I dont understand why Paddy was ever in the conversation of fighting Ilia, this man would absolutely obliterate him
Thats why lol. UFC protects paddy, even though he's a huge rat. Dude used mental health issues as a reason to make people feel sorry for him RIGHT AT THE SAME TIME as everyone starts hating him for the ariel shit. Rat.
They had beef outside the cage.

Respect to Ilia for not pushing a Paddy fight. It’d help his fame and earn him more $ but he knows it’d be a circus event, Paddy is way below his level. Ilia has bigger goals like the belt
He would actually kill paddy if they fought honestly😂😂😂

lol, he wouldnt make alot of money actually, he would make the same money he is making now under contract and paddy the same. None are headlining a PPV or have PPV points. Topuria probably makes more money than paddy in all reality through the UFC (not sponsorships as paddy has barstool and not too sure what topuria has)
@@bigmodontfail6229I can agree. It's not a good matchup for Paddy. It's like another Conor vs Khabib rivalry where Topuria just wants to kill the big mouth

For any non-Spanish speakers wondering what was said by Ilia, I got you 👇🏽
Reporter asks him about the significance of fighting on commercial broadcast (free) tv on ABC
4:16
Ilia: Let's see, it is something . . . something super beautiful to experience, no? Like I've been saying all week, it's like, seeing it in your mind and to then realize it in actuality is something very, very beautiful. It is also super important because the entire world shall clearly see that I am the next contendor to fight for the belt and I hope the whole world can openly and directly enjoy my performance.
. . .
Reporter says that Ilia told the media in Saturday that sometimes what he says can be confused with arrogance but Ilia said that it is not arrogance, it is confidence backed up by hard work. He asks Ilia if he continues to have that same confidence that he'll beat Emmett and be next in line for the belt after he does.
4:59
Ilia: Without a doubt, the confidence is still there, still there and I strengthen it with every camp I do, every training that I do, every, every improve, every time that I improve myself the confidence I have grows.
. . .
Reporter says that the last time we saw Ilia (in December) he got into it with Paddy and then Paddy was gifted a decision he should have lost while Ilia vaporized his opponent. Ilia seems to have pushed it aside even though he is asked about it constantly. The reporter asks does he still think about him, what if he were to run into him at some corner?
5:37
Ilia: How, how to you, how can I explain it to you? It's like . . . nnn, what does it matter to me? You know one of you could say something bad to me and I could have a misunderstanding with one of you but that has nothing to do with my professional life, right? It's like what interest do I have fighting with one of you in what puts food on my table, you know? It's the same with Paddy, he isn't ranked, it doesn't, it doesn't do anything for me to beat him. It's only a couple of persons that would like to see me fight him an, and that's it. It doesn't get me any belt, it doesn't give me any cred, it is not anything to defeat a nobody
. . .
Reporter asks if Ilia feels that the UFC has been underappreciating him
6:40
Ilia: Not at all, I do not expect anyone to set my worth, I earn that myself, soo, not at all.
. . .
Reporter asks if Ilia feels the Latin American fans do not believe in his hype and perhaps that the UFC might be deifying him a bit since he is from Spain and asks him if he thinks that with this fight he'll be able to demonstrate why Spain supports him so much
7:04
Ilia: Deifying me not at all, I am not a god . . . it, ehhh, I believe my supporters from my home, that . . . that is Spain, do it because of the results that, that I have produced until now. It is not, not, not what I say, it does not come out of the blue, I have shown it on multiple occasions that we are here and that we are coming for the title and that's it. If that bothers anybody, then the problem, that's their problem, no?
. . .
Reporter asks if, based on his performances against Hall and Mitchell, if Ilia thinks that he has an even better chance of winning against Emmett than even those two matchups
7:56
Ilia: It's like I've told you, I never read into what people think or expect of me. I know what I think and expect of this and every fight that is, that I have had until now it's been what I've expected and the result is what I've said. It'll always be the, the, the, the same for me because for every fight I highly prepare myself, I take it on with a high degree of professionalism in every moment. I have prepared myself the best I can for, for this combat and on Saturday night it makes no difference if they put Josh Emmett, Max Holloway, or Volkanovski in there, whatever, I feel like the best in the world. I have shown it until now, I will show it yet another time this Saturday night and when my title fight arrives everyone shall see.
. . .
Reporter asks about him training at Sanford MMA and what that means for his training and camps in the years to come
8:51
Ilia: Weeeell, basically it depends on how I feel. Right now I felt a bit liiiike I needed to get out of my, of my comfort zone in Spain. I felt overly comfortable so I needed to feel those experiences in training of going to train without knowing what to expect aaaaand it was basically the reason that I moved the, the camp. I went to the, the gym Kill Cliff where they took me in with much affability aaand nothing else. Honestly, the preparation was super, they treated me super well and Saturday night it shall all shine through. All the work I put in shall show and all the energy.
. . .
Reporter asks Ilia if more so than the belt, similar to Adesanya, is there a legacy he is building
9:46
Ilia: Obviously, I hope that with, with me as an example I can inspire tons of persons that it makes no difference where you come from that anything is possible if you can see it in your mind, then you can bring it, bring it all to fruition aaand that would be the summary, a bit, of . . . of, of, of my example, no? That everyone knows where I come from, that nothing was gifted to me, that everything, that everything, I have had to earn it with hard work and I expect to be an example and inspiration for others because I say that by example is not one of the forms of influencing others, it is the only one so nothing else. Saturday you're about to see the son of God inside the octagon shining.
. . .
Reporter asks him for a prediction
10:37
Ilia: I'll finish him before the time's up, undoubtedly. The judges can go home for the last fight to rest, eat a sandwich, because we won't need 'em.
Legend 💪🏼🫡

I can definitely see him becoming champ very soon! Very fast and heavy hands, fast kicks, everything he throws is just nasty. He’s the same destroyer in the last round as he is the first round. So surely his kryptonite must be a wrestler/BJJ guy? Nope! He seems just as competent on the ground as he is on the feet! Also defensively sound everywhere
He has more ground Game than Striking, actually, he is a black belt in BJJ
@@rafitatheboneless6727 having a black belt does not make him better on the ground then he is at striking. With that said, I do agree that he’s VERY good on the ground also. He’s dangerous everywhere.
@@chadyoak1633 Not the black belt, but his experience, is just that he felt in love with boxing, but his base comes from BJJ, and Greco-Roman wrestling.
People forget about this because of how much he strikes, but yeah, he is a very good well rounded fighter but we have to remember that is even better in grappling
@@rafitatheboneless6727 best I can tell from Wikipedia is that he didn’t get his black belt in BJJ until after he was already in MMA right before a title fight for cage warriors. So I’d say he’s been training boxing/kickboxing as long as he’s been doing BJJ. Greco Roman doesn’t even take place on the ground like folk style wrestling in America. The gym he’s at trains everything. So I think it’s fair to say that he’s just as good on the feet as he is the ground. I just don’t see any evidence that says otherwise. He very much reminds me of RDA the night that he beat the brakes off of Pettis, just slightly more technical.
I very much enjoyed watching him beat Ryan Hall! I hated Ryans style of anytime somebody swings at him he flops to his back. Llia is one of the most complete fighters competing today. I’d love to see him and Volk fight!
