Choosing “silent mode” doesn’t stop the focusing chirp. You have to go to camera 2 in the menu, then page 9 of 9, then to the bottom of the page to “Audio Signals” and turn that off. It also cancels the shutter timer beeps. I found this remedy in a CZcams video but now can’t find it again to credit the author.

Can you shoot in burst mode with silent shuttet on the 3rd gen cameras?
On the A7rii you are limited to single shot mode when using the silent shutter.

The other answers to your question are simply ridiculous. It has nothing to do with the lens. Instead, go to the menu - camera 2 - page 9 - AUDIO SIGNALS to turn off the "beep". This is a good question and should have been included in the video.

It changes colors from mechanical to silent. Silent has tons of color. Mechanical shoots in flat profile. Any way around this

Hi I have a Sony A7 (not R or S) and I cannot see how to shoot in silent mode. I have looked through every menu and cannot see the option that you have. Can you help please ?

John Hayes your camera doesn’t support it. Only the newer versions.

Have you checked if your camera model supports silent shooting? It might not be available on all versions of the A7.
