memories from Kitwe, in the 1986-1988s I was lecturing at ZIT ( Copperbelt University) as an expartriate from Uganda in Civil Engineering as a young man, had greatest memories in Chimweme townships with my friend teacher John Mbwofwana!
Although I was a young girl I really enjoyed this type of music of which I'm still enjoying it up to day it brings sweet memories
Still a Classic in 2023 Zambian born by birth but based in Washington DC. USA
It's 2023 and I am enjoying this music
These songs were being played by the late Dr Zambia Isaac Mulinda. Pure Zambian. Nice one. 2019 October 15 still listening to it. Whose with me today
Ba shumba, Ba Busungilo, Ba Madichi, you guys were real legends!!!!!! I am Zambian by Gods wish and Texan by choice.
Nice rythem
Now this is what I call Zambian music
Not this modern computer music
Good songs iam still enjoying this Kennedy mwila from chingola
John Mulemena is one the Zambian greatest musician of all time. Umwaume Wabufuba was recorded in their first ever LP Album Litande. This was recorded at DB Studios in 1987 and the Album hit the Zambian Air Waves like no man's business. Jessie Bwaluka on Bass Guiter, John Mulemena on Leader and vocals, Osward Mwelwa of Rythm and Brian Machila on Drums. Also on Vocals was Evaristo Bwalya.
What an insight. I guess it was the true birth of Zambian music
Not fogetting Francis Chisenga on vocals
What of Madichi
@@obertymuchaili4231 Madichi replaced Jessie Bwaluka who died after recording Litande album. Madichi played Bass on Bwaluka album (1989) and Nsakwa ya Kaonde album before he died too.
Well analyzed!
Excellent music..vocals and instruments second to non! Who is still here in 2023?
Very emotional moment right now, My Dad used to listen to this music when I was very young 😂😂
Our music heritage is very rich. Just take a moment and enjoy the instrumentals + vocals.. Just brilliant! I love my country, Zambia.
masasu waiya
Sad part is that our young generation doesn’t enjoy this type of music.i love this
It was another generation,it is now out of ✋, what a time it was.
J
Brilliant song this one!!! 🕺🏿
This song is a constant reminder that heads of households should always look after those they've chosen as their spouses and the innocents they've brought into this world. Being a man of the house is a responsibility not to be taken lightly. 😅
Thanks for the timely reminder 🙏
Can we have the translated lyrics please !!! From Nairobi Kenya
Listening from Glasgow. 2018 .No place like home honestly. ..

Real Zambian music, reminds of Late Dr Zambia Isaac Mulinda. M.H.S.R.I.P
Did anyone play banjos made out of cooking oil tins and spring wires. A plank would make the neck and other improvisations to come up with some sound. When introduced to the electric guitar, you just get louder, but keep the same simple arrangements. We only needed 4 strings to round out the sound, just listen and you agree that he is using only 4 strings for the Rythm.
I remember drinking chibuku beers those days and the same song playing
Old is Gold 🥇 our identity as a nation
Please don't blame, me I just cannot get enough of this song
This is legendary...the talking guitar taking a different route to the other instruments but sweetens the outcome
That's the music of all times
This is real Zambian Music With real meaning. It is reaminding some of us those old days when in 30s.
am convinced beyond reasonable doubt, in totality this is True copy of the original legends of zambian music @ its best and nostalgic. Oh yes!! all those childhood memories coming back to me
Very true
A good song is a good song! Be it reggae, sausa, kizomba, rumba, R'n'B etc. It is such songs that touch the core of my heart and just feel at peace at heart. This song sounds new every time I play it. Everything is simple but pure!
You can say that again
This is one of Zambian Bands at the time whose development was purely due to constant innovation due to high level calibre of band leader and composer John Mulemena. We shall surely not find one of his kind in a long time.
For sure... these are legends. May their souls continue resting in peace...
Truly Zambian
real Zambian music
This was real talent! Who is there to lift up the mantle left by Doctor Zambia?
Kikiikk I can't stop listening to the song. .surely men like that change for the better 😁😅

Bwaluka parted with this great band and formed his own, he then did a good album with some great hits like bamuka kibinda, kolwe yoyooyo kolwe etc
It was young brother to Jessie Bwaluka (played bass in this song) Timothy Bwaluka who formed Bwaluka founders band . Jessie Bwaluka passed on after they recorded Litande where this song is found. Contact me for more history about these bands geofreyzulu@yahoo.com

Nice songs with meanings not for nowadays full of insults
So we can still revive this spirit if we continue to encourage these boys and also team up and see how we can support what we love most. MASASU WAIYA UMO AKAFWA - this was their Slogan at the inception. It changed to MASASU WAIYA WABA BAKALAMBA and finally to MASASU WAIYA WABAICE na BAKALAMBA BONSE.
Thanks, bro!
Listening in Durban South Africa 2019
Brings back those old memories when we used to hold end of year parties. Interestingly, we used to have these annual celebrations in our banking halls. This was one of our favourite tracks. Indeed, this was a great band.
