Mass inertia means that any physical object will try to remain in a straight, linear path when in motion. Thus, forcing it to take a curved path accelerates it in another direction, which due to mass inertia, creates an apparent force perpendicular to the curved path - it is this apparent force that counteracts the force of gravity, thus allowing the car to drive upside down as long as the path remains curved.
