I don't see many people talking about this, but I think that they are actually talking about them as a kpop group. The lyrics said that bts is on the top and that others try to copy them. Also the part where they included I work hard everyday, while you're out clubbing? I think maybe they could be referring to other idols because a lot of idols just survive in this industry with their pretty faces and don't work hard as much. The word dope is used to express that they are a true cool group that nobody can copy, that they are the real deal.

i remember dope was the first video i saw from bts... i wasn't into kpop but thank to bts i really like kpop now. and i became an army... i was like WOW the choreographed is amazing but the best is the melody. Bts was the group that made me realize I was going to eventually become a pedonoona. When they came out I decided my bias was kookie (and he still is) but Then I found out he was a few months younger then me, and I realized as I got older, new young groups were going to continue debuting.

Hi JREKML the storyline is in reference to them being at their job working extremely hard and trying to make something out of their life "I gotta make it I gotta make it, fire" , in the lyrics they also indicate that they are young but because they are trying to get somewhere in life they are in the studio working their butts off instead of out partying like other young folks their age. I love BTS more now because of their hard work, anyone who works hard deserve the success, and btw I love your reactions, you're not boring and always seem to put a smile on my face. honestly the way that you react and try to dance , it reminds me of myself hahaha

What I got from this was that they were in love with a girl, but they broke up. They were devastated, but after a while, they grew up and got the most amazing careers: Jeongguk is a police officer, Jimin is an office assistant, Yoongi is a pilot, Namjoon is a bellhopper, Jin is a doctor, Hobi is a racecar driver, and Tae is a detective. This is my interpretation, especially because the first line of the chorus is "I reject rejection"
