I was actually at this concert here in Las Vegas about 6-7 years ago. There were multiple American artists on the show such as Earth Wind & Fire, Michael Bolton, Ne-Yo, Natalie Cole, Ruben Studdard, etc. The crowd went crazy for Charice with the standing O. She definitely stole the show!

That is what makes USA different than the Philippines. In the PH if you're in mainstream media definitely you will be known by almost everyone but in the US that does not seem to be the same. We/Us(coz I'm not sure if you're pinoy) know David Foster as the mentor for Celine Dion and other music legend but them being Americans does not. Just sayin'. But I'm surprised too.

Charice is for me one of the most talented singers in my home country (Philippines). This video is way long before she went out with her sexuality.
Charice owns that song. A talent, technique, and voice that rivals Whitney Houston. She did this video at 16 or 17 years of age. Her technique and control are flawless.. OMG. The heartbreaking fact is this; sadly she has thrown this away over a crazy delusion. 😞

RE: X Factor PHL, Charice was KZ's coach/mentor. So, they do have similarities not just musically but in musicality; they also seem to like edgy music and put in their own spin. To say that they're both very good is an understatement but and totally (and unfortunately) underrated.

Hi, this is the first time I am posting a comment on any of your reaction videos which by the way, I enjoy watching a lot. About your observation on the audience and them being quite compared to some performances that we normally watch where audience are more lively. I think it has something to do with the fact that during that performance of Charice, only few from the audience know her, know about her vocal capability , noticeably there was a little excitement coming from the audience when she stepped on the stage. So it was like a wait and see moment, considering how difficult this song can be and how Celine made this song genuinely hers,.. hmm just my opinion.

The concert is David Foster and Friends...("friends" meaning, the talents he had discovered in his many years in the music business). This concert also had Josh Groban and others. The songs performed are the songs composed by David Foster and the theme was to honor the original music composition - not so much as to maximize the singers' vocal range - thus, the singers did not belt out or run away with whatever they want to do with the song; they had to stick to the original score and highlight the beauty of the music.
Have you noticed Charice as a judge in the X Factor when KZ had her audition?
David Foster it was, indeed, during his 2009 North America tour. That one was at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.
