"
The film depicts racial tension dummy
I love how they got two British actors to play main roles
I only caught Boyega. Who's the other?
Will Poulter
Oh. I thought he was American.
Loool
I'm English and I find it funny theirs two English actors in a film about Detroit
This was a great film. I wonder why Kathryn Bigelow didn't win another Oscar for this film. Anyway, I'm looking forward to Kathryn Bigelow's new film.
that gilly face again. man i love this actress...so humble.
John Boyega is the next Denzel
John Boyega looks a lot like a young Denzel Washington. He is an excellent actor, also. I look forward to seeing this movie.
Vsauce micheal here.
Black lives matter.
Or do they ?
K
*Vsauce theme plays*
this guy went from "attack the block" to "unite the people"
Aaaand Will Poulter goes for an Oscar!!!!
Not realistic at all. This is clearly baltimore; not detroit.
So this is what Gally did before the maze runner!
I never expected such a twist in Star Wars
I’ve watched Point Break, The Hurt Locker, Zero Dark Thirty and the new movie “Detroit” directed by Kathryn Bigelow looks like an really interesting film to watch and to learn about the 1967 riots of Detroit. Also my dad was born in 1967.
John Boyega is making moves in the industry. I'm excited.
this is exactly the movie we need to help tensions and diversity
God forbid we try to tell an incident in history.
jasonjinx yea this movie will prove how 50 years and a black president later racism and police brutality is still an issue
God damn these people need a Pepsi.
That's corny as fuck
no, they need milk
Go back to your bunker.
Studied this case in my crim250w course I'm excited to see this tragedy portrayed on the big screen. So few people actually know about this incident. I wouldn't know about this incident if my professor did not require me to dissect the case and write a paper on it years ago in undergrad... It was truly sad and appalling! It's not just about race but police corruption, the police blue wall that has been ever so present.. I'm geeked to see how accurate or true to the actual case this movie is. Plus I love Algee! Will definitely be in attendance with my fiancé, mom, dad and brothers to see this..
AND TO ALL THE NEGATIVITY!! Seriously get over yourself it's funny it's how oppression or negativity against blacks is supposed to be forgotten.. like slavery, Jim Crow laws, lynchings, emit till, civil rights movement, Detroit riot, Rodney king trial, Trayvon martin, Tamir Rice, Sandra bland and so many more.... but the holocaust 9/11 etc is never forget.. my parents are retired military younger n older brothers active duty military I grieve for 9/11. I'm not Jewish but I recognize the atrocities of the holocaust, I recognize the oppression that many of the first Irish and Italian immigrants were subject to in America . I'm black and I recognized the many obstacles or wrongs black have been subject to in South Africa in America and many other places in the world .. so why isn't it ok for me to be a lover of history of all! Why must black oppression n atrocities be forgotten and swept under the rug.. That's societies problem we rather forget than address our issues or differences. This isn't just a movie for Black people; it's a movie for everyone! This case isn't just about white or police shaming. It sheds light on history! It puts a spot light on the bad ones. There are good and bad people in all races and genders! One of my closest friends is white and I'm obsessed with black history good and bad. The two can co-exist without me blaming her for things she didn't do or that her ancestors may have done to my ancestors.. She n I have been friends for years since kids. Our friendship endured because although we don't always agree in particularly when it comes to race and various privileges my black skin gives or takes away from me-- we at least attempt to understand our differences. I don't expect her to agree with what she has never been subject too but as my friend to know that my concerns are legit and not sensationalized or false. I don't understand everything about her Czech culture but as a friend I make it a point to learn and listen!
Maybe this movie will help someone to start a dialogue to move forward vs denying one another a platform to speak because we disregard and don't understand each other's background or history. If it reaches one person and helps them understand then wonderful! Success! History is the foundation of the present! All history black white asian Hispanic etc should be learned in my opinion.. maybe it would help us all be a little more tolerable of one another.. And understand why we are the way we are today which is horribly divided sadly!
💯💯🙏🏾💪🏿✊🏾
John Boyega went to the same school as me. Westminster City in Victoria, London. Dude is in everything nowadays. Star Wars, this movie, Pacific Rim 2, and more. Hard to believe.
Finished watching this movie it is worth watching
looks absolutely amazing.
wow nice star wars 8 trailer!!! but i only saw Finn
Esteban Alfaro Is it weird that the Star Wars trailer came out a day later
Esteban Alfaro NO....JUST NO, PLEASE 😐
Is that Kenny from Were the Millers?
