Just a tip, don’t hit weighted balls with a wood bat unless it’s a training bat. And the ink dot on a maple bat should face you or directly away from you when you swing. It represents the strongest side of the bat.

We don’t usually play baseball in our leagues here in the afternoon in summer but this year is obviously different. I personally like morning games other than the early wake up, afternoon games when it’s not crazy crazy hot are fun. Night games are the best though. But with this season, here in NJ we just have to deal with the 95 degree heat and heat index’s of 100 in afternoon games. But it isn’t as bad as what hot in AZ is for you guys. But personally for me, night games are the best, or maybe afternoon games on a late October afternoon are also awesome.

he narrowed it down good and probably made a good choice, the Marucci AM22 has lighter swing weight and the Louisville C271 has more pop but a little heavier swing weight

Edit: also the marucci models are really good, i just got a rizzo model and it has a lot of pop to it, but since masons getting older, i would have him start taking bp with the wood bat( not on the pitching machines though they can break your bat easily). Itll help him hit better from what ive experienced taking bp with mine
