    This legislation is important and will have a significant impact. I am in a small cottage country municipality in Ontario and I believe there are at least 600+ short term rentals around here and home prices are out of touch with reality. I do hope Ontario looks at a similar policy change. Thanks for the information.

      Airbnb legislation is popping up all over the place. New York, Montreal, BC. I suspect we'll see some type of regulation across North America in the next few years. Thanks for the comment.

    This is key to it. Charge outrageous taxes for empty houses for days. Shrink the cap rates so investors don’t keep paying all cash on everything out there.

      Definitely need to do something to make sure homes are lived in, not used to store wealth.

    Hello Guys, could you advise me please, if you can buy a property to live full time and let out a certain part of the house short term, basically like a bed and breakfast/guest house basis. Thank you.

    Question - what is considered "short term"? Under 30 days, 6 months? 1 year? Great show:)

      The Short-Term Rental Accommodations Act defines a short-term rental as, "an accommodation provided to members of the public in a host's property, in exchange for money, for a period of less than 90 consecutive days."
