agreed re: the ending lol disagree re: climbing easily, they make a lot of very fundamental mistakes that will require a lot of work in order to fix and let them climb. but climbing for them isn't impossible!

I haven't seen anyone mention that they held nano for the entire round. And as a Ram main 4:23 caused me immense psychological, spiritual, and physical pain.

As an ana main (and mercy) I felt PAIN seeing them not using nano. Usually when I see a teammate ult like that I IMMEDIATELY nano😭 its like a reflex for me

Regarding the LW gameplay- I agree LW players need to tree more often than not. It charges so fast that using in pre-team fight, can really just turn things in your favor and you can charge another one relatively fast. It's really a flexible ult, and not as defensive as ult as people think.
Wait, you supposed to use it defencevly ? Once I unlocked WifeLeaver I use his ult like Lucio aka - burst heal/ult counter.
I think a lot of people initially thought its more defense oriented due the burst heal you get when it initially goes down, but with the Overhealth changes, it is very flexible in terms of defense/offense usage. More flexible than Beat I'd say due to the Ult charge being faster you can use it more times than save it for a particular moment. @@neondead2.0.15

@neondead2.0.15 it's really useful sometimes to stack with your team and put tree on a point before anyone on your team even touches the point so its blocking LOS and healing as soon as you take damage

3:34 this is definitely a "the support is out of LOS" situation, not a "teammates are out of LOS." something that has helped me a LOT on Ana is always asking myself, "is there somewhere i could position right now that will let me help my teammates with what they're doing right now while remaining safe?" granted, the issue here is that Ana is just completely out of position and not with their team.
I also remember what ml7 said once in a semi recent vod review he did. it was basically "if I'm on Ana, I want high ground. if i can't get high ground, i want a wall."
4:38 your Ram didnt have to die here, and their death was not their fault. nanoing your tank is always a solid choice, but your Ram was also ulting, and nano boost would have kept them alive longer so they could contest for longer (and give you time to get into position on the right side) even if they didn't have ult. this is 100% on you. would it have completely changed the course of the game? maybe not, but that's entirely irrelevant to whether you made the right choice. I say this because wayyyy too often people get hung up on whether their mistake had an impact on the ultimate outcome of a team fight or round or game instead of focusing on the fact they made a mistake.
5:06 genuine question: why on earth were you in this hallway in the first place? your sleep didn't matter because your team can't follow up on it without positioning poorly, so you just wasted a powerful ability to save yourself from the fact you put yourself in a bad position.
as someone in plat, you aren't ready for plat. gold is the right place for you at this moment. you don't have the positioning basics necessary for plat. you don't have the cooldown management necessary. you're losing team fights because you're not where you need to be and you don't understand the potential impact of your abilities so you're just wasting them and losing games because of it. you are the reason you're not climbing. if you want to climb, you need to focus on yourself and all the things you need to change.
this might sound harsh but it's actually good news because you get to decide whether you change and improve. if the problem was your teammates, you aren't in control of that. but you are in direct control over whether you begin climbing seriously. it's not going to happen overnight, and it will require work and serious self reflection, but if you want to climb, you are in control of whether that happens.
9:49 stop pulling your tank just because they're low. your tank has a bajillion health and they need to be aggressive. you can just heal them. save pull for when they are EXTREMELY low. let them get all the value they can with their bigger health pool and THEN get them out when healing them isn't enough to keep them alive. it's okay for a tank to have the critical sign for a little while. the critical is based on percentage, not actual numerical amount of health. this is why its generally more important to heal a critical squishy who is under pressure first because a critical tank still has more health. obviously this can depend but don't panic so much just because you see the plus sign on the tank. take a second to check just how much health they have left.
a big part of climbing through gold is learning to understand when your team doesn't need healing and when they do. missing hp doesn't immediately mean they NEED healing.
They're 100% gold. Gold decisionmaking, positioning, and stress during play. At least considering they're playing vs other gold players, they really shouldn't be stressing like this if they were a plat player or better.
this is true. I'm in plat, but I did unfortunately have quite a bad losing streak for a variety of reasons and ended up in gold 3 at one point. the next 6-7 games I played before ranking up immediately to gold 1 from gold 3 were some of the easiest and least stressful games I've ever played. the only reason I was genuinely stressed at all was because I didn't want to be in gold again lol
if you're in plat or should be in plat, low to mid gold games are a breeze. yes, even on support. yes, even on Mercy. I'm basically a filthy mercy one trick in comp and they were easy games.
don't get me wrong, I remember they were baffling at times. low to mid gold is a very different environment from plat lol people play the game a bit differently. but still very easy.
I don’t think there’s much difference between the two except plat has more people with good mechanics but low game sense
@@x100bullets as someone who has played in both, there's a significant difference. don't get me wrong, plat isn't GM lol but a lot of very important fundamental things start happening very consistently in plat that don't happen at all or happen only very rarely in gold, especially low gold. examples: use of high ground, understanding synergies and executing those synergies, aggressive ult usage, tanks begin to really demonstrate an understanding of how to time their aggression and more reliably engage and disengage intentionally, etc.
I’m mid-high Plat on tank and I’ve played one or two games against Gold tanks and the difference isn’t even funny. I can just turn my brain off and demolish their whole team. They make basic mistakes and lack an understanding of the fundamentals of taking and controlling space, which consistently leaves either them or their team wide open. I say this as a DVa one trick too, and I hear DVa isn’t supposed to be very good this patch. I can’t imagine how dull it must be not being able to fly though.
@@x100bulletsThere are distinct differences. Generally speaking you can see it mostly on what types of decisions are made, and how quickly they're made. Also what information is disregarded. Gold players have a much higher tendency to react to more irrelevant information and be less skilled in filtering useful info from noise.
Of course there is some discrepancy from rng matchmaking, and quantity of fluctuating players (newer players too), etc. But when you compare avg vs avg, there absolutely are clear differences. What used to be a 200SR difference in the old system (roughly equal to one rank-up/down, is already enough for most players to tell a difference if they have properly settled in their rank.
I really enjoyed this one. I think there’s more to learn in this kind of high Gold/low Plat vod review, as opposed to the bronze/Silver ones. Thanks!

