    I killed a 360 bull in AZ unit 23 on 11-30-19. All of these points are spot on. One thing I will add is, concentrate on the north facing slopes. If it snows a lot, and then warms, the elk will go out of their way to find the slopes where snow remains. They love bedding down in the cold snow.

    Stoves (wall tent or teepee style) not allowed in Colorado second season in some areas affected by the ongoing fires. Check for US Forest and BLM alerts and restrictions before venturing out.

    I was lucky enough to get a late season Arizona bull tag this year. I’m expecting a very tough hunt.

    How long do you usually stay at a glassing spot if you don’t see nothing?

    • @GOHUNT
      @GOHUNT  Před 3 lety +1

      It depends! Generally stay pretty mobile.

    How much does the concentration of cover (and glassing limitations) influence your hunting area?

    Got a 7e kachina peaks hunt gonna be a hard climb but hopefully that means less pressure

    I got a late season hunt here in AZ 11/11. There's not alot of prime glass point since it is so thick. But I've seen plenty of sign on foot. My question is, if I find a promising spot, is it advantages to just sit it for a day since glossing is mostly out unfortunately

    Bring a pad for your rss and under your feet even a piece of cardboard under your feet keeps them warmer while glassing

      Good tip. I get cold feet easily and hadn't thought about bringing a little piece of cardboard for that.

    Hey Trail, first thanks for y'all sharing your guys tips tactics and knowledge I'm sure it's not just helped me but others. Second I'm in Utah and I have an extended archery elk tag I still have to try and fill the freezer. It doesn't really matter what I get but I'm lost on how to approach an extremely late season archery season. What do you suggest or would you apply the same as post rut to very late season? Thanks in advance!

    What about calling

    • @trailkreitzer9163
      @trailkreitzer9163 Před 3 lety +2

      Depends on the timing, Oct is still relatively decent for calling although it's mostly using a cow call or bugle to try to get a bull to respond and then moving in on a bull. Late Oct/Nov, you may hear some bugles but I have never had success calling in a bull during that time frame. I still think that glassing and spot and stalk hunting are your best bets from mid-Oct into Nov and Dec. It's always a good idea to have a cow call on hand though in case you need to use that to stop a bull in an opportunistic shooting lane.
