“Ordinary Person To True Royal” Jennie Bond Praises Princess Kate As She Postpones Public Duties

- The Princess of Wales is being treated in hospital after undergoing successful abdominal surgery, Kensington Palace has announced.
Kate, 42, was admitted to The London Clinic on Tuesday for the planned procedure.
The future Queen is expected to remain in hospital for 10 to 14 days before returning home to continue her recovery.
The princess is likely to spend between two and three months recuperating and is not expected to return to public duties until after Easter based on current medical advice, the Palace said.
TalkTV’s Vanessa Feltz is joined by royal correspondent Jennie Bond who says the announcement “is quite worrying”.

I think Catherine does an awesome job and the reason is simple. She loves and respects William and he loves respects her. They want to make each other happy and don't have to sacrifice their own self worth to do it. They are truly commited to one another. They put each other before themselves because they want to...not because they have to. It's real, not fake and it shines through naturally in everything they do. The know their job and they just get on with it because they believe in what they do in my opinion.

The length of hospital stay has probably to do with the PoW having an external discharge bag and the hospital want to send her home without it. Any abdominal operation presents a difficulty in the using of abdominal muscles, they need to get back to normal in order to get in and out of a car, climb stairs, etc.

Most abdominal surgery requires cutting major muscles so a longer recuperation is necessary. Catherine's absence since Christmas might be due to spending time with her children during their school holiday. And, Vanessa, the Princess of Wales is named Catherine.
Catherine, Princess of Wales is an extremely hands on mom and I wonder if part of the reason for a longer hospital stay is so that she will truly rest and recover. As a full-time mom of three young ones 30 years ago, I came home from hospital with a broken arm after a riding accident, and I was still taking care of my kids.

That was my first thought, it would explain the extended recovery time. Remembering the terrible time she had with extreme morning sickness during each of her pregnancies, could she be more susceptible to other gynae problems? Joining you in wishing them both full and uneventful recoveries.
It doesn’t matter what her medical issue is and I think it’s very intrusive to start guessing. Let her have some privacy for goodness sake.
I doubt it's hysterectomy. Women go home after a hysterectomy in a day or two. Might be off work for a week after that. They are saying Kate's recovery will take much longer. Ischemic piece of her bowel?

If the operation was planned, why cancel planned engagements?
Because the royal family's diaries are planned months, probably a year in advance. Even a planned medical procedure can be necessary more quickly than than. The statment will have said "planned" to prevent anyone starting rumours that there was a 'medical emergency' or Catherine was 'rushed to hospital'.
