The covering one eye thing reminds me of some old folk beliefs I’ve heard regarding seeing fairies.

I talk about it more in the two book reviews that are about her but basically I view her in a similar way to Hel, not necessarily the same but the similarities are really interesting

What books on Hel are there that are good books.
Unfortunately haven’t found any yet. Norse books are difficult in general, let alone getting into lesser accepted deities
