My dad died when I was 1. My mom raised me on her own, never cried about it. I am now 36. She still says I was a gift. She gave me an amazing childhood despite having little money. I went through hardships. She always supported me. Was always there for me. I'm happy. So is she. Single dad here, mom of my child didn’t want me cause I had no money at time. Joined military, saved money, bought an apartment, bought a business with saved money and now that I’m better, tried coming back. I refused but due to her circumstances, I ended with custody of our child. I haven’t complained once about being a single dad. Keep your heads up regardless of the situation. Also, if you’re going have a child of wedlock, then you deserve what is coming to you. My life it is not easy but I make it work. Could be much easier if I wasn’t single dad but I accept my responsibilities, and I just deal with it. My child is a blessing tho.
Nobody should go through parenthood without suppourt from family and friends, even more when single parenting. Lets strive to build comunities like that so our babies are save and see their parents healthy.

I'm a single dad, been one since 2017. It's not easy, and I find it insulting when women (who have access to way more programs and support than I do) complain about how hard it is. I won soul custody of my daughter 10 years ago. Her mom...my ex...decided the life of a stay at home mom wasn't for her despite the fact she wanted for nothing. Came to find out Jodie was giving her backshots while I was on deployment. She filed for divorce and wanted out ASAP. Even signed away her rights to our kid cuz she wanted to be with her "soulmate" and start a family with him. My daughter, then 14 was devastated and it took a couple years of counseling to get her right. 4 years later the moron comes back begging to have her family back. Saying how foolish she was and that Jodie could never love her how I did, and how she misses her little girl and wants her to meat her now 4 y/o brother. When my kid, now 18 got wind of this, she took it upon herself to contact my ex and tore her a new asshole. She's got her daddy's mean streak and didn't hold back one bit. After she was done she said in no short term her mother was "dead" and she never wanted to hear from her ever again. The ex tried to blame me for turning our kid against her but I told her every ounce of venom she spewed came for her own feelings, not mine...and that she betrayed both of us when she left for the douche who clearly wasn't the soulmate she thought he was. I then told her we have nothing more to talk about, and to have a good life. My daughter is now 24 y/o and engaged, and we never heard from my ex again after that day.

My grandmother had to raise my mom and 2 other kids by herself because my grandfather essentially abandoned them. That being said, 70% of divorces are initiated by women, and the women who aren’t happy in their marriage and think they can do a better job of raising their kid by themselves are 9 times out of 10 just being delusional, which ends up hurting the children the most.

I just had to end it with a girl I was seeing. She’s a single mom, but given that she had to run away from her abusive ex-husband I let it slide because the guy was a total asshole. I was going serious about her and was even thinking I could be a good step-dad to this little girl. Then she decided to ghost me for three days to go see another guy she had dated that had cheated on her multiple times and told me afterwards that she just needed to have closure. It doesn't matter if you're married, divorced, widowed, one night stands, cohabiting whatever your situation is, having a child is tough. It aint like the times our grandmother was raising our parents. I remember having a whole village looking after me and my brothers while my parents either went to work or going somewhere they can't take us. Or just had some time to themselves. We had the whole family, cousins, even family like neighbours, all of us doing sleepovers what not. Everybody brought whatever they had and they cooked together, man, it was like a mini christmas everyday and we didn't have much. We had memories. Lots of it. Our parents, aunts and uncles didn't stress like we are today. They had a lot of support. These days, families are all doing their own thing. We only blend for holidays if at all. Nobody wants to reach out to you.. grandparents these days want to be young again, and they can't babysit for you cause travelling and casinos are the shit and they will tell you all the time that their children is grown and they're not about to look after babies all night. Aunts and uncles have their own stress, and they can't help you. You can't trust the neighbours more than ever with your children cause you'll hear on the news how a kid was kidnapped or molested. My mom was a single mother from the day I was birth am now 33 years old. Went to private school until we moved to the U.S. she never got a dime form my dad. Joined military, saved money, bought an apartment, bought a business with saved money and now that I’m better, tried coming back. I refused but due to her circumstances, I ended with custody of our child. I haven’t complained once about being a single dad. Keep your heads up regardless of the situation. Also, if you’re going have a child of wedlock, then you deserve what is coming to you. My life it is not easy but I make it work. Could be much easier if I wasn’t single dad but I accept my responsibilities, and I just deal with it. My child is a blessing tho.

Saying how foolish she was and that Jodie could never love her how I did, and how she misses her little girl and wants her to meat her now 4 y/o brother. When my kid, now 18 got wind of this, she took it upon herself to contact my ex and tore her a new asshole. She's got her daddy's mean streak and didn't hold back one bit. After she was done she said in no short term her mother was "dead" and she never wanted to hear from her ever again. The ex tried to blame me for turning our kid against her but I told her every ounce of venom she spewed came for her own feelings, not mine...and that she betrayed both of us when she left for the douche who clearly wasn't the soulmate she thought he was. I then told her we have nothing more to talk about, and to have a good life.
My daughter is now 24 y/o and engaged, and we never heard from my ex again after that day.

It aint like the times our grandmother was raising our parents. I remember having a whole village looking after me and my brothers while my parents either went to work or going somewhere they can't take us. Or just had some time to themselves. We had the whole family, cousins, even family like neighbours, all of us doing sleepovers what not. Everybody brought whatever they had and they cooked together, man, it was like a mini christmas everyday and we didn't have much. We had memories. Lots of it. Our parents, aunts and uncles didn't stress like we are today. They had a lot of support. These days, families are all doing their own thing. We only blend for holidays if at all. Nobody wants to reach out to you.. grandparents these days want to be young again, and they can't babysit for you cause travelling and casinos are the shit and they will tell you all the time that their children is grown and they're not about to look after babies all night. Aunts and uncles have their own stress, and they can't help you. You can't trust the neighbours more than ever with your children cause you'll hear on the news how a kid was kidnapped or molested. Having a partner that absolutely enjoyed himself making a child AND wants another, but he'll just walks out the house because he wants "peace" from HIS screaming toodler makes you feel like a single mom too. So YES, being a PARENT without ANY type of support makes you a SINGLE parent, and it IS hard AF.
