Step 1: paint a awesome looking miniature
Step 2: cover it in shit
Step 3: remove some of the shit
Step 4: you have even more awesome miniature
@@YourLocalInquisator thanks dude I’ve been waiting for help for about 2 months now 💀
Directions unclear, my blood angel that i spent 8 hours highlighting is now completely green
G.W: Sweats in Nuln oil.
@@s2korpionic How so? Never used Nuln oil and now that I feel I should at least test it out eventually, I hear people saying this.
Hella cool - how does this compare to just burying the model in wet soil for a few days though?
@@MaverickNicolson this isn’t the bottle I thought you were going to put it in. 💀
My mind has been corrupted by slaanesh
Before you added the mineral spirits to thin it, it looked like he was absolutely drenched in raw sewage
Like even just it being drenched in it could signify that it's just fought some nurglings or something akin to it.
Impressive, Very nice.
Now let’s see Peter Turbo’s Paint Job.
"draw the rest of the fucking owl"
Friendship with Dorn over. Vulcan is my new Primarch.
It looks so dirty. As any battle-hardened warrior should look like. I love it
There’s grime and there’s “I wanna take a 2hr shower and sleep for a week” grime. Just infantry things.
I was worried there for a minute. The end result looks amazing though!
Yeah you have to be careful because if you let it set and dry it's a bugger to get off ans can literally cover the model.
The true definition of “trust the process”
This impirial fist looks so good
I love grimy marines and minis, it just feels so badass
Wow. Thin the dried enamel with white spirit to reactivate some of it and then take it off... This is so much simpler and easier to control than dealing with cotton buds or cloth wet with mineral spirits. It's so much more intuitive too 🤦TYBG 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Mineral spirits and white spirit is the same stuff, just a hydrocarbon differences or something
Damn. Talk about trusting the process
As somone whos taking there first steps to becoming a firefighter and paints warhammer minis, maverick is a huge inspiration to me
Don't forget the varnish before applying the grime
I had heard the recipe changed and it was more green. I can see that here. Did you notice a change too?
Oh for sure. Used to be red brown but honestly I don't mind the green for some colors. Looks great for anything warm
recently ordered some, must still be from the old batch tho because it's muddy brown af.
I'd be happy with either tho.
If you want less green to it they also make "winter streaking grime" which is basically the same product but with less green. There is also Dark Streaking Grime if you are after a darker shade.
That tune is awesome.
OoO you too know White Bat, I fell on his music by accident and immediately liked it’s style.
Also you are incredibly skilled at painting, I really wish I could do the same.
I hope more and more people get inspiration from you, and maybe even game workshop
For a second there i thought he was ruining his minis
I see we had the same idea for imperial fists: “successor shoulder pad on one side, traditional Fists on the other.”
Always great to see someone making a Last Wall protocol army.
He crawled out of nurgles poop shoot
On the off chance this is seen, I'd love to see you do a Thousand Sons Sorcerer. Arcane and esoteric shit my guy
Just now getting into painting Warhammer and I'm amazed at every moment with how creative you can get with it
This is still one of the coolest things I’ve seen in the hobby
Grimedark
Went from a ripe banana to a 2 day old one.
i bought a bottle of this stuff and have still never used ti passed a couple test models, im always terrified im going to destroy hours of painting lol
Took this method and applied to my entire army do love the effect !!!! Thanks man
Love streaking grime. I now use it on all of my new models haha I typically use hairdryer to speed up the drying process.
I can smell this video
This is the best advice I've seen on here so far, thank you+
The model looks so cohesive and the color range is harmonized so well using that trick. I'm sure if you plucked out some high points with some silver or your brightest yellow the scratches would just explode off the mini. Nice work!
Stunning
Nice painting skills! (Idk how to paint the miniatures correctly) also (SUBSCRIBER GAINED!)
Dammit, im covered in Nurgle coom again...
That looks incredible, epic work dude
Very nice
It's a life hack until you realize how expansive and rare this stuff is
So buy some artists oil paint and thin it with white spirits instead. Only difference is that you'll have to figure out the colour on your own. It's going to be a hell of a lot cheaper though.
@@treborrrrr not exactly tried that already the streaking grime actually is perfect to be used for streaking( as the name may say ), if u wanna use a whash its a waste IMO , you oil option is better for that
Used this before! Yep it's such a good product and technique.
