He also had some big crashes in his career in F1 and before F1 (lucky to survive them). It's a pity he had some poor starts off the grid and that costed him quite a bit. He'll probably regret never being on the podium in the Australian Grand Prix.

Coulthard and Webber having a half hour long chat? Sign me up! These guys are easily two of the most likeable drivers to have graced the grid since I started watching in '97. Only thing missing is Button to make it a threesome.

Yes, top respect for Mark Webber, to put in the performances he did and almost get the championship with the backdrop of clearly a bias towards Vettel in the team was an outstanding. Mark definitely was worthy of a WDC and more race wins.

Mark is still my favorite F1 driver. He always spoke his mind and continued to push and get the most out of the car in spite of the team clearly favoring Vettel at the time. He was so close to being a champion a few times. Just a few lucky breaks here and and few better starts there and he would have been on top.

Sorry but when did webber challenge more then 2010? Seb also had unlucky moments in 2010, he lost 2 race wins from reliability, thats 50 points. Its actually stupid that you guys keep talking that webber was treated badly. Redbull saw a bright flash at the end of the tunnel with vettel that gave them 4 titles. You can just see how badly beaten after 2010 webber was against vettel. When seb was winning titles webber was barely getting a few podiums

Ultimately though, while I'm no fan of Vettel, the right man won the 2010 title. All 4 title contenders made mistakes, but Hamilton was always punching above his weight and the car lost competitiveness at the end of the season. Alonso's win would always have been overshadowed by Germany, while Vettel got like 10 poles and while he did make many stupid mistakes (him and Webber more than the other two), he was also the most unlucky. If I'm being honest, that 2010 red bull was as dominant as 2011 red bull it was just bad luck (engine, brake failures) held Vettel very far back.

  • @nielspeterbrggeregebo7730

Two quite similar careers between Coulthard and Webber: both were very solid number two drivers, who fought in the top for several seasons each, but neither managed to win a championship.

  • @splade22

I'm a fan of Webber but there's always such a focus on Vettel & crashes - he won 9 Grands Prix but there was almost nothing about them. Germany 2009 worth a mention?
