If you listen to Andy a lot then you'll notice that after every joke, he usually backs it up with something genuinely appreciative. As a commentator, he is absolutely on-point. A real insight into the game...
Love Andy!
He could actually go into comedy type films he’s so damn funny and has really good comedic timing.
@terryallen5328 I can see that! Haha
What a guy Andy is, a tennis gem for sure
Great guy indeed!
Another legend. Played in a really tough era but damn he was so talented. Definitely deserved to win more majors :) We miss you on tour Andy !
Federer spoiled that but still love Andy!
@@RogerThatTennis Same happened with federer on clay with nadal
Andy is such a likeable guy. I always admired him with his great sense of humour.
The bit about Djokovic's injuries is hilarious
he got punished for that when the met each other. Novak swept him infront of his spectators
@@fraerot still faked injuries
@@andreapiccotti7264 nope ...it turn out to be true. Maybe you are talking about Nadals injuries
Then got his ass kicked, so he learned what others have; if you make Nole mad, you will LOSE BIG afterwards!
@@fraerotpfft wrong
Funniest athlete you will ever find in the world.
Helps that he’s sharp and humble. Could listen to him all day. 🙏👊🏼💥🤙
Great guy!
That press conference is just hilarious. That 2007 AO SF is my favourite. I'm sorry for Roddick, but Roger Federer played on an insane level that night. And hey, Andy's wife watched that presser when she learned that Andy was interested in her and thought he had a great sense of humour and agreed to meet him, so hey, something good came out of it!
😂😂😂 this scenes seem like they were taken straight out of a comedy movie and the fact that he looks exactly like stifler makes it even more epic 😂😂😂😂
You have to give it to Andy.
One of the most gracious loser ever.
He's also the funniest loser ever.
And he won a slam title.
He's also one of the best tennis analyst out there.
That makes him a big winner in my mind. Big time!
This guy is who you want your kids to emulate. Work hard, win well, lose gracefully, and remember no matter what happens, you're supposed to be having fun.
Andy may never have reached his career goals, but damn! He sure is funny🤣
He is man haha
I’ve never seen a player humiliated so much like Roddick was by Federer. Roddick always knew he wasn’t good enough. He won one lousy slam! One!
@@thelaurels13One lousy slam? Chill out.. He was not good enough to play all his good years against the best prime of all time (Federer's) whose style also was missmatch for Roddick. But othewise he had a pretty decent record against most of the other great players he faced during his career, playing 4 more GS finals and many GS semi fimals only to lose most of them to Roger.. Also winning 5 Masters 1000 titles and overall 32 singles titles while being the World's No1 for the year 2003 and being in the top 10 for 9 straight years.
He was pretty good..
@@thelaurels13 How many have you won champ?
"There's actually no cool way to recover from that."
Hahha that was goated
He's a true gentleman like his generations. Tennis that time was so pure joy to watch without drama.
Have never seen his interviews before. He is hilarious.
What a great sense of humour and a nice bloke to boot. !!
Put Andy and McEnroe together in the booth for the US Open.
That'd be awesome
I love Federer playing style, talent, shotmaking but I have always been a big fan of Andy Roddick also.. great competitor, exciting player, very charismatic, funny, honest and genuine, never made sorry excuses after losing.
When he and Roger squared off on court I was always excited to watch their matches!
That "I love to hate him, but he's just really nice", I remember he said that when he was being interviewed back then when I was little and I found that funny when he said it, that quote really stayed with me for all those years and I remembered Andy Roddick through that. Personally, aside from Federer being my fav, I also like Andy Roddick as well. He's a funny guy.
He lost one of the slam finals to Roger and he cried in the locker room. I think it was Wimbledon. When Roger came in later, he asked his team not to celebrate when Andy was there. That was what stuck with Andy for so many years.
When he was an active player, he was my favorite. I rooted for him in every match. Very witty guy.
Really liked him as well!
Give Meddy and Andy a talk show.
Andy can take pride that he was the last American man to (1) win a slam, and (2) rank world #1.
I DO like him, lovely to see this.
Great guy!
Andy is so funny
Yessirr
Andy is the greatest.
Respect Andy 100..as a great player an being humble in defeat against Roger/ really don't see that humour nowadays! Hope he's well in 22 he's a top gun top guy.....respect Andy r 🎾
"I threw all the racquets out of my bag, went back to the US with no racquets (as a kid)"
welp, 5 racquets is about $1000.... must be nice.
@@dabassboss4734 no, surely the racquets he was using in tournament in another country were actual racquets costing $180-220 each
I'd say it's 500 max though right? If he was 18 and under
@@biggabenne dang i mean maybe i'm used to seeing like $80-100 racquets nowadays so
Hopefully he went back and picked them up haha
He looks like Stifler from American Pie movie
😂😂😂
Seann William Scott. And it's a very old joke, literally 20+years old.
Andy is legend & so handsome 😍❤️
Great guy too!
Missed him a lot watching playing tennis since jr.champion and good entertainer too.
Brooklyn Decker is a really good comic actress ( see Grace and Frankie). I bet the two of them laugh all the time. So great.
He’s got the best sense of humour, ..by far
Gotta love him
He and Jim Courier
I like him as a commentator/analyst!
how gracious a player is, isn't defined by how they win but how they lose. and andy is as gracious as a player can get.
