The powered up can't compete when you make the other dual motor. The dual motor is a Absolute beast. I did it with my passenger trains.

I did a similar thing by running two of the blue locomotives (modified to be 8 wide), they can pull a lot of cars. Mine didn't seem to bog down like this however, the wheels would just slip, so I put a bunch of pennies in them for more traction. I did use a duel motor setup for my steam train with the motor units on the tender. The main issue with duel motor setups running on the same channel is that both motor units either need to face the same direction or go through a power functions switch.
You can pair several batteries blocks with one remote. Also looks like it is possible to make some kind of splitter. anyway 9v is the best system. Lego should update it
You can also do dual motors on the powered up too... same, stick the motors on A or just reverse/turn the right pad with A and B, and press UP at the same time.

I wish Lego gave more stuff in the newer sets as in the older ones there was a lot of items and small things added on but now it’s like you bought the train set for the train and you get like nothing accept the train and that’s why I have a problem about which set I should buy either the power of powered up or the aesthetics of the older sets
But the real question is....
can an engine with the Powered UP system tow all those cars and a dead Power Functions equipped engine? 🤨
power funcions are quite old ones so the maker of the video should have made it to new engine,reciever,motors.

Yes! I’m so glad I got the 60052 from a Brick store that sells LEGO but isn’t official instead of the 2018 cargo train that they had.

You can buy the parts from Bricks and Pieces on the LEGO website and make your own, or shop on secondary marketplaces like Bricklink.

Well you see, powered up has 2 more speeds than power functions does

We don‘t know how much Voltage is delivered on speed 1. also the Powered up App uses different Voltages for every speed step. Also we do not know the Motor Specs. With the Power functions System the motor might be slightly less powerful but the Batteries live longer. This comparison is neither very useful nor does it say very much.

I like the flexibility of power functios over the simplicity of powered up, Sbrick is what lego needed to build, not a dumbericed desing. I wonder how could you build something amazing whit that. Like sariels tanks, I doub that powered up would allow more than 2 receptors per battery, or daisy chained batts.

How is powered up better than power functions?
Dam that go first at 2 speed great to know as I have built the as two train an as track rise. Up hill. As train track in my Lego city have to be up in the air like train lines are in USA. CA's now in Melbourne Australia it same hear .I'm shaw thay make it on the track s going up hill. An cumeing down hill would add more speed to the train s .

power functions at least has extension wires and there is a power functions battery box that is rechargeable so 2 points to power functions
This sounds good... but it is a poor pro-con video. It doesn't look at price since a battery box for Powered up is well over double. You can't stack anymore with powered up, and worst of all powered up support could end at any time making your parts worthless and your trains suddenly become a push train.... if you replace the motor with standard wheels.
Where did you get the well cars from?
Could be custom or a bit of the well cars lego made 15 years ago

Well basically powered up is strong than powered functions so well if we swap the entire system the powered up system is the best one and only thing is that the powered up is a little bit light in weight so it is better in speed and power I have both the trains that is why I know the difference between the two trains 🚞 well but I would prefer powered up trains

60052 uses a dummy technic bogie which is harder to turn than the dummy bogie on the green cargo train. Don’t know if that has sompin to do wit it
The green one run s awsum. On the tracks I need more battery s i think for the blue cargo train. Train battery s was okay but not ones in my controller when I first tryed to run it. Did the build months ago bean waiting to get my train s running. Hope when I get more battery it work s ...an the blue an yellow electric train frunt weal s don't move left to right. So train track s need to be played good on sharp corner s.

one reason why dis isnt fair is they dont have the same front boggies for the loco try usuing the same one for the front next time as i did it and my trains did it exactly the same just a bit slower as the blue won weighs more and also make them weigh the same so its even more fair as we are testing the motor not the loco motive just get a flat bed and do the test other then that its kinda fair
edit: also power functions is better CAUSE U CAN ACTUALLY TURN IT OFF unlike the new won WHERE U CAN SMASH IT AND IT DOESNT TURN OFF >:c

Mit Power Funktions kann ich aber 8 Züge steuern, was ich aber mit dem andern System nicht machen kann und mehrere Möglichkeiten für weitere Sachen zu verwenden also lieber in einen Zug investieren der älteren Generation wie 60052.
Sieht eh besser und cooler aus. Außerdem besitzt dieser Zug Zwei Weichen was andere Modelle nicht haben ohne zusätzlich Geld zu investieren. Somit gewinnt 60052 mit Power Funktions System eindeutig bei den Zügen von Lego.

I love lego cargo train 60052 but it too slow ! hmm... I will buy 60052
definitely this train needs two motors but at least it works. powered up is better and not only for power. both system have the same problem: in the end you'll get bored opening, screwing, changing/recharging batteries.... no good...

For me trains should be strong, so you take two sets of BB wheels and put them under two XL PF Motors and you have a train so strong you cant imagine^^ Power up is just a s*** you can't build your own locomotives and you can only do this one thing with the controllblock. In addition you still need battery. LEGO is just to stupid to sell a Accu instead. But you did your best you can do with these ugly locomotives.

PF trains suck, their motors degraded very quickly, I bought the blue train last year, the traction is very good but now it can barely pulls 3 cars with new batteries, crap, I never done any harm to it
