  • In this video, I'll be unboxing the Snugpak Ionosphere 1 person tent, a highly durable and lightweight tent designed for solo camping and backpacking. I'll take a look at all the features that make the Ionosphere stand out, including its camouflaged waterproof and breathable fabric fly sheet , sturdy aluminium poles, and versatile setup options.

    Thank you for your video. I have had a Snugpak Ionosphere for years and use it when hiking or hunting. I live in Nevada and have the tan cover, but I also bought the camo and green covers, depending where I'm going. I also carry a small tarp that I sit under to make food or enjoy the stars, but I really like the tent. Bigger than a hooped bivy, but smaller than most one man tents. The screen inner tent is perfect when camping around a lake, swamp, or other mosquito infested areas.

      Thank you for watching. That’s good to hear you’re pleased with yours. TBH I have yet to use mine 😬. 2023 flew by and so far this year it’s been far too wet. My camping kit is packed and waiting for a gap in the weather that coincides with a free weekend. Desperate to include camping adventures into my channel I plan on the ionosphere being a big feature of future adventures. Thanks again for watching, hope you enjoy my other videos too. Cheers. Neil

    Ive watched so many reviews of one man tents and bivvis, have to say yours is one of the best. I’ve narrowed it down to either this or the OEX Salamander as living in Kent it’s quite well populated so the stealthier the tent the better. I would bring my fairly large dog along with me so the extra space Snugpak Ionosphere offers whilst still being stealthy seems the best choice in my budget.

    Great liitle bivvy tents....if you open the door fully, it's a lot easier to gain access without parking your bum on the mud. By putting some elastic cord on some some loops will save a lot of pegs as you can double up. Also threading the head end guy line through the tie back loop gives a little more head space? The ventilate very well and you get little condensation if any. Love them and a good no nonsense video, thank you.

      That’s a great tip, thank you! I reckon half the time of putting it up was getting all those pegs in 😂. Hopefully if the weathers not too bad I’m going to have an overnighter this weekend 🤞. Really looking forward to that as I was seriously impressed with the first pitch.

    Looks a good bit of kit that does..👍🏻
    I’ve just brought a new stealthy low-profile tent, this one is quite tall (and long) compared to my new 64cm tall Wild Country Coshee Micro tent!
    Mine has the advantage of pitching both inner and outer together though, and literally takes 3 mins tops to pitch!
    It also has a 40cm wide vestibule, and a full length zipped side entry door to make it super easy to get in/out of..
    However it is very small, and would be no good for anyone over 5-10” tall, at least with the inner attached anyway, maybe would fit someone upto 6-2” if just pitching the outer to use as a tarp style shelter..
    But it’s perfect for me, although I’m waiting until the nights draw out a little more yet before I use it for the first time, just far too small a space for spending 14hrs inside this time of year 😄

    • @parkitpitchitmoorit
      @parkitpitchitmoorit  Před rokem +1

      That looks a nice tent. I like the side door and the pitching of both inner and outer together. I’m six one though so that might have been a little small for me.
      Love the idea of small tent camping though and can’t wait to test it out. Like you I’ve been waiting for the right conditions.
      Hope you have fun when you get out there! Cheers. Neil

    Had mine for yrs now, I was and am constantly researching alternatives or add on's for it. bivi, tarp, combo? bigger tent?, more expensive tent but similar?. Buts its long, just about wide enough and low profile.
    all a stealth camper could ask for.
    at one and half kilos, some say its heavy, but I say if you can't carry a one and a half kilo tent then maybe stealth camping or hiking isn't for you.
    and, having both the olive and camo flysheet I intend taking both so as to blend in in different environments. and for the hell of it.

  • @PhilCherry3
    @PhilCherry3 Před rokem +1

    I would still use a 3x3 meter tarp over that tent and a sit-pad or groundsheet. The tarp will give better overhead protection as one is entering and exiting the tent during bad weather. The sit pad or groundsheet will keep one from touching the ground and dragging dirt and debris into the tent when entering and exiting. But I do understand using it as demonstrated here if stealth-mode is part of the camper's strategy.