As a guy in Detroit I'm very excited for this movie
As a person who lives a few miles from Detroit I can't wait to see how the riots are portrayed on film
My boy fin typecasted as the sweaty black dude in the thumbnail
Star Wars fans: OMG FINN!!!
Maze Runner fans: OMG GALLY!!!
Academy Award nominees John Boyega and Will Poulter. MAKE IT HAPPEN KATHRYN BIGELOW!
for what acting?
This looks so intense. Excited.
Bigelow seems to be going with a mixture of Near Dark and Hurt Locker on this one. I'm all in.
60 years from now there going to make a serious movie about our generation 😅😅😂😂. wouldn't take that movie serious at all
Why didn't my history books inform me of this nonsense
Who eles wanna see this 🙌
Arixxah,
It looks like boring & terrible movie in my opinion. So no, I won't be seeing it. Hope you enjoy it though.
Commander Shephard just saw it it's really good give it a try trust me it's a little bit graphic but still good
Anyone up for Episode VIII trailer either tomorrow or friday?!? Can't wait!
I graduated high school in 1967... Born in Pontiac, MI, and my mother was a nurse at Pontiac General Hospital. I served in the 101st Airborne and met guys sent to Detroit. My DOD boss of 1971 was in charge of Log services at the Michigan state fair grounds. This whole movie seems to be based on one man's experience. There are many different sides and experiences of different people, from different places, during the Detroit riots. It destroyed a city and Detroit never recovered.
Will Poulter and John Boyega have better American accents than Americans
We need eminem to be part of this somehow
"Got any sugar", "Don't push it man"? I don't get it?
lawrence frausto
I think it was a subtextual thing where he meant go get me sugar, but I'm not sure.
lawrence frausto It's a local cop and feds type of thing. You have to be friendly witch each other. He gives them coffee and the guy is pretty much ungrateful asking for some sugar when clearly he doesn't like them being there.
Nope..back in the day, it was a stereotype that black people liked sugar a lot. Even in "Next Friday" they poke fun at it when a black guy asks to borrow some sugar. It's an old stereotype that's died down in the modern days.
Algee Smith, and Jason Mitchell in a movie about a city in my state!! OMG!!
Love seeing my city represented on the big screen. Slowly but surely we are coming back.
He should have just given them all a pepsi
what is up with this Pepsi jokes all over youtube
@Nathan Nuk3 Pepsi did a commercial not to long ago. Maybe a week or two ago. The commercial involved protesters. The commercial did not go over well with a lot of people. Near the end of the commercial there is a scene that looks like there might be a stand off with police, but someone hands a police officer a Pepsi and this seems to defuse the tense situation. Some people think it kind trivialize some actually protests that have happening and there causes. It aired one day, and then Pepsi pulled the commercial after the large amounts of complaints they received.
A Jenner gave a Pepsi to a cop and trivialized their evils.
TRAITOR!
The Dark Slayer #⑥⑨ everyone in the chat type Finn is a stupid traitor!
He attacked the block, now he is stopping the block from being attacked.
Glad to hear Common's song playing! It fits perfectly.
Lincoln clay and eyebrows
Luke Mawson he needs a pepsi

HMZ NO....NO 😐
who else is here to call out the racists in the comments?
beause no matter what their actions saying the racist thing anonomously are still bad and need to be taught.
Weltfenos So you're here to feed the trolls?
The Blue Shell I don't think troll would stoop that low to say racist things. even trolls have to have morals
Weltfenos I doubt you even know what a racist is.
christianoh98 I do.
The Last Jedi looks great!
Gally, Sam AND Finn in one movie!!!
Another movie thats going to start controversy just because people can't handle history.
the thing is that they're tryna say that this happens today
This movie shouldn't even be called Detroit, they can say it's based on a true story, although the truth will be dramatized and not 100% true, and we all damn well know that this is not gonna be filmed in Detroit, lmao.
its about the detroit riots in '67, what the fuck else would it be called
Kurt Howard LMAO RT
Kurt Howard it's Hollywood. no shit
Actually, they did shoot a small amount of it in Detroit, but because Michigan eliminated film incentives in 2015, they had to shoot the rest of the movie in Massachusetts.
so here finn isn't a TRAITOR
From missing all of his opportunities to now hitting all the targets. Good job Finn!
If anyone is wondering what this is based off, it's based off the 12th riot of 1967 and the incident at the Algiers Motel.
This movie looks terrible.
So... A movie about modern day Detroit?
If John Boyega pulls out a pepsi and gives it to the cops, I am gonna dislike the video.
FINALLY A MOVIE ABOUT DETROIT HUSTLE
