Bar ends FTW!
Looks great Graham! …and everyone, I can attest to how great the bike looks in the flesh! The blue (almost purple!) is sooo much better in real life than on the website, which just doesn’t do it justice! Really eye catching!
Smart build too - a really can do everything bike!
Looking forward to more videos
Nice review, love the reflective tape suggestion!
I bought a hardtail MTB in 2009. Bought a Salsa Fargo frame in 2011 and transferred the parts. Bike got stolen in France in 2012 but the French police recovered it for me a year later and It is still my daily ride. I think the fargo was intended for drop bars but I find it fine with flat bars. Only the front derailleur handlebars and shifters remain from the original bike. Used it for bikepacking and touring.
That's a beast of a bike! I want one, great video
Top work bud
Hi, i hipe you can help me. CuOuld you please explain why should I buy a Ghost Grappler surly instead a Karate Monkey surly, i mean what's the skills between each other, I'll apreciete your Answer very much Thanks a lot anyway
How does it compare to REI's ADV3.1? Both have bar end shifters, but 3.1 has hydraulic brakes.
Comparable bikes, but given the choice I’d personally opt for the Surly because I’d rather have a service relationship with a local bike shop over a multi-sport store. Having worked at a couple of bike shops, multi-sport bike shops have a tendency to be of less experienced mechanics (though not always the case).
Another thing to consider, the resale value on a Surly is likely going to be considerably better than a multi-sport branded bike. Theres a certain fandom for Surly’s that other bikes don’t necessarily garner.
I love the bike but to me it’s a bikepacking bike, not much else. My midnight special is all the gravel bike i need, and my ripley covers mtb
I think Surly is way overpriced for what they offer.
