I was 22 when ABBA toured Australia in 1977 and, while both women are devastatingly beautiful my favourite was Agnetha. I'd not seen anyone as lovely as her and haven't since. She literally took my breath away.

Agreed, Abba were above all a feelgood group. But their songs had so much range, they could get you up and dancing with 'Waterloo' and ', then make you cry with 'Chicitita' or 'The Winner Takes it All'. It's astonishing English is Bjorn's second language, when he writes such incredible and moving lyrics!
My mom (who is now in a nursing home) came from a very musical and musically talented family and she had a very good ear. She only likes the best music and being a wholesome old fashioned lady only likes "family friendly". I recently shared a couple of ABBA's songs with her (Waterloo and Take a Chance on Me) and she said has fallen in love. If you knew my mom you'd know they really hit it as far as the full package!

I was 21 in 1974 when Abba won Eurovision. I've been in love with Agnetha and Abba.s wondrous music ever since. Pop geniuses big time and the girls magical vocals still resonate down the years. Such a powerful voice based on her tone. Usually a powerful female voice is a little on the deeper, raspier side. I’ve enjoyed a couple of recent interviews with her as an older elegant woman. She’s very humble and still surprised about their success.

Both Agnetha and Frida not only complemented each other with their vocal range and talent, making some of the 1970s greatest harmonies, but they were exactly the same height (172cm), had the exact same figure and body type. She is the power house of the vocal, be it solo or group. There is so much strength in her voice. Frida's vocal is deep, the combination of their vocals are simply legendary.

You get much more "space" for the upper registers to do things and often have to cut much more down in the lower registers, which in turn gives you the opportunity to use more power for the frequencies higher up that are what you identify mostly in a dense mix with lots of things going on). And, yes, Agneta has power in the upper registers and at the same time sounds clear. Frida provides more of the foundation/bottom and Agneta has the fantastic angelic clear upper registers. When they sing unison they combine to that perfect tone.

She is still very beautiful at 71, her lines give her face a softness and character that show she has smiled often, suffered much and loved deeply. How much more attractive that is, than a mask-like, expressionless face achieved by a surgeon's scalpel and botox! Agnetha's dramatic life story is the stuff of fiction. During Abba's glory years she suffered multiple phobias including flying, stage fright, fear of crowds and fear of open spaces, which was of course very difficult for her with all the group's international touring and performances. She is a private person who has fought hard to keep a life for herself and her children out of the media spotlight. I so admire her for that. She suffered a breakdown after her divorce from Bjorn, and recovered with therapy. She kept her second marriage of 1990 as private as possible - it ended in divorce after just 3 years and she has remained single since. Agnetha suffered the terrible personal tragedy of her mother's suicide (aged 71, she jumped from a building), and her father's death a year later, an horrific double blow. Grieving their loss, alone and at her lowest ebb, she was targeted by a determined fan/stalker. Against her better judgement, she had a 2 year affair with him - unaware he'd been hanging around her home all along, hoping to meet her. When she eventually realised he was not a boyfriend but an obsessive fan, she was horrified and ended the relationship. But he wouldn't take no for an answer. A humiliated Agnetha was forced to go public on the affair, taking him to court to get a restraining order and have him deported from Sweden. This lady has lived one hell of a life, full of incredible, exhilarating highs and crashing lows. No wonder she has her priorities right, is not impressed by fame, and knows what really matters in this crazy world. She's a very special human being.

I was 21 in 1974 when Abba won Eurovision. I've been in love with Agnetha and Abba.s wondrous music ever since. Pop geniuses big time and the girls magical vocals still resonate down the years. Agnetha is such a strinking natural beautiful girl. All my mates at the time felt the same.And the golden voice of a diva.
Her voice is really what true pop is!!! Most current pop singers nowadays aren’t as talented as those girls back then.
Agneta still sings amazingly even though she’s in her early seventies. So does Frida.
She really was a Grace and Beauty. She could go straight to Hollywood.
She'll never go to Hollywood. She's too smart. Hollywood, these days, is full of nothing but has beens, never-was-losers, and techno-types who have lost sight of what it means to be a beautiful woman with talent.

She is the power house of the vocal, be it solo or group. There is so much strength in her voice. Frida's vocal is deep, the combination of their vocals are simply legendary.
@O. Enders Agnetha is like treble, Frida is like bass. Treble will always be the main sound but need the bass to boost its effect.
@@JS-ev4xc Still, technically speaking, there is actually always more power in an audiosignal the lower down you go in the frequencies.
(A "problem" well known if you mix. You get much more "space" for the upper registers to do things and often have to cut much more down in the lower registers, which in turn gives you the opportunity to use more power for the frequencies higher up that are what you identify mostly in a dense mix with lots of things going on).
And, yes, Agneta has power in the upper registers and at the same time sounds clear.
Frida provides more of the foundation/bottom and Agneta has the fantastic angelic clear upper registers. When they sing unison they combine to that perfect tone.

Everybody know that ABBA is one big collective where all play their parts.
If anything Björn and Benny (and especially Benny) are always seen as the most important members. Without them there would be no songs at all. You kind of can hear "Abba like" songs even without Frida and Agneta for SOME songs of the other artists or groups that Björn and Benny have written for.

She is still very beautiful at 71, her lines give her face a softness and character that show she has smiled often, suffered much and loved deeply. How much more attractive that is, than a mask-like, expressionless face achieved by a surgeon's scalpel and botox!
Agnetha's dramatic life story is the stuff of fiction. During Abba's glory years she suffered multiple phobias including flying, stage fright, fear of crowds and fear of open spaces, which was of course very difficult for her with all the group's international touring and performances. She is a private person who has fought hard to keep a life for herself and her children out of the media spotlight. I so admire her for that.
She suffered a breakdown after her divorce from Bjorn, and recovered with therapy. She kept her second marriage of 1990 as private as possible - it ended in divorce after just 3 years and she has remained single since. Agnetha suffered the terrible personal tragedy of her mother's suicide (aged 71, she jumped from a building), and her father's death a year later, an horrific double blow.
Grieving their loss, alone and at her lowest ebb, she was targeted by a determined fan/stalker. Against her better judgement, she had a 2 year affair with him - unaware he'd been hanging around her home all along, hoping to meet her. When she eventually realised he was not a boyfriend but an obsessive fan, she was horrified and ended the relationship. But he wouldn't take no for an answer. A humiliated Agnetha was forced to go public on the affair, taking him to court to get a restraining order and have him deported from Sweden.
This lady has lived one hell of a life, full of incredible, exhilarating highs and crashing lows. No wonder she has her priorities right, is not impressed by fame, and knows what really matters in this crazy world. She's a very special human being.
