Madhavan hesitated to act in 3 Idiots also, not because of ego, because he thought he looks old and bulky and doesn't look like a college student. He only acted after Hirani and Amir Khan persuaded him to do it. In Tamil, both Vijay and Jeeva looked even younger and definitely Madhavan would have looked much older. So he avoided. He has acted as a coward with Arya also. This guy is mature..
