Follow me on this business trip to Milan! With this video I just want to show how easy is to get to Milan and that you can possibly do a round trip in one single day. I used the frecciarossa train from Pescara Centrale to Milano Centrale.

Thank you, I didn't realise that the centre of Milan was so beautiful, the architecture is amazing.

It's really fantastic, it's a wonderful city but recently prices have skyrocketed (more than the usual)

I'll be flying into Milan in Dec for a few days before moving on, my first time there with any real time to investigate. Reading the book Beneath A Scarlet Sky made me want to check it out more, how they were able to protect the cathedral during the war. I was only there for a few hours back in 2001, my first trip to IT.
I don't think I knew Starbucks had come to IT. I love the trains too. Wonder if I'll have time to get down to Abruzzo. Wouldn't have thought the train ride would be that short!

Hi Rino - thank you for this postcard from Milan! I have always wanted to visit the cathedral there - such an amazing building. We have some great ones here too - the best are Durham, York, Lincoln, Winchester, Salisbury, Canterbury, and Wells. The architecture is of course different to what you will find in Italy and elsewhere.
I have seen the Frecciarossa when the train track runs alongside the autostrada. You can't miss them in that impressive red livery. It's a great way to travel mainly because you can get up and stretch your legs and they arrive in the centre of town! BTW - the station at Pescara looks much bigger than I expected.
    Best regards

Indeed it's pretty large! It's actually quite busy and I think they had bigger expansion plans but who knows what happened...

Very beautiful stations! Kind of funny story when I took a cruise to Alaska with family back in 1997, I would disembark the ship on port days and look for coffee. The coffee on the ship was alright, but there were no starbucks anywhere. So I would walk around these towns like Ketchikan, Skagway, Homer, etc. mostly smaller towns with some historical significance. But the only coffee I found was Lavazza, they had signs outside of a few cafes, and there were not many cafes in some of these villages. I don't think they knew what they were doing making Italian coffee and probably not using the moka pot either.

ahahaha, that's a great story!! Lavazza is a strong brand, no wonder they are everywhere. Love the real life experience you shared, thanks!

Love trains! Yet another thing to live about Italy is the wonderful public transportation systems (especially trains). Really, REALLY wish the US had such systems! Enjoyed the video, and thank you for taking the trouble to share a little of your trip when you were busy with business!

Thank you! I always watch documentaries on how poor the train system is in the US. USA is too large I think! But trains are really the best to travel whenever the trip is not excessively long

Great video Rino! It’s nice to see how easy it is to get to Milan. Is there a similar train that goes to Florence?

Hi! From Pescara to Florence train is not recommended because you have to cross the appenines. You have to do Pescara to Bologna and then Bologna to Florence

Great video Rino, it is always a great experience to see Italy through actual Italians not from some wanna be digital nomad youtubers:)

Ciao Jean! Dipende molto dalla classe che uno acquista e dal periodo, in ogni caso siamo intorno ai 90€ a/r!

Just wondering, I may have missed it, but how long did the train ride take? Also, personally I don’t care for Milan, but I loved Bergamo. Bergamo was a very nice Surprise. ❤ And of course, while in Milan I had to visit the Starbucks place which was at the time wall-to-wall people and long lines everywhere so after about 20 minutes I turned around and I left, without coffee but with bad taste in my mouth.😂That was in Dec 2019
