I know they killed Steve Owen off due to Steve Kemp going to ITV. However this was a good send off! However they made a mistake of killing off Hunter and Melanie. Especially Hunter!
Why do these women like abusive men like Phil? Ugh☹️ Never understood the pull he and Grant had over women. Abusive and bullies. Not my idea of a catch. I am always glad to see them lose which is never enough.

You are not a being Alpha male picking on people smaller with way less strength, it's being a bully & not a quality to be admired. He's not cute at all maybe has some money but doesn't seem very nice, if those are his only attributions he's not worth the grief.
Although Eastenders isn’t in the same stratosphere of interesting stories and characters ..probably for last 12 years..I’m glad there is more diverse writers and the episodes match the BBC’s politically correct agenda. Haven’t watched it since 2013 but by all accounts I’m missing out.

Yes it was an end of an era to Phils and Steve’s feud but in 2003 was the gangster era of eastenders

The beginning of the end of when EastEnders used to be good. Steve Owen was a brilliant character.

Mad to think on the 1st march 2001 Phil got shot and exactly a year later Steve dies in a fire
And Steve got married exactly a year before his death
And then sod all happened on 1st March 2003 as EastEnders don't come on Saturdays (except Christmas Day) lol
It was a great story line and action ....not like today's tripe 🤢

Phil has his good side and bad side, he can be very reliable and very unreliable. He is not as slippery as Trevor Morgan was.