The thing I like to do when playing as support is that, try your best to make sure you have a good positioning and you can see the teammates,
Whenever they go, I always look around and test around to see which positioning is good to stay to see everyone, unless I'm kiriko, mercy or Moira which always be close to my flanker or close to the over extended tank, as ana, I want to make sure I can see everyone even if that means I always have to reposition everytime (make sure to heal them too while moving), it's hard but it's become a habit when you played her for a while
Move chat inbetween the cam and player list so we can see cooldowns
Decision making and positioning are 100% gold, i've seen worse aim in high diamond low masters, they can definitely climb if they take time to learn

Being a lowground Lifeweaver is as bad as being a floor Lucio. Petal Platform has such a high uptime when used properly, that any Lifeweaver should have unlimited highground access unless they get contested. Not to mention the ability to create highground where there normally wouldn't be any.
If you’re an Ana main you know you can win a team fight if you nano when you know you’re going to die or your tank is trying to stall point last minute. I honestly don’t know how this person is even gold.
Plat's a hellscape with a sickening amount of variance in skill from top to bottom, so this person could be there since there are people in it worse than them, but if they want to be there consistently and climb to high plat/diamond and beyond, they HAVE to clean up a lot of the stuff they did in this match.
Whyyyy does no metal rank Lifeweaver ever charge their healing up fully? It's just straight up more healing per second, and less reloading. It's VERY useful to spam *sometimes*, like at 10:04, where it's required to sacrifice the healing per second with just straight up saving their teammate. That was one of-, if not the only moment where that was a good play.

The pedal to pull combo part of the video, when Soldier died, is why I like playing Weaver. That play would've been sick asl, and I think as Weaver, you have to be looking for plays like that. Otherwise, your gameplay gets stale, predictable, and you're just spamming heals without really supporting the team in any other way.
Not using Nano is criminal, speaking as a diamond, a good plat would never switch with nano

Bad positioning, bad cooldown management and very mediocre aim.

With cooldowns they spammed them as ana and held onto them as lifeweaver. There was so much in that first round they could have done as Ana. Ana is extreeeeeeeemely strong in both DPS and keeping people alive.
This is gold gameplay and actually looks very similar to my friends silver gameplay. This isn't even high gold.
As an ex Gold 1 support to recently climbing to Diamond 5 (95%), this player isn't even close to Plat and would get absolutely sent right back down the ranks because they hold onto their support ults for FAR too long, their positioning is insanely terrible and Plat/Diamond Genji/Soldier players will absolutely rock their world every single engagement. I'm a Moria/Ana two trick in the support realm and this player lacks the confidence, awareness and mechanics to climb Plat let alone ever reach it. I'd say simply just implementing the ideal that holding onto your ult for the perfect moment is how to stay hard stuck as a support is enough for them to at least get Plat 5, but even then, there is a ton they need to work on. Their ability awareness (their lack of using cool downs effectively or at all to maximize value) is Silver level, their Mechanics are high Gold at best. They are exactly where they belong and will begin to fall to silver if they continue to hold onto their ult for the "perfect moment"
Yeah. Supports like this are a large factor in why I dont play much anymore. Nothing more annoying than a support who cant position, yelling at you for playing the game with your eyes and ears on. Then to get pulled out of a fight I can win, to watch my team die because I am not there.

I do agree that all 3 bitch, I am bitching myself; but supports bitch the most, with the most attitude, and often times are throwing while doing it.
I get annoyed with feeding tanks, or useless damage, but out of position supports who cant do their job, and make it hard for everyone else; there is a special place in elo hell for them

I have the highest number of positive experiences with other supports, which makes the negative experiences more memorable, true, but not more numerous than the negative experiences I have with other roles. but that's my experience. your experience may be different, but that doesn't mean it's universally true.
I'd like to see less supp vods and more tank ones tbh. I haven't watched it yet but I hope they don't switch to life weaver or Moira and stick to ana the whole game
