  • Nigerians have called on the Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Abuja, Paul Enenche, to apologise to a member of his church who was publicly embarrassed and accused of dishonesty during a testimony session.
A video that went viral on Sunday showed Enenche questioning the credibility of the woman’s testimony at his church in Abuja.
The woman, Anyim Vera, who claimed to have graduated with a “BSc in Law” from the National Open University of Nigeria, was interrupted by Enenche, who accused her of lying.
He told her she didn’t sound like a Law graduate, going by how she spoke. He also told her that there is nothing like a “BSc in Law” and demanded that she leave the pulpit.
Following the incident, netizens have discovered the woman’s Facebook page and photos confirming she graduated from NOUN.
Also, a list of graduates who participated in the convocation on Saturday, April 13, included the lady’s name.
She was listed to have graduated with an LLB in Law.
The video has ignited varied reactions on social media, with some calling on Enenche to apologise for his actions, while others defend his stance. Some argue that the woman’s lack of eloquence may have caused the misunderstanding, while others believe that Enenche’s approach was harsh.
An X user, Soulmedika, wrote, “The only thing Pastor Paul Enenche needs to do to that woman is apologise and it should be profuse! All the excuse of ‘it’s not the Pastor’s fault, the woman should have been able to articulate the name of her degree’ is lame! Yes, all should stop acting like Christianity is a cult!”

Network. to a woman who struggled over all odds and was so overjoyed by this feat to be openly disgraced. Paul Enenche decided to play God period. He didn't think he will be caught in the Webb. If the reverse was the case that the woman lied Paul would have claimed he got a revelation from the Holy Spirit. Where do they interrupt people during testimony if she lied are you God? If she was a financier in the church would he have asked questions? He looked down on the woman, he disrespected/ humiliated her.
Church is supposed to be a hospital anyone should be free to worship God but no like the world people are classed. There is no justification for his action just arrogance. To think that people sat there and applauded him is disgraceful. Paul Enenche repent pride goes before a fall.

The truth is that the lady's English is not befitting of a graduate lawyer. The pastor was not wrong to throw a question to ascertain his curiosity based on the lady's eloquence. To be honest, the embarassment was uncalled for in the house of God. Not everyone was privileged to have a quality education in their formative years of learning. When the pastor saw that the woman doesn't have sufficient knowledge,he could have just cut off the testimony without raising a dust. How will that lady continue in that church again, when did the church become a place for perfect people?

The best answer..her English is not beffiting of any graduate talk less of law, anybody who does law cannot have such poor English..the fulcrum of law is the ability to express oneself..however the Pastor could have used wisdom and asked for it to be ascertained..even me if the lady spoke to me that way I would in my head be like 'are you sure u read law' but then again Nigerian education system has low standards..however Pastor could have been more diplomatic
The Pastor is a human being and is bound to make mistakes he embarrassed her because he sincerely thought she was lying and didnt want to the altar to be desacrated but embarrassment could have been avoided a soft answer turneth away wrath

GOD is the father of the fatherless and helper of the helpless. Ability to speak excellent English is never a criteria for GOD. I tell you there are many people out there who are more compassionate and kind than many heartless souls parading themselves as pastors, because GOD is not wicked. GOD is merciful. This is what happens when you graduate from school of theology as a pastor instead of waiting for GOD to call you. My GOD is not heartless. Let these so called men of GOD stop painting GOD bad.

I totally feel bad for the lady because no one person knows all the degrees that are offered in this big whole wide world. Someone’s ignorance does not mean that some other person is lying. Secondly, this woman came out with her phone meaning that she had evidence. I sincerely think that they should have left this woman share her testimony, call her after that, investigate even if you want the woman to come apologize later. Infact, that was such a terrible embarrassment. I feel sorry for that lady. Even if this woman is lying, is God not the perfect judge of everyone? Even if she is lying, she will have to stand before God and give an account. This lady in the blue dress is on point. Standing before a large crowd is not easy. If I was the one, I would probably have done something similar

They are not calling Enenche out because they love the girl. They just want to rubbish men of God. Whatever the case, the testimony was vetted, Enenche and his spiritual daughter are cool. Shame to naysayers and haters.
