Great job!! Just don't fall for the trap of going back to the people you were around when the addiction started and kept going. It's almost 50% of addiction, changing your environment and creating new pathways and new habits to overcome any feeling of wanting to relapse. I do CBT and DBT they help alot when it comes to wanting to relapse, you learn that it is just the habit talking and that feeling can pass if you don't give in to it. I was on everything you can think of for 10 years, (mainly opiates). It took my ex ODing in my bedroom and I had to give her a Narcan shot, scariest experience i have ever went though, definitely gave me the kick in the ass I needed to make the steps to get better. (i don't like to call it being clean, because everyone has their vice, weather it be alcohol, tobacco, gambling or even sex while others choose synthetic chemicals. These days with the availability of drugs, to what they are cutting them with it's almost certain that if someone was say on Heroin, they would be for sure dead in a couple years max. The shit that is on the street now is insane, you dont get high, you just die. look up Benzo dope or tranq. it's a mixture of fentanyl and a certain benzo which you shouldn't mix anyway since it's one of the most dangerous combinations. (sorry for the long comment, just a subject im compassionate about when i see others struggling, I never though I would make it out of that world when I was full blown addict at the age of 19.