Did you not see the way he used to disrespect umpires & press people? Also did say some disrespectful things to fellow players I.e Djokovic.
In terms of when he loses to the likes of Federer. I mean there's nothing else you can say when a player is that superior to you.
Roddick had the fastest serve and could still hardly ever beat the top players he knows he has to accept they deserved to beat him when he lost.
When did stifler become a tennis player ? 🤣🤣
Hahaha
That's a good one😂
@@monikamilz2857 hahaha
@@RogerThatTennishahaha
@speedymaster5758
I think it was 20+years ago, when we first thought of that joke 😂
Roddick just didn't have that *complete* game that was able to push him over against the Top 4 when they arrived, but Andy was DAMN good. I was so proud of him when he won the US Open in '03. He earned it. I had the privelege of watching him serve live, and DEAR LORD I haven't seen anything like it since.
Lol, I started to watch tennis seriously when Nadal won his first Roland Garros. I never knew this guy was so funny.
all American the great Andy Roddick
I remember he was getting an absolute tennis lesson from Andy Murray at Queen's, I mean battered and he just shouted across to Murray, "hey, keep it social".
For an American, he's a very likeable guy.
He is and always will be the consummate professional.
I don't know why he reminds me of Stifler
He really does haha
even tho he lost to federer many times, don't forget he lost in the finals. He is a winner. Has an amazing wife, amazing life, good player and human that's all you need. Unfortunately the big 3 ruined a lot of tennis careers but now that's they are almost over, lets see what the new era of tennis brings us.
Way to go stifler
Stifler in a real life!
0:30 He phrased it wrong. I think he meant it's not stalking if she likes it but he said the opposite lol
He looks like stifler from american pie xD
He really does haha
Wow
I miss Andy
Same!
if you don't put it in, it doesn't count... XD
Hahaha too good
Andy Roddick is my favorite tennis player by far! Always childish and entertaining! It sucked that he couldn't beat Roger but neither did you. So
Andy loosing his hair like Nadal is dramatic
Did not know Stifler started playing tennis
Rodyc vs maestro king Roger fact winning matches eternity❤😂🎉😢😮😅😊
Yessirr
Andy was a great player, but he struggled with Federer’s short, low chip shot, especially when Federer was returning his serve. Novak and Rafa were able to neutralize that shot from Federer, but Andy always seemed exposed when Federer hit the chip shot.
Letterman was such a perv...he acts like he doesn't know who his wife is.
Not many players can say they were World number one and Grand slam champions.
Roddick and Tsonga would have won so many more tournaments if they'd played in a slightly different era...
Andys years unfortunately was overwhelmed by fed novak and rafa at the time...
Mostly Fed, he did quite well against the other two.
Andy Roddick has great self-depricating humour. No wonder his wife married him!
Sube títulos en español, please
And have a beer with a rod
You gotta put it in or doesn't count. That's what my friend used to say about having a girl friend.
Yes that was obviously the joke. The comments on this page seem to be from nothing but teens at oldest it's like they're all saying the Stifler joke as if it's 2003 like when I first said it, not 2023
He, Andy has some "odd" jokes 😂 and odd delivery
The delivery is great! That's why people genuinely laugh with him. I don't know about "odd jokes", depends on preferences i suppose. I think he is a guy with great, on the spot, sense of humor.
He did beat Federer 3 times to Federer's 21.
Indeed!
He should hve said serve it in, lol
its just Stifler
It is hahah
nadal eats roddick for breakfast
That’s sad to see a generation of players passing by. Frk it sux realising time flying past now..
I just hope Nadal can bite the bullet and accept it’s his time to retire this year
Glad we got to watch them though
Andy has Julia Roberts' mouth
Big shame he never did playgirl
What’s playgirl?

Roger surely ruined what could have been a multi grand slam career. Hard luck.
Him, Rafa and Nole did that to a few careers 😅
he never had a a good volley Bad teachers He should have read the Vic Braden books on volleying He missed a great chance at wimbledon to go 2 sets up final at wimbledon against Federer
Especially with his serve, if he’d been even just a bit more competent at the net he could’ve won more, that high backhand volley in Wimbledon that he absolutely stuffed up was really bad
@@YehShano Yes he would have gone 2 sets up against Federer,,, bad technique no matter how competitive or mentally tough.. As Braden would say show me how to hit the ball
I'm sorry, but Goran Ivanicevic is the funniest player ever by a mile.
Marat Safin was funny, too.
Speed has ruined tennis. This small court game was never intended for speed or modern artificial rackets or strings.
Evolve or die, grandpa
@@bradleywolf5641 my 100 mph one hand backhand alone would cause you to run off the court. The bottom line is the modern equipment is a handicap, an assistant for the tennis player. It’s artificial.
1:50 is not a funny moment.
Glad Roddick’s done on the court. He was kind of a punk
I’ve met him. Most arrogant guy I’ve met
Did he stiff your tip doing door dash?
no way! really?
@@otoolepw yes I used to train near him in Omaha. I was playing at University of Nebraska and i mentioned while we were playing poker together that we had the same coach and played tennis at UNL. He was an arrogant $&@$.
@@tonyc99999 That’s so surprising. Nothing like his public persona at all.
@@otoolepw I was told that also. Rafter the same also I was told. Short tempered with stringers and others when cameras off
Andy Roddick is the GOAT
