Do you have any suggestions or pointers on how to manage ones mental health? It is evident you have a positive attitude towards life despite having to deal with some emotionally draining couple of years
Thank you for commenting; it means a lot knowing somebody has watched and found something interesting! 1. I have learnt that I can be in front of a camera - for years I avoided it at all costs! Plus, speaking in front of anyone, I stumbled on my words & my confidence was rock bottom! By being forced to be in hospitals, you are made to interact with others, all different individuals, so it opened my eyes up more. But through watching internet streams, I forced myself to engage and I actually found lovely communities, so refreshing! These people helped me to feel accepted and able to voice things! 2. Mental health has been a long battle, but it links to the first question. It wasn't until I met these communities, I felt very isolated, unable to converse and I ruminate a lot. Also, dark humour helps me get through. I joke about my issues - "my gut is like my sense of humour - twisted", or puns about the leg "getting legless", "I'll walk you through this"... People are bound to have questions about the leg, so I try and relay parts of my journey I concise points, which helps me know what to say, as I do get awkward if someone talks to me. Do t get me wrong, some days I am at my wits end, but trying to make jokes, or posting in hopes someone will get something beneficial from it, then I feel I've been more productive, and mentally that really helps.
