Hi guys this is a nice video to watch and I would agree with the fact that Daiwa make the top rods and reels other than Shimano. BUT I FEEL THAT THESE COMPANIES ARE TAKING THE PISS. Where in the world can the average fisherman afford a rod for 400 pounds . I feel that coarse fishing has gone from enjoyable hobby to most expensive sport. Prices on generally ever aspect of fishing has gone to a really dear hobby. It's easy for someone like Steve Ringer to say I recommend using this rod which costs 380 pounds because he's sponsored by Daiwa. Generally if you calculate by the time you buy the feed for the fishing , the food and the travel, plus the day ticket your probably in the region of 30-50 pounds . Now do that 2ce a week for the average person that's a load of money. Anything decent fishing tackle to buy with a brand name costs a load of money . Another thing is that you don't here about is I'm sure that matchmen who have expensive equipment take out insurance policy's on their gear which is another extra expense. God knows how much ?.
I just had a thought isn't it a shame that most companies think like the Chinese , where the Chinese make 50,000,000 of something and sell it cheap and everybody buys it , where as European companies make 50,000 and retail it at a high price so only certain margin of people can afford it . Which makes sense to you ?.
I know that some of the top match anglers like to have the best tackle on the market but even alot of them can't afford rods like these. It makes me laugh when they write in articles say they use this rod that costs £400 bar and the reel costs £200 plus. Most of these anglers couldn't afford the tackle they have. It's only cause there sponsored that they use them. Can't you do more reviews on rods in the 100/200 range. Thanks Craig Burton tadcaster
It is not often rods this special come along so when they do, and a company are prepared to raise the bar, shouldn't we be there to appreciate that? I agree that rods at this price point are not for everyone. but we do need to acknowledge a company trying to push the boundaries of rod design!
