My father is 86 living the past 6 years with Stage 4 melanoma. He was originally given 3 to 6 months. He had surgery first (on his neck) followed by wider surgery. He was on Keytruda for 4 months til toxicity was too much. However his tumor load is still stable. He has lung, kidney, liver and groin tumors.

Dr. Sosman, thank you so very much for this illuminating tutorial, one that will clarify and lead me and my family to further enlightening conversations about my therapies, i.e., discussions that will include all of us in the ongoing health journey I anticipate to keep me alive longer and with fewer complications/side effects along the way. Seeing this "made my day"! Much appreciation for your life-long work...which, I am sure, informs that of my incredible health care team: Drs. George Bobustuc, Amin Kassam, B. Khan, Stephen, Nigh, and more...

Chandan I am so sorry this has happened to your Mum. 😔
I have stage 3 at the moment. I have been battling this since 2019.
It has metastased into my lymph nodes now.
My surgeon removed 13 and 9 were cancerous.
I am going to Beatsoncology on the 18th of this month for Immunotherapy then chemotherapy.
      I live in Scotland.
I don't understand why your Mum hasn't been treated.
Melanoma is a very cruel Cancer.
I am 66 and this started with a mole on my back.
Tell her I send my love. 🌹

Hi Sonam, thankyou for your kind words. I wasn't allowed Immunotherapy because my Cancer isn't allowed it.
I am on two kinds of tablets for Chemotherapy. Trametinib 3 once a day and Dabrafenib taken 2 twice a day.
They have altered those tables as I was so ill, I had projectile vomiting. I was off them for 5 weeks, then had to stop them again as I was ill. Back on them again and maybe this time I will be able to stay on them.
I hope your wife is doing okay. I live in Scotland. I hope you both stay safe and take care. 🕊🌹
