Just basic supply and demand. People aren't changing and the stock has been built. It's worthless until it sells. Still think there's more to come.
🤞
It is not a discount. It is just overinflated prices being adjusted.
Same difference.
Love this reply. 👍👍👍👍
@@DefinitelyNotAGuruYeah, but deliberately inflating prices so that you can then ‘discount’ them is just a shady sales tactic designed to fool people they are getting a bargain when it’s nothing of the sort.
What goes around, comes around ….. barely a couple of years ago cash offers were treated with disrespect.
👍👍
Jimbo , another , Academy Award, popularly known as the "Oscar" nomination ~ CZcams video in the bag, here ... Briiliant well done, journaling , jovial Jimbo = thank you .. 👏👏👏.
I always get overlooked by Hollywood 😂
Interesting the number of deals out there. I suspect dealers had lots of cars on back order in the hope that customers would be there only to be hit with higher finance rates and inflation scaring people off.
I saw Lotus offering 0% finance on the new Emira on PCP. Over 3 years that’s a saving of over £20k in interest. So even as a cash buyer you could take the pcp deal and take advantage of the 0 finance and when the PCP is done either settle with cash or move on. They will take 0 deposit also.
👍
Thank you for sharing such comprehensive research - great deals for those in a position to take advantage of them
Thanks very much
Peugeot e-308 on Autotrader, brand new £32k, list price £42k. Same for electric Astra’s. Why on earth Stellantis think anyone will pay £42k for an EV that does about 200 miles real-world range is beyond me!
It’s bizarre isn’t it. I wonder if they know that the Tesla Model 3 is a thing
That some great prices great video jim
Thanks 👍
Excellent video, many thanks.
You are welcome!
It just shows how much we are being robbed
👍
Very interesting and informative…. Many thanks. Those discounts are enormous and way above the dealers usual margin. Presumably extra cash from the manufacturer to shift unsold an over age stock. Check it’s not been damaged/flooded etc.
Cheers Jim for rooting out these great deals more reason to subscribe and save a lots of ££££s
👍👍👍👍👍
Here we go the market is coming back to the buyer , many thanks
Yes 🙌
Great video as always. Fully understand people who want to buy a car but for me I would prefer to lease and hand back.
Me too
👍👍👍. Thank you Jim
Any time
Excellent video!
Thank you very much!
Nice one, Jim 👍🏼
Thanks 👍
good info again Jim
Thanks 👍
I bought a new £43,000 Audi A4 Avant at a massive discount, from Audi as a private buyer but on the condition I didn't discuss the details of the deal and I didn't sell it for 12 months or discuss where I bought it from. Sorry I can't help you more but have cash and look for new cars from the manufacturer at places where these cars are sold by manufacturers.
👌
Hi Jim can you comment what websites to look at for car finance and personal loan rates you have seen what look good please. Thanks
I’m not that knowledgeable on the best places to go but in my comparison videos I often look at Halifax for car finance and Tesco Bank for personal loans. Just have a good shop around.
Tesla offering 15,000 free supercharger miles with any lease on their site. Q2 finance push.
👍 I bet you have to use them within 6 months, that’s the usual crack.
@@DefinitelyNotAGuru yep it is, they’ve apparently done some more price slashing in Europe but nothing in the U.K. yet
Very interesting pal
Thanks for the visit
I got a pre-reg 23plate 25miles on the clock Hyundai bayon ultimate 48v mild hybrid 100bhp for £18k, list was £25.600 so £7.6k that I did not have to pay , ok it was 6month old but for that money, I could not resist , was going to buy a vx corsa but that was £20k and no discount offer, the Hyundai is a much better car and better equipped, oh yes payed cash so not pcp or hp
Nice little car
Don’t forget if the list price is above 40k the road tax is horrendous
Yep
Yes, for 6 years too. Absolute joke considering how many average cars are now over 40k
tbf if you can afford a 40k plus car, you probably can afford the odd 40 quid a month on road tax
So I am interested in a tesla as I see some really good prices on them...2021 long range model 3.around 19k £for a 50k mileage, some points to check before buying?any advice?thanks
My book on buying a used car is full of good advice and also some gold in my back catalogue of videos on here and a used car buying guide on my website.
