That's the strategy I'm adopting. I have some decent programming skills already and wanna become a freelancer, so I'm thinking of starting by taking on clients who want simple, static 3-5 pages websites, which would only take me a few days to build. Not the most exciting stuff, but it will enable me to get my foot in the door and then gradually move to more complex and high-paying projects such as web & mobile apps. I'm from Southern Europe, in a low cost of living area, so I'm not even looking for anything close to 60-80k/year right away (I'll be living like a king when I reach that!), something like €1-2k/month will be enough for me at the start and then I can build up from there.
Nice so you definitely can make a good amount
I appreciate all the effort you put into trying to help people. Real talk. I’ve been self learning development since late April 2022 (almost a year in) with 2 kids and a bm I support it’s definitely hard and in this job market it’s crazy.
Still finding time to teach myself tho and not giving up or getting discouraged because I know it’s gonna be hard. I was in the streets most of my life until around 10 years ago so it’s even harder being a poc from the street to get into this field. But we not stopping. It’s only up from here! Here for the long run!
Big love 🖤🖤🖤
Love the way you get to the point. You've made me feel more realistic about web dev job right now

Yes sir I think I’m the only one in this niche that does that
Giving hope Joe, thanks.
This was a massive help. I really feel this guy's problem right now. I'm glad I'm not the only one, thank you.

What up Joe! 2 interviews this week for an email dev and I’m pumped
Great Joe! . woow I'm sure junior developers will appreciate this video . Great tips . I have been following you for a while, I love the variety of your video content (from Senegal).😇
Thank you for being honest about job opportunities.
Really good advice. Always keeping it real 💯
True talk... Love the advice
Awesome stuff man 🙏
Thank you for your guidance I love your content so much ❤
Joe's absolutely right. Even if you work at a Wordpress agency, you need several skills and proof, projects, that you can do the work. I had an interview like that last week. That's why I'm going with the Content Editor route to get into the industry.
Haven't been following the trends for a while, and I notice myself being a lot less distracted. It's good to be involved in the community and be excited about things coming out, but a lot of the time if we are being honest with ourselves, we are just wasting our time. I got hired for an IT Help Desk role recently. Isn't coding, but I'm getting a bag, and my skills are still useful, and can be in the future. Wherever you land, it's good just to look at it as a stepping stone and an opportunity.
Hey buddy, I fully agree with you on this topic, we tend to focus on learning way too much in order to be ready for that first job as a developer, I have to follow your input on this, and I believe it is going to work.
Hi , thank you for the help i appreciate all your efforts
He put the bag In the bag cuz duh bag izz duh bag 💰
Yea good video and good advice.💯👍
Thank you for the content ❤
True! I'm looking to pivot to shopify theme development myself. having learned react since months and not being able to land a decent role. Also the tech market is at all time low, no one wanna hire juniors that makes it even harder ig.
I could really use that 100$ to buy your Shopify course lol.
Thank you for your content anyways!
Can't wait to get started
One of the realest teacher. thanks
Just found out about this channel and honestly all the videos I watched so far have been very valuable to me!
Glad you like them!
Thanks Joe for the great advice! Really helped me to strategically plan my path to getting a front-end developer job.

A good explanation.

