    This is one of the best software instruction videos I have seen, straightforward to the point
    from a novice point to an experienced user, I really hate that it won't work on Windows 11, but I guess I have one computer with Windows 10 installed on it

      I've commented this here already but the Download page states: "MSI Installer (64-bit) for Windows 10 and later:". Perhaps, that will work on the newer versions of Windows.

      But it does work in Windows 11 (I use it on a daily basis and I have no issue)

    10:48 If i want to use the drive letter E to unencrypt the drive i encrypted with Veracrypt, would it prompt me to type in my password for it? If so, or NOT so, would it basically reveal all the files i encrypted with Veracrypt by unencrypting it?

      The Download page states: "MSI Installer (64-bit) for Windows 10 and later:". Check if that works out for you on Windows 11.

    Anyone notice that after deleting files inside a container the space is not restored?

    • @orabaki
      @orabaki Před 2 měsíci

      That's supposed to happen. The container size is static in place.

  • @CrushingMight
    @CrushingMight Před 4 měsíci

    Thanks. However, if the container file is deleted from documents, its nuked. How to prevent and make this 100% secure and unable to be messed with?

      @KMDTech  Před 4 měsíci

      Creating backups for your container file is an option. I keep backups of anything important.

      Back it up on the cloud. There's tons of encrypted cloud storage services. And even if someone gets a hold of it it's already encrypted.
      Use cascading algorithms, and keyfiles you can easily pull up when you need it. Don't store the keyfile on the same folder or let alone drive of the container.
      Keyfiles are basically unique files that you can put along with your password to make it more secure. You can let Veracrypt make a random keyfile or use any file you already have like a PNG file.
      Personally I use cascading encryption, a 50-character password, a set of keyfiles in the form of a music album torrent that I can download readily online, and store a backup of the encrypted container on MEGA.
      The only way someone will get access to it is by torturing me to spit it out, which is what the weak point in all of this: yourself.
      No serious bad actor will even attempt to crack open your container through brute forcing your password or getting a supercomputer to crack open the well established encryption algorithms included in VeraCrypt.
      They'll just kidnap you and torture you with the most painful methods in existence until you break, which won't be long.

    VeraCrypt does not work on Windows 11, it does not allow you to create hidden volumes; while on windows 10 it works normally. Can anyone solve the problem?
    Thank you

    lets say i encrypt a flashdrive on my desktop with veracrypt, one day i travel and i need to access the flashdrive on a notebook, will i be able to? or the password only works locally?

    • @KMDTech
      @KMDTech  Před 5 měsíci

      Yes, as long as you have Veracrypt installed on your notebook you will be able to access your encrypted flashdrive from the notebook using the same password.

    I have some important documents on this pendant, such as contracts with banks, etc. I understand that an ordinary person will not break this security, but I would like to ask in general, who can bypass this? :)
