Carpio: If you intimidate Filipinos with China's prowess, you are being spokesperson of China | ANC

  • Headstart: Former Supreme Court Associate Justice Antonio Carpio finds the alleged 'gentleman's deal' between former president Rodrigo Duterte and China 'disadvantageous' and does not apply to formal country policy. Former Duterte spokesperson Harry Roque said the former president and China agreed to maintain the status quo in the West Philippine Sea, and that resupply missions to the Philippine outpost in Ayungin Shoal will be limited to food and water supply, and no reconstruction.

The PH is getting water cannoned everyday, so what hardline is that China's spokesperson Roque talking about? A hard line policy is that of Indonesia, who's Navy doesn't hesitate to shoot at China's ships trying to approach Natuna Islands. or that of Argentina, who's patrol ships sank several Chinese ships trying to poach inside their waters. The PH is a punching bag right now, it does not fight back - that's not a hard line policy, it's a soft policy.

We are fortunate enough to have a brilliant adviser, Ex Justice Carpio, to guide us in our reactions or moves regarding our problem over the WPS row. I like his idea or suggestion, that is, to take the critical issues to the attention or authority of the proper UN office in order to secure law-based decisions or awards in our favor to stand on, being just a small country and powerless to look for unwanted trouble. Anyway, we are fully certain that we are on the right side of history, and we won't lose a good case, like ours. But aside from the idea of seeking intercession of the UN Court, there is one thing that seems disquieting and likely to bungle our efforts unnecessarily along our handling of the precarious situation or the standoff we are in with the aggressive Chinese intruders. It looks like we're dealing with enemies on two fronts: the one are the Chinese agressors and the other, our resident or local Pro-CHINA supporters/propagamdists. The first are definitely our foes, but the others are our home-grown citizens, plainly distractionists and traitors. As we are facing a big threat to the security of our territory; we cannot put up with this kind of treachery by our brethren especially at a time when our country needs our "oneness" or the patriotism of our people to cope with and repel such a big threat to our country. The unfaithfulness of these people is clearly underminin g the plans or strategy of our government and it is sapping its energies to deal with the extra concern, like this. What they're doing will only bolster the morale of our manipulative enemy. They should rather do or channel whatever support the can produce to prop up our sakes, instead of the enemy's. The thing here is that despite China's war-freakish stance or behavior, it won't even dare go as far as declaring and then waging war against a tiny Philippines, because that would be a ridiculous idea, beside the fact that its main target is unmistakably TAIWAN. It won't spoil its grand plan to invade Taiwan by a stupid idea of conquering it ahead of the scheduled time even without intending to shake up the US and allies to react since it has a tmetable for it. It's style is only good up to bullying a weak and vulnerable neighbor - that's us - to achieve its objective of eventually acquiring the strategic islets that we are holding out or guarding so defiantly from getting taken, as we are trying to frustrate China's plans of setting up a chain of small naval bases or fortifications - and with Taiwan on their minds. So while they carriy out their plans as irrationally or as aggressively as what we've witnessed and experienced, the Chinese really have to make their acts more intense and provocative purposely to try to "test" our FAITH on the MUTUAL AGREEMENT TREATY with the US, the thing that China probably calculates or assumes (suchTreaty) to be too cautious in its terms and not applicable to minor incidents, like water- cannoning or something of this nature. So, the Chinese would want it to look that way making a false semblance of gravity so that the Filipino's perception of the Defense Pact (for which the US has no action "right away" on some incidents) would have some negative impact or impression on the public's minds and would cause a lose of their faith, and that the people would have second thoughts about the sincerity of the US as regard the vaunted Mutual Defense Agreement. Under this assumption, the Chinese will increase their BULLYING TACTICS their way since our capability or response would only be a resort to DIPLOMACY which at this time has virtually become useless as a tool in pursuing our usual foreign dealings or transaction, esp under our rambunctious relationship with China. So, to play down effectively the the Mutual Defense Agreement thing, China would, need support from our disoriented Vloggers and some well-known propagandists to tone down the intensity of the roaring sentiment of nationalsm and keep the issue of China's intrusion cushioned from becoming "completely" beaten up or overwhelmed. I, for one, am seeing a need to disallow those guys or parties, aforementioned, from taking up the issues in the social media IF IT BE IN SUPPORT of CHINA and effect a BLACKOUT or APPROPRIATE RESTRAINT on this unconscionable ACT OF TREASON, while our GOVERNMENT is doing its best to save our land from this on-going EXTERNAL THREAT against us. We therefore want to hear ONLY a PRO-PHILIPPINES or nationalistic statements of PEOPLE'S support for our Country against the intruding CHINA. This is a serious matter. It's about LOVE of OUR COUNTRY.

I agree with his points on the failure of PRRD's policy of appeasement. BUT AMERICAN UNRELIABILITY IS SOMETHING THE ASSOCIATE JUSTICE OF ALL PEOPLE SHOULD CONSIDER.

The Russian Black Sea Fleet was the largest fleet in the Black Sea, it was easily wiped out by a country without a navy. In this age of drones, the country without a sizeable navy has everything to gain, the country with the biggest navy has everything to lose. It is China that should be intimidated because their numerous ships are sitting ducks for drones from Luzon and Palawan, and brahmos mobile launchers of the PMC.

If China succeeds in intimidating d PBBM administration(w/c we doubt)& yields to China’s desired goals then intimidation doesn’t stop from there, it will consistently continue without let down, in cahoots with Duterte & associates. External & internal intimidations, it is clearly d roles of Digong & associates their acts manifest their true intentions.
