I can definitely get long-winded sometimes!! That’s why I always try to add the chapters under the viewer window so people can jump around. Thanks so much for watching!!!
I just use the press and release. Each Snapshot has its own command center setting. Snapshot 1 - Press and Release to go to Snapshot 2. While in Snapshot 2 press and release to go to Snapshot 1.
That’s a great tip!! Thanks for sharing that! I think this can expand the functionality even more than what I cover in the video. Maybe it’s time for a follow up episode with some new tips like these!!
You can actually set this in Global settings, so every time you tap a snapshot, you can toggle it off by tapping it again. Global > Preferences > Snapshot Reselect (Toggle)
You’re absolutely right! When I made the video, they hadn’t included that as an option yet but since that update, now you can! I’m in the process of making an updated video to highlight that exact ability. Thanks so much for watching!!
I’m so glad it helped you!! And good luck when you start diving into MIDI 😄, I’m thinking I can also try to feature tips and tricks of MIDI in some future episodes. Thanks again for watching!!
Hi. Great video, I'm looking forward to trying this out on my hx effects! The only thing I'm wondering about is the hold feature to revert back to the previous snapshot & the time it takes, if you're on a clean verse & going into a heavy chorus or vice versa.. Thanks again
Great question! This method does have a very slight delay when the hold function switches it back (the other way is instant..) so you’re right, if you have it set up so you need immediate changes BOTH ways, you might have to get creative. For example, if your song needs an instant change from clean verse to heavy chorus, it will work to make the clean one the first snap and the heavy the second. But you’ll of course still have a momentary delay in going back. I guess another option is to try planning to hit with your foot a split second before you need the change. I know it’s not perfect but maybe that will help!
Great question!! I can look into it but I don’t know if it’s possible to have tap tempo functionality AND something else on the same switch….but maybe they’ll add that in a future update!!
Hi...I tried your method on hx stomp XL so command centre press/hold setting: press=next and hold=snaphot 1 homebase. But it doesn't work...only does next snap. What do I do wrong? Pls share details.
I’m sorry you’re having trouble with it! From what you described, maybe try setting the press=the actual snapshot number you want (instead of = next) I’m wondering if that might be confusing the commands. Also, there could be some global settings that might be causing the problem but I think that’s less likely…Finally, does it give you that same problem if you try assigning other foot switches (like maybe there’s one bad switch but it might work on another one)? Let me know and we’ll figure this out!!
@@TheHobbyMusician I think I have found a working solution for Stomp XL. The issue is that the Global settings override/overrule the up (FS1) and down (FS4) preset settings. Can't change that globally as far as I found out. Sollution: I assigned knob A (FS5) to HX snapshot with Press&Hold (next snap & homebase) and that works as you described. I assigned down (FS4) and the other four FS to blocks on/off. So, FS 1 2 3 4 6 are stompbox mode, five in total. (FS 7 8 are reserved for externals/expression.) Mode knob still works with up/down for bank switching. Hope this helps. If anyone has other solutions or tips, let me know.
That’s a great solution!! As you said, some of the global settings were messing with the desired goal but what you described is a great way for other XL users to accomplish the same thing. Thank you so much for sharing and as other methods come up, I’ll keep you updated!!
@@TheHobbyMusician Thanks, this is the XL control setup for me, yeah I hope we helped other Stomp & Stomp XL users. I didn't found this setup idea for XL on CZcams anywhere, so feel free. Thanks again.
You’re right about my tendency to be long winded!! When my episodes get longer like that, I hope that the chapters at the bottom help people jump around easier. In any case, thanks for watching and I hope the method works for you!

I’ve watched hours and hours of Stomp content, and nobody mentioned this. That’s worth a sub.
Thank you so much!! We’ll keep doing our best to put out more helpful stuff like this. Thanks again and play on my friend, play on!!
Didn't even think to use the hold and press options like that. You are the man. Thank you!
Thank you so much, I hope it can serve you well!! Thanks for watching!!

Awesome! That’s the power of command center my friend! Thanks so much for watching!!!
I needed this, thanks! A nice feature that will do before diving into the world of MIDI.

would it be possible tomorrow and hold to get the tap tempo?
That’s a great question!! Right now, I’m not exactly sure….but I can look into that!!

Well... You can have 5 by assigning the snapshot footswich to toggle between all 3 snapshots...
You’re right!!! Thanks for sharing, now I’ll have to go back and make a new episode about that and give you a shoutout!! Play on my friend, play on!