Be careful though, in a lot of these deals, part of the discount is the manufacturers finance contribution. So you only get that price if you take the manufacturers finance.
These are cash deals I believe mate. If you’re ever offered a lower price only if you pay with finance you should get it in writing and report it to the FCA.
Plenty on Autotrader saying the discount includes the manufacturer finance contribution.
@@richfixescars all clearly breaking FCA rules in my opinion
Nissan Ariya Advance e-force on leaselocal for £2802 then £233 per month on a 24 month contract. Absolute bargain.
nice
Got a brand new Opel corsa in Spain 12 design €15800 £13200 retail is £20200 cheapest in UK is £15099 so we are still getting ripped off 🙄
👍👍
Jim, you are a very naughty boy showing that Audi RS6 Avant..😂
It’s in the video mate, I’m not click baiting. 😎
Alfa Romeo GIULIA have some very tempting price reduction, I am severely tempted……just can’t make the jump tho 😢
If give a testy for a Giulia- the bills that sometimes come with them have stopped me thus far…but they’re very sexy (the Giulias that is, not my testys)
Hey mate I am in desperate need of some advice. I am moving to the UK and I am not a car person yet.... I am after something between 5-7k. Good on fuel, space and something that connects with my iPhone well. Any recommendations to look at? Appreciate it if you did take some time to write back. I have watched loads of your videos. But I am now landed with way too much info :)
Hi Jack, feel free to book a call via my website. There are loads of variables so would need a chat.
@@DefinitelyNotAGuru hey mate I might actually do that as I would love help on it and I feel as though the more I research the more options I have which in turn means I'm further away from actually deciding! I wasn't sure what the call entailed so if it's for your help and advice then I think it's a great small investment for a long term gain. How much is a call?
@@jackjuddnuttall it’s all here pal www.notaguru.co.uk/book-a-call 👍
@@DefinitelyNotAGuru perfect mate thanks so much for responding!
Cars are still to expensive I have had a few new cars over the years but I find buying a good use cars the best value for money if you look after a car it will last for years not like the cars in the 50s and 60s when I was growing up that would fall apart after a few years from rust my wifes 2003 ford focus is still running great it's only got 70.000 miles on it her uncle us to work in fords so she got s bit discount off the new price sadly her uncle passed away it was the last new car we bought my cars are diesels so they do all the work my last car a VW polo for 12y
Unfortunately modern cars age a bit like milk these days so you need some luck on your side. The number of DIY repairs you can do drops by the week seemingly too.
The overinflated prices where manufacturers have tried to claw back losses over the lockdowns is over. Most consumers and businesses are being squeezed.
Over supply with sales downturn. More deals to come...especially in September.
👍
I would say take finance if there is a nice deposit contribution, then settle the finance soon after purchase.
With PCP there can be a hefty penalty if you want to settle up earlier than half way through the agreement so be very careful to read the small print on the settlement terms or you could get hammered and loose out on anything you thought that you might save.
‘Deposit contribution’ is almost never as much as the cash discount you’re seeing in this video. Just dealer tactics to try and push people into PCP with smoke and mirrors.
I remember a few years ago I got a car through a broker with a huge discount, part of it was the deposit contribution and still got free servicing and low apr. Those were the days!
Jim. Why did you go uuuuhhhh after saying PCP. I’ve got my F Pace D200 dynamic SE on PCP. £100 cheaper than lease.
I don’t hate PCP; it’s the routine mis-selling of it (in the extreme), then another one a couple of years later. For some reason, this form of finance is abused by salespeople and the regulator seems to turn a blind eye. Consumers deserve better.
👍👍👍
👍
Beware the bait and switch!
👍👍👍
What's the story with lre registered cars? These aren't test drive cars are they?
Dealers have bought them to hit a target/quota and they sit there until they're sold. Ex-demo's will have more mileage on them and should be labelled as such.
So the dealer themselves fork out the cash to the car company to hit the target and then try to move them on ASAP?
Dealers get bonuses and discounts from the manufacturers based on volumes etc
👏
thanks
😊
👍
Be giving EVs away with new cars
I hope so
Brilliant, I’ll have an estate and an EV as a runabout. Hang on, already have that and both are great!
