A really good starting point not only for SOPHIE, but also the genre she's successfully trying to show the potential of.

Unfortunately her only LP to speak of, but it leaves such an impression with its sound and themes that it almost feels like you're looking inside someone's brain as they're going through some hard stuff.

I really hope you got to listen to these tracks with headphones or with a very high quality speaker. you critiqued certain songs because of a lack of structure but when you can hear the intricacies and deep details in the production you can tell there isn't a single sound out of place

Pretending was actually a "normal" song with lyrics and a beat, but Sophie felt like it was to literal and transformed it into this version. There is an edit of the album version being speed up and you can hear the lyrics "I was just pretending", which is obviously connected to her transition.