I swear that stuff goes on like what your toilet bowl looks like after a night of margaritas and fajitas.
Love the clean look of the space marines
if this was a food then its bussin
Bro got hit with the nickelodeon slime
Отличная работа!
PSA: seal the model with clear coat b4 applying streaking grime. The white sprits will strip your paint.
thats is not true, the white sprit is oil based and will not strip your standard acrylic paints. you either brushed really hard and chipped the paint, or you just spreading false information.
@@xxbabaxx12 to be fair sealing any model before weathering is normal is a good choice stops the paint getting chipped or damaged and allows a safer and easier reset if the weathering doesnt work out
@@xxbabaxx12 still, using a coat of varnish is just safer if you want to avoid chipping paing by pressing too hard.
where do you buy this colors
It looks very very cool👍😎
So "grimdark" is synonymous with "grimy", I see.
Apparently so, also ignore the fact that grimdark is a storywriting term not a visual style.
@@thecrabmaestro564 yep. It drives me mad. So many "professional" painters who just slap a thick coat of grime on miniatures and scream "Grimdark!!!!!", like some caveman who just discovered how to start a fire
This is not what I thought when I read about something in a bottle.
Grimderp in a bottle next
MOREEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you're gonna wipe most of it off anyway, pre-thin with white spirits, mist on a thin coat with airbrush, then wipe off less. Pooling it on like that works, but you're also throwing away a LOT of product...
"BATTLE BROTHER! I HAVE FALLEN IN A MUD PUDDLE"
That legit looks amazing
My go-to is heavily watered down Wildwood contrast. Use water, not contrast medium, and thin it down until the Wildwood starts pulling back on your pallet. Then just slap it on.
Really cool idea.
For a moment I thought he'd fallen to nurgle and I was happy.
He looks like he gave a Nurgle Daemon an Imperial Fisting!
I thought at first you were giving it Imperial Guardsman colors
Seen this done with oils, works really well.
The first few seconds I was telling myself. It's just an imperial fist turning into a plauge marine. But the end result was actually really awesome.
Is...is that....is that a Black Templars right shoulder pad?!
It’s not uncommon for marines from different chapters to serve in the Templars. It’s often used as a punishment, or cleaning of chaos from the marine.
Another great tip
Grime dark
Which streaking grime is that?
Great technic and skills !
Dang! Ez weathering!
Wow that’s so cool!
Name of that paint?, Cant really see the name because of text being in the way
Nice ima buy me a pot and try it on some death-hungry space robots.
A yellow black templar
So the model itself looks stunning, I love the technique. Im confused about a couple of things, this Space marine is painted as an Imperial Fist, with a Black Templar's shoulder, and an Iron Warrior's Chain sword... Loremaster's of the keyboard please correct me if im far out in left field. The model is amazing though and far better than anything I could paint.
You're not wrong. I mean, there have been marines in lore that have transferred chapters, and would still display old heraldry, but that was mostly in 30K times.
Hey could you make a Gray knight I'm working on an army for my mom and I'd love to see you would make them
Nuln oil but longer
I was like nooooooo, then i was like yesssssss hahaha
Great work i was inspired to make s lamenters killteam
Well done
Instructions unclear. My unit of terminators turned heretic and now worship nurgle.
if you want more grimdark/more random grime pattern.. use a Q-tip soaked in the spirits and dab the streaking grime away.. rather than looking like a heavy filter over the paint, it will leave spots and stains as well.. will look far more dirty
Looks great, do you think that would show up on black armour? Maybe if I did some very light greys and blues on the black before applying this stuff?
You gotta slime that guy
Impresionante acabado! 👍👍
nice tutorial and nice music
Noice
Wouldn’t be easier with a green ink, or wash?
💯🔥Dope asf.....👌🏿
Sick technique!
Brother Leodinus really hasn't been following the tenants of armor maintenance for a while.
Would be really good for an armageddon diorama
Sick
Could you get the same effect by just painting on thinned down streaking grime?
That's pretty dope

It looks like you rubbed sh*t all over it.
Perfect for you.
What grime do you speak of? “Cover your mini in grime” literally doesn’t help me at all. Lol
