    Notes:
    - 33:22 insert a Ftu/Fcu column before the force column; ignore Ei and n atm
    - we don't need to calculate moment of inertia (I) for ONLY plastic analysis. We only need I for elastic analysis
    Questions:
    - @ 32:00, does calculating section properties using the horizontal slices rather than just bh^3/12 combine steps 3 and 5?

Krishi, No. When using the Elasto-Plastic Method you do not actually need to evaluate the I of the section. Your slices need to break at the neutral axis though.

Ah I got it! That table isn't "section properties" it's slice properties.
For my personal reference: Eq 2.2.1 & Table 2.2.1

@@kgajjar3219 Right. If you also need the elastic moment allowable, then you can use the table for both, but if you only need MEP, then the moment of inertia is not required. This concept is really clear in the handbook too. :-)

@@ToddCoburn Both the handbook and lecture are clear, just the example table threw me off 😅
I’ll be counting the number of times you plug your handbook as I go through this course haha. This makes one.
      Thank you for the help!

@@kgajjar3219 Lol. Great book! (That counts 2)
