I saw The Dream two or three times 50 years ago and still remember every moment. Genius. Thank you Peter Brook and all the RSC

I saw this production at the Billy Rose Theater in NYC when I was 14. That was 50 years ago and I’ll never forget it.

What would Patrick Shakespeare himself have made of this? Of course he lived long before Mahatma Gandhi! The Bhagvad Gita for Pat Shakespeare was Warwickshire psilocybin? ( the 'midnight mushrooms' Prospero refers to?) Ben Kingsley is like Bono. (not a compliment as Bono is very very pretentious and pleased with himself. Osric?)

Shakespeare wasn't real, apparently a carpenter from Nuneaton was the true author.

Directors' Theatre. God help us. So pretentious.