thanks for sharing your experience 🤩
this vid pop up in my notification yesterday, as a newbie just starting to learn web dev, i think its one of the most important tips! But i think there's gonna be a lot of people out there like me with an imposter syndrome for taking the first job or even looking for a job.
really needed this right now, I'm in the exact same spot
Gotta follow joes process 👍
Great advice as always Joe.
Not sure how we convinced ourselves we'd need expert level skill at 20 different tools before we can apply to jobs... Probably impostor syndrome.
I'm taking this as a sign from the universe Joe, and I'm going to start applying today. At the very least, I'll have interview experience.
Thank you!
Let's get at the top !!!!!!!
Start off with Email Developer...Content Editor....as Joe suggests... 🛑 Swinging for fences... Thank You, CodingPhase
Great content
nice content to share thanks
Nice!
Thanks for the amazing advice! I’m currently a web content design specialist, and I work with mostly HTML and CSS. I’m diving into JavaScript right now during my free time, so hopefully my next job will be in front-end. I’m happy to know that I made the right choice by getting industry experience first! Patience is key :)
How di ñd you got into that job?
Bro. Can I get your number?
Thank you CodingPhase.
This is the best video i've watched in a long while. I've been learning Html, css, javascript, react etc, i have built some projects but still struggling to get my first job in my country Nigeria. I will adhere to your advice and focus on html email development, and am hopeful i'll succeed.
dont do that he is talking about the american market and people should be aware that india and other countires have their own workflow and has nothing to do with one another,,, look at your market and whats in demend dont follow blindly brother
@@ExpatTraderFX thats a good advice. Ive spent a lot of time trying to learn react and where I live there are more people trying to find their first react job but there are no html email developer jobs in my country.. We dont live in the colapsing USA.
I started my job as a jr making 50k at a small agency and have doubled my income in less than a year. If anything I learned a lot more working for an agency then I ever would have starting at a big tech company, I wouldn’t change it any other way
hi sir,
i hope you are doing great,
your videos motivates me a lot,
love from India💌
email development is a great way to get into the industry and build experience. I wish I knew sooner.
Yo Joe,
I’m a trucker I took advantage of the sale that you had with the year membership. Trying to find the time to study so I can get the bag.
I'm getting into coding phase the moment I can afford it. Like I literally didn't know this was possible. Thank you coding phase
Thank you
I am from Africa , I love your content
Yo! This is a comment! Thanks Joe. Word.
I wasted so much time trying to learn everything before applying for a job that looking back at that time i realise i could have been so far ahead. Eventually worked out tho and now I'm a full stack developer with laravel and vue js. Don't waste time. Start applying as soon as you got the fundamentals down
I have laravel ,php skill ,aswell as java script and bootstrap it's not just easy to get in still have to learn vue and react for my frontend
Shout out to the homie on his new job opportunity!!
Great content. im a self taught currently doing js already did html and css. Was asking if u can share sites that offer html and css jobs as u said today that u recommend. Thank you. Fan from KENYA
Agree with the content of the video. 👍
Could you make a review of the portfolio of your viewer ? If I submit mine ?
bro how do you get a job with just html, css and javascript though? would really appreciate if you can answer this.. i been knowing that for a while, i also know tailwind and python.. etc, im just learning React and Node now, could take me about 1-2 months to start applying for front-end/full-stack positions.. but would be awesome if i could land a job just using HTML n css, javascript..
Is the tech accelerator still open, by the way? Great video, Joe!
yes tech accelerator is still open book a session with me a lets start calendly.com/meetcodingphase/30min
Shoot i would be happy to make $60-$80,000 a year 😩 im aiming for it! 💪🏾
Nice video
Thanks
Gems, bag, truth, proof.
What can we do if we don't have other jobs apart from front end, back end or full stack?
There are no email developer jobs in my country for example
Freelancing, remote work. I don't know if you're in Russia, but last year Fiverr and Upwork banned accounts from there. Maybe use a VPN?
@@bhutchin1996 you can do Fiverr and Upwork work just using HTML, CSS , and Javascript?
Pls what of someone looking to break into another area of tech such as cloud Devops Engineering, what kind of advice would you give us? Is it even possible? Or should I just start with Frontend development.
I’ll be honest don’t know anything about devops
what are the requirements to be web producer
Love your channel. How do I submit my portfolio for a review?
email me codingphase at gmail
Hey Joe, what are some good Content Editor job position titles to apply to?
Content editor, product editor, webmaster, web producer, web specialist, content manager, and there’s more just search by html and cms you will see all the jobs available
@@CodingPhase thanks Joe!
Great content. But for those of us outside North America, it's difficult to get any of these kinds of jobs. What do we do?
Focus on being a full stack developer and focus on things people are not willing to learn for example Wordpress, PHP, Drupal, c# .net,
@@CodingPhase thank you
that 100k plaque will be well earned for sure
I’m not totally clear on what job your student got. And beside email dev or Spotify design, did I hear you say that there are plain HTML jobs?
Email developer
Let's get this bread
I have a background in marketing, and I've been learning front-end development for six months.
I had an interview with a web agency last week. That's one of the things they do, marketing. Most web agencies develop with Wordpress, so that would be a recommened skill on top of PHP. Web agencies generally don't pay well, but for many people it's a foot in the door.
@@bhutchin1996 Thank you for sharing your experience with me. It's helpful to know that web agencies often use Wordpress and that working for one
definitely can use that experience to your advantage

"Senior" is a title
"Software Engineer" is a title
"Front End Developer" is a title
All titles are used as excuses to pay you less, to varying degrees and depending on your points of refference.
I'm newbie to this channel tbh the content that ur delivering is damnn Good
Currently persuing B-tech cse second yr and new to frontend n ur channel helping me a lot ✨✨
keep posting the same content...
Love 💕💕 From India(❁´◡`❁)
Does age matter when trying to learn to code?
No anyone can learn. I do believe after 55 is a bit harder to get a job as a new developer at that point you might have more success as a freelancer
@@CodingPhase im 19 in may and i didn't get into college, im about to start self learning. is there a thing as "too young"?
@@atarii. Some kids start learning around the ages of 14-16 or so. By the time they get to college they're already pretty good. Just start now
@@ExileEditing alright thanks ^^
Lol, Hype Stack 😂. It does take time, but incoming devs might be misled by learn x,y,z in 1hr, 2hrs. Some tutorials are really long. Look for course style content that breaks it up in about 10min chapters and has a particular focus.
I tried to get a udemy PHD! llllollll
Same here. Actually finished several courses. Udemy courses are a mixed bag. There are some with COMPLETE in the title but they're about 30 minutes long, and then there are the 90-hour courses.
Dont want a 100 dollars ... i want a HTML email developer course !🙏
I feel like react is too hard for nothing😂
Udemy PHD...accurate! xD
I'm looking for that 🍞😁
what's up Joe hit me back up on the emails lol
I got you
