Wish there was a 3rd verse, but still one of my top 10 NF tracks of all time. Song still makes me cry as a Christian, because so much of this hits straight to the heart. Mad props to Nate for using his platform to love his faith. Need more of that.

I think instead of all of us always asking “why does bad things happen to everyone?” We should be asking why anything good happens to all of us at all when we’re so hopeless without God stepping in. Any blessings given to us are completely of God’s grace, and we can’t or didn’t do anything to earn them. I take a lot of comfort in knowing that I don’t have to be perfect to be loved by him unconditionally. ❤

You guys might be the most relatable reactors I’ve seen on CZcams. One being the Christian viewpoint that I relate too. Another is your southern accent, I lived in Oklahoma for many many years before moving north, so when I hear a southern accent I immediately identify with them. Great reaction guys.
Thanks Chris! I (Joe) grew up in Kentucky and Tennessee, and I've been in Arkansas for almost twenty years now, so the southern is still relatively strong 😁. And yes, our faith is paramount to how we approach things!

I think God is quiet because God gave us free will to figure it out, but God is always there when we hit a wall.

9:50 A rather hard question to answer and we do not know why he allows suffering but what the Bible does teach us is that humans flipped off God and told God to get out, God (having given us free will) respects our decision and steps back. With that chaos and suffering fills the gap.
Obviously the question that arises is why do we need free will? Isnt that what causes us to sin?
True, but for God to love us (to love someone can only be done FREELY) he has given us a free will. He will not force us to pray, worship, or believe in him; neither will he grab us by the collar and hurl us into heaven. Our terrible decisions lead us to our consequences. This passes down to future generations and leads to what we call "suffering"

I think that's a well-considered opinion to share. Thank you. And I agree, free will is paramount to love. I think there are several villains in stories throughout history that just want the damsel in distress to love them. Genie from Aladdin also said it - you can't FORCE love. By definition it becomes something different then.

no one likes the answer to the question. free will is the answer. we have the right to do what we want, even if that means creating suffering.
I completely agree with this. We're not automatons. We're being created with free will and the choice to love.
