Why USMLE ? ft. Bhavik Bansal (AIIMS Rank 1 - 2019) Exploring the differences in Indian PG vs USA

  • It was a difficult decision to go for USMLE, and hopefully this helps someone still making that decision.
I had experience of MBBS at AIIMS Delhi and of resident in Neurosurgical residency at AIIMS and now a resident doctor in the USA.. Bhavik has fresh experience of MBBS at AIIMS and rotations in the USA.

Great discussion, I read about you i.e. the neurosurgeon from AIIMS who is pursuing USMLE.
I am preparing for my Step 2, gave Step 1 a month ago, I want to match in psychiatry.
As of now, I don't have much work experience, no research & I am from a peripheral medical college (Dr SNMC Jodhpur)
There are hardly a few seniors / juniors who are in the US, there is no such thing as a SNMCian family in the US.
What advice / resources would you recommend so as to make this process a bit less daunting & lonely ?
