- Pros and cons of using a Samsung NX1. Overall the camera is still usable but sometimes it can be really annoying. Some issues i didn't mention in this video include:
-Rubber wearing off
-UI Freeze
-Horrible rolling shutter performance

The rolling shutter is not good yes, but on part with the Sony A7IV ...
Overall, this cameras is still great, the AF is good, it has excellent colors, the 16-50mm and 50-150mm are great, the little 30mm and 45mm are true gems, and the video clarity and sharpness are outstanding in good light ...
Man I own the NX1 and it is actually quite amazing. Those small annoyances are not enough to keep people away. Which is why you still see this camera best many of the newest APC cameras out there. Only Fuji who recently came out with their 40mp camera is now beating this one. But for the price of 500 or less for a body, downsampled 6k to 4k, USB3 with charging, and HDMI 4k 422 10Bit external recording or 8 Bit internal in H265 which was way ahead of its time makes this camera a real gem! It also has weather sealing and the original Samsung batteries actually have great amount of life. 3rd party not so much. I use both FD lenses and the original 16-50S lens and it’s amazing. I would recommend this camera to anyone who is on a tight budget but wants a great system!
I've started to like this camera more lately. The video quality is actually nice after you play with it. I think it's only 8bit 4:2:2 external though
My cinematographer owned this camera and my projects came out beautiful. What NLE sys do you use for editing?
I personally use Final Cut Pro and have been converting to Pro Res LT on a Mac Pro 6,1 (trashcan) which seems to handle playback just fine with two GPUs with 6GB each. Pro Res LT still maintains a ton of detail, and gives slightly faster editing but increases the file size by 3. If you have the hard drive space that’s the way to go. If not, you can stick with H265 and run with that if you are on a modern M series Mac.

I bought the Samsung nx300 used 2 years ago for 100€. Crazy offer, I know. Great camera, small (easy to carry around) and good quality pictures. I really got into photography and recently I felt like upgrading.. but after some research, I found out that it’s not worth it to change device. There’s nothing missing, it’s a budget camera, great pictures, everything working etc. So having the 18-55 lens, I thought of just upgrading the lens . Then I learned about extension tubes! So I bought an extension tube to take macro pictures with the 18-55 and a Samsung to Nikon adapter as well, to use my boyfriend’s 75-200 mm Nikon lens .
To sum up, 45€ for the extension tube and the adapter, 100€ for the camera all in all 150€ and I’m able to take macro and zoom pictures with a great camera!
Definitely worth it!
NX300 is quite nice camera. Only thing i would miss is the viewfinder
I actually started with the NX500 and after an unfortunate accident I found the NX1 on eBay since I still had prime lenses. The camera tends to struggle with auto focus with some of my lenses. But I am happy overall.
Its was discontinued almost 10 years ago. What are you complaining about ? The fact that this camera still makes very desent pictures and mirror automatic is still perfectly alive is already a big luck. Most of the plastic movable parts does not operate for 10 years, they degrade and crack. I also remember that it is quite unpleasant to use this camera without unlocked engineering menu. Because it was discontinued long ago, there are ways to unlock it and to reflash the firmware. In my area they cost 600$ -900$ for the naked body and i have no idea why . I think that, like with tablet Google Nexus 10 (that were done by Samsung as well), NX1 is another example, where Samsung have overdone themselves. It was the camera that was ahead of its time. But now, if you earn the money with photoshooting , it is definitively time to buy something more modern.

Great camera but with some flaes
Bought this when it was released only used it a few times but its a good camera. But in this day and age with phone's there's not much point.
App is working for android but yes, I have an iPhone and it’s frustrating buy many other brands the app works really bad.
Battery is not great yes
In my place the NX lenses are cheap and easy to find
I don’t use the nx1 for video so for me it’s not an issue
Summing it’s still a great camera if you find it cheap, let say 500 dollars and less depending on condition.
Found my NX1 a few years ago for $800 plus 2 batteries and 4 lenses and 2 lens filters and a camera bag. All from the same seller for just $800 total.

Hello! I am from peru. I work creating content on social media, I was robbed few weeks ago (Sony equipment) and I had to buy what I could afford with 200 dollars. I found a Samsung NX200 for $120, the kit lens (20-50) is surprisingly sharp. Is there a big difference if I buy the 30mm f2? Thank you!
Hey. Sorry to hear you got robbed. If you mean the 30mm f2, there should be a big difference as you get much sharper and brighter aperture lens.

The 30mm f2 is awesome I just got it a few weeks ago on Ebay, sharp with nice bokeh I use it on my NX500

I have a Samsung mirrorless camera but I can't get the camera to work with my Android phone.

I don't know how to fix it. It has only worked very rarely for me
The best way to get this to work is to buy an older tablet with the correct android version that will work. It’s not idea but it works if you really need it.
There was going’ to be150mm to 300mm can only find the demo unit video on CZcams from 2015 can use other mounts to get lens past 200mm and the 50-150 S lens by Samsung is very good if can find one plus the money for it

As still shooter I do not care about video. Problem is: the price on the used market is the same of a Sony a7 full frame.......
